It is from the 5-0 game against Leeds in that season.

That was a really entertaining day.

We started in the Lord Palmerston at 11. It was jammed, all regulars. Place emptied when the Leeds coaches arrived and went to park up near the gasworks.

Left the pub around 2 and was in gate 13 for the match. Scoreboard took one hell of a beating from the Leeds fans.

If my memory is correct, that electronic scoreboard was brand new as well.

Packed Bridge.

I thought that picture was taken at the England v Scotland International of 1919.

However, did a quick bit of research ( in other words I googled it !) and found that the only England v Scotland game at The Bridge took place in 1913.

The 1919 game took place at Goodison Park.

Unusual picture due to the angle of the shot, looking at your sisters' outfits, tongue in cheek was about to say, 'Beam me up Scottie,' yet your old shirt kept me earthbound!

How times have changed re getting The Bridge pitch fit to play during the winter months.

The roof on the stand looks dangerous ! Looks like part of it is about to fall off the front !

Indeed. Now we have undersoil heating etc. Pitch has looked good for a number of seasons now. Bit different from when we played Charlton a few seasons ago and the pitch looked like a sandpit.

Micky Fillery

The only time I went to QPR before they turned it into a rabbit hutch stadium, I was standing behind a fella who screamed at Fillery non stop for 90 minutes ( felt like giving him a head massage to calm him down)

Pop Robson was some striker at his peak back in the 1960 and 70s.

He played on until the mid 1980s.

Making 674 first team appearances and scoring 268 goals.

Yet was never capped by England !

He played for us for part of 1982/83. Loaned back to Carlisle Utd in early March 83 .

Started 12 times, plus another 5 times as sub, scoring 5 times, Not a  bad record.

Pop Robson played 11 times and scored 4 goals, when on loan back to Carlisle Utd from early March 83 - early May 83.

Wasn't he a player- coach with us, or have I mis - read that info ?
