Any game recommendation?

So I've started playing Red Dead Redemption for the first time, 3 years late but better late than never.

Possibly a controversial opinion but personally I think it's Rockstar's best game, especially the story.

I've got Red Dead Redemption half finished and agree the story is probably stronger than GTA3/GTA4, it's really well made but after a while I found the game was starting to bore me. I think it's the amount of time you spend riding from place to place across landscapes that are impressive to look at but are relatively sparse compared to the bustling cities you get in GTA games.

You can skip journeys if you want to.

I made a point to break in one of the fastest horses in the game so getting around wasn't too lethargic.

Personally I think GTA games are over hyped, they're fun but for me at least the novelty subsides quite quickly.

I agree about the GTA games. GTA3 was amazing because it was the first of its kind and Vice City was also brilliant (probably my favourite Rockstar game). The novelty was starting to wear off for me though by the time GTA4 came out, and the story wasn't engaging enough to make me want to finish the game after I'd got bored of causing random death and destruction. I haven't even bothered with GTA5 yet. Aside from the depreciating novelty value I think getting older has also reduced their appeal; these days I'd much rather be playing something more cerebral like The Last of Us or Heavy Rain.

Two of my favourite PS3 games.

I played through Heavy Rain a couple of times to see what the different endings were like.

I was pretty excited for Beyond Two Souls, which is made by the same studio, but it got mixed reviews so I think I will wait for it to drop in price first.

I was also put off Beyond Two Souls by the mixed reviews... I think that type of game is pretty rare though so I'll probably end up getting it after I've finished with all the last generation's remaining "must play" games.

Great game but I got so frustrated with it and sent it back in a fit of rage.

Nearly completed it on Normal difficulty. The replayability is fantastic.

Keeping me off Football Manager :P

Been playing ruse son of Rome. It is stuningly beautiful, a real next gen showcase graphicaly. Nothing to write home about gameplay wise though, a sort of god if war lite button masher.

I'm really quite unimpressed with FIfa 14 on the PS3. Single player is fine, but online has so many problems. It takes me turning the PS3 on and off about 3 or 4 times sometimes to get into a match, because either it sits at the loading screen doing nothing for hours, or you start a online match and the screen goes black but the sound continues, or it lags out and disconnects. (Finally was playing well in Pro Clubs earlier, had a 9.5 rating in the 82nd minute and the f**king thing froze and disconnected).

It has its moments when I can play quite a few matches in a row, but it's getting worse and worse and I am quite tempted to sell it and try Pro Evo or just not bother and go back to Fifa 13 (not that's it's much better to be honest).

Overview of how I'm getting on with Killzone Shadow Fall on line.

I finished the single player the other night, like previous Killzone titles, the game play was pretty fun but the story left a lot to be desired for.

You can count on one hand the games these days where the story doesn't leave a lot to be desired. It's all about graphics and explosions and who cares about the story.

It annoys me that these people making new games only care about the online maps and dont actually make the game any good. The online game should be a side note but the main attraction.

What i didnt like about GTA was in the clips they let out before the game came out it looked amazing and they said you can do all these different things but actually you cant. It is very limited what you can do online. You cant play missions together. You can race or play death matches. Both get very boring very quickly. It was not worth the hype of the money.

Games like Dead island are fantastic online because you can actually work together to get through the game. Thats what GTA should have done.

Valve make a good online game. TF2, Left 4 Dead, Dota 2, etc... all pretty good and all involve working together as a team.

Have to say I'm having a hard time enjoying Red Dead Redemption, I can only assume it gets better.

Tried the multiplayer while I was taking a break from the campaign, fun for a while but there wasn't really much you could do on your own.

The multiplayer was like a beta version of what GTA online has become, I tried to get into but it did nothing for me.

To be honest, if you've not been sucked in by the story early on, I don't think much will change. I loved riding the horse across the desert and using dead eye to pick off a few guys all at once.

I love the cowboy setting personally and that's what drew me in, if you're a bit indifferent about it, maybe it's not the game for you?

I like Sci-Fi, but it doesn't mean I loved Star Whores Episode II - Attack of the Bones
