North Stand for me though, right down the front, ankle deep puddle, hardly any view over the bow top fencing and then the dog track mesh. Won 2-1.
May 21, 201313 yr Nice one CB, I haven't seen these cuttings before. I was taken out out school to see the ECWC parade down Fulham Broadway, watched the replay with my Mum, my Dad down the boozer watching on TV at Parsons Green and my uncle was there in Athens who stayed over after the first match, always a special place in my heart. May 21, 201313 yr Remember watching that in our back room...Screaming loud when scoring and winning...Then being bullied at school by the brothers RAZA./RAZOR steve n mickey who were arse fans

May 27, 201313 yr Today's Shot Of The Day, taken from the 2-2 draw against Man City on August 21st 1971, which just happens to be the first Chelsea game I ever went to.. I got given the programme for this game from my uncle in around 99, when I was 7. He's a United fan (from Manchester), but said he went down to the game with a few of his mates. The programme was 5p, if I recall correctly. My uncle was telling me about how well Peter Osgood played, not that I really had a clue what he was talking about at the time. It didn't help that he was an alcoholic mind.
May 30, 201313 yr Chelsea v Man Utd 1985 Blimey that brings back some memories I was in the benches that day, think we lost the match but won the fight that day?
May 30, 201313 yr Blimey that brings back some memories I was in the benches that day, think we lost the match but won the fight that day? I went to every game those first 2 seasons after promotion, no one could live with us except the pikeys back then!
May 31, 201313 yr Chelsea v Man Utd 1985 If this is the incident I think it is then I'm surprised it didn't get mentioned in any of the books? I remember a Man Utd. home game around this time when Man Utd bought a few thousand down tucked into the right-hand corner of the North stand terrace (from my view-point in the Shed). The game had only just begun when up went an insulting Munich banner smack-bang, right in the midst of their lot! It soon became apparent that a significant sized CFC mob had infiltrated their end! Chaos then erupted as the CFC lads windmilled outwards in all directions! Plod eventually gained control & because there were too many CFC to budge took the decision to surround the infiltrators. Unsurprisingly, the rest of the game played out with a 'very subdued' away following surrounding a very confident & vocal CFC mob shouting them down, at every opportunity (whilst doing all those airplane actions) to the delight of the rest of the watching Stadium! This was a military precision operation executed with perfection which totally achieved the desired effect ...
June 1, 201313 yr I don't know why but I noticed the height of these - they all seem to be really short compared to now! But this was the team I remember so well - they used to sometimes go to one of the wine bars we went to. And I still have a bit of a thing for Butch - lovely legs! And Kenny Swain gave us a lift home once after watching them training......good times!
