January 7, 20197 yr Picture has been posted before but a great view of the Bridge. We must have been playing QPR given the poor away support.

I'm pretty sure the first game where le saux tore them apart and we drew 0-0 was cancelled on tv because of the gulf war, but like you rushed home from game to watch on TV, remember going to the Lane and Townsend totally dominated Gazza, great night, then we messed it up against Wednesday

You're right. My memory is becoming a blue after all these years: I blame the beer and whisky. The date of the home game was 16 January the same day as the First Gulf War started. I've just remembered getting home after the 3-0 win at WHL being told by the lady I shared a house with at the time not to tell her the score as she wanted to watch the highlights. Was difficult to keep quiet. She must have guessed though due to the smug grin on my face.

The cordoned off part of the terracing, with the blue fence round it looks weird ! Was there an obvious reason (that I have simply forgotten) why it was fenced off ? Crowd control perhaps (QPR excepted !)

At various stages two parts of the Shed ( by the floodlights and the wrap around to the West Stand), and the North Terrace (by the West Stand), were closed for safety reasons. We couldn’t afford to carry out the work to get them up to scratch again. Went on for many years.

The cordoned off section to the left of the Shed is where my old man and few of his mates used to stand. It's where he took me for my first time when I was 7 yrs old and continued to go with my dad until I was allowed to go on my own at 14 yrs old (1976), at which time I migrated to the Shed. From memory of that section the concrete steps were cracking and falling apart and there were loose barriers.

That section was where me and mate climbed into v Liverpool first season back 84/85, shed was rammed, old bill told us to get back, and my mate ripped his Lois cords climbing back into shed!! If you see second hand electric blue Lois cords for sale on eBay with a rip in them you know how, actually might be trendy these days with the rip? Edited January 8, 20197 yr by chi blue

Our scorers that day were: Mickey Thomas 6th minute, King Kerry Dixon with a hat-trick. Scored in the 18th, 23rd and 52nd minutes. And to make it even better for us,Paul Canoville rounding off the scoring in the 89th minute.
