Any game recommendation?

Tempted to get it but going to wait for review first.

Fair. Here are my review predictions for it.

Pros:

-Brilliant art style and graphics

-18 quintillion planets means endless exploration

-Varied wildlife and sense of wonder on each planet you go to

-Sublime sountrack from 65daysofstatic

Cons:

-Lack of story or purpose

-Since you won't run into other players/can't meet with friends means its a lonely gameplay experience

It will probably score around 7-8/10

Note: This is me going in with very low expectations. I want this game to be amazing! I don't think any other game in recent memory has been hyped up so much, and , as a result, I think people will be disappointed.

Anyone picked up No Man's Sky? First impressions?

It's out in the UK tomorrow but some of the yanks on here might have it. Can't wait to get it! Need to wait till pay day though which is Monday...

Yeah I was the same with PES.

First month or so I really liked it then it became stale at an alarming rate. Games felt the same, it became really simple to score over 5 goals a game and the enjoyment factor was gone.

In regards to this trailer the gameplay looks way too fast, almost arcade like in the same way PES 09 was. Messi just sprinting from the half way line past 6 or 7 players before scoring does nothing for me tbh.

The graphics looks superb as usual but gameplay wise the keepers and speed look pretty poor which might kill the experience just like last year.

Have you seen the keepers on FIFA mate haha?

Should see some of the videos I have on my phone, f**king ridiculously bad for me & like an iron curtain for the A.I. lol

Got both metro games in part of the deal for the two saints row games for like a tenner during the Microsoft sale last month.

Only completed the first one but I've played through it twice and got all the achievements, really fun game actually!

I don't get the hype with this game, don't get me wrong I love open world games, but I need there to be some form of story or end game, with this there's literally no goal.

It's £50 or whatever just to fly around planets without needing to do anything.

To each their own of course and I hope that those who are after it enjoy it!

The bugs on FIFA are outrageous. I think it was FIFA 15 when it came out the keepers literally let everything in before the patched it.

I knew nothing about this game except that it's quite a big deal to many people, however your description has made it sound much more interesting to me.

The aim is to upgrade your suit and ship to enough to allow you to travel to the centre of the universe.

Only through exploration do will you find the metals/elements etc. you require to build the upgrades.

My copy of NMS should be arriving this Saturday. I am dying to play it. If you love exploration and discovering new animals, plants, biomes etc this is the game for you apparently.

If you want a story/purpose and contact with loads of NPCs then give it a miss!

Nms getting a bit f a kicking in reviews so far. Lots of reviews saying it becomes boring quickly due to the "Minecraft lite" type of crafting etc.

Yeah it becomes stale VERY quickly going by impressions.

I would be bored stiff just jumping from universe to universe myself roaming about with no real aim other tha shooting rocks and plants. More Gardners of the Galaxy than anything else

Ha! Different strokes for different folks though.

Some people want more of a tranquil experience, such as this. Someone came across a planet which was a tropical paradise. Beautiful!

I'll add that I think a lot of flack that has been thrown at NMS in the past couple of days are from people who feel the game doesn't fill their own version of what they thought it should be. Sean Murray never promised it to be a MMO game, he always emphasised it was about exploration and discovery. This isn't meant to be Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

Picked up No Mans Sky today.

Played it for a only a couple of hours so far but enjoyed it so far.

Can definitely see how it's going to be quite divisive, it's basically a survival game.

The planets look great though and the little I've delved into the crafting system I like it.

I think the game is going to grow and evolve over time, going to be interesting what happens going forward.

I think I will get it, but when the price comes down a bit.

Anyone want a bet at how long it takes someone to reach the centre of the universe? I reckon it'll only be a couple of days.

You're quite critical when it comes to games so I will take this as a good omen!

They did say that freighters and building bases are coming in futures updates, so the game will definitely evolve into something more.

Caved in and pre-ordered NMS on Steam.

I quite enjoyed playing Minecraft and Lego Worlds in the past, so I guess this should be alright for me.

NMS currently averaging 71 on Metacritic. And this is before any of the "big" sites such as IGN, Gamespot etc have reviewed it.

It will be interesting to see what it ends up with, I'm guessing 80 or thereabouts.

I;d say around 70 will probably be the average.

I think critics will give it higher 70s and 80s, and players will give it 60s and 70s, as the player reviews will focus more on the negatives of "er mer gerd, no multiplayer", whilst critics will focus more on its engine and scale.

After my initial hands on with the game I reckon 7/10 is about right for the game.

Is it going to win any game of the year awards? Nope.

But it's quite a relaxing game, it's very pretty. I've got the urge to get back to playing it again, the more I played the more I discovered about what I could do.

It's something different which alone is enough for me to be satisified with my purchase.

Played NMS for 6 hours straight today. Took me a while to get to grips with all the isotopes etc you need to mine, charging life support, mining tool etc.

A jaw-dropping game though. The sheer scale of it is incredible. When I fixed my ship and took off for the first time into space, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and not a load screen in sight. Been to some beautiful planets. Discovered some truly bonkers-looking animals. Some slight tearing and pop up every now and then but that's to be expected.

The lack of empty slots and the fact that you can't stack elements pisses me off but other than that it's been a stonking first few hours.

Got Shadow of Mordor GOTY edition and it's brilliant! Such a fun game to play.

Admittedly it's a bit repetitive at points, but good fun nonetheless.

Especially for the £15 or whatever it was I spent.

Great game mate.

I was hooked on it and not many games these days do that for me.

Hammering Rocket League at the minute until FIFA and BF.
