Posted December 12, 201113 yr Anelka has completed a two year deal with Shanghai Shenhua. Was a great player for us, picked up a golden boot along the way, settled in straight away and bailed us out the sh*t many occasions with match winning goals. Will have good memories of him in a Chelsea shirt. Good luck The Elk! Nice little transfer as he winds down his playing days.
December 12, 201113 yr So long Nico, I wont miss your apathetic penalties in big competitions or the countless times when you looked like you couldn't be arsed. However, thanks for the goals and the big efforts in the double winning season and on other occasions. Fair play to you. Edited December 12, 201113 yr by Zola
December 12, 201113 yr Good luck to him, he was a very good signing for us, and Its quite nice that we were the one club where he settled and felt at home.
December 12, 201113 yr Author So long Nico, I wont miss your apathetic penalties in big competitions What, you mean like our captain? Jesus, you can't please some can you! Why don't we try a punt on Gordon Durie again.
December 12, 201113 yr BYEEEEEEEE, Although I recognise that he played a part in our successes I won't miss him, was never really my cup of tea! I hope we got some transfer fee for him, even if it was only a token one!
December 12, 201113 yr Have to say I feel pretty ambivalent about him. His attitude in the CL final over penalties was something that I'll not forget. Somehow he escaped the blame even though he should have been taking one of the first 5 penalties and he missed when he did eventually step up. Not a man for the big occasion. A good player but never a great one - at least not for us. Good luck to him in China though.
December 12, 201113 yr What, you mean like our captain? Jesus, you can't please some can you! Why don't we try a punt on Gordon Durie again. I am being a bit mean I know. Like I say he scored 60 goals and played a major part in our double winning season. I am really excited at the thought of who will replace him now that he's being shipped out.
December 12, 201113 yr What, you mean like our captain? Jesus, you can't please some can you! Why don't we try a punt on Gordon Durie again. To be fair he's got a bit of a point. I appreciate what he has done for us & wish him all the best for being a good pro in general, but always felt he had more to give. Perhaps being moved wide right frustrated him.
December 12, 201113 yr Yeah Good Luck. He's gonna need it on £175k a week!! Is that what he's getting?? Wow.
December 12, 201113 yr Yeah Good Luck. He's gonna need it on £175k a week!! Nibs!!!!!!!! I'm shocked!!!!!!!! You made a post that didn't mention Josh!!!!!!!!!!
December 12, 201113 yr Nibs!!!!!!!! I'm shocked!!!!!!!! You made a post that didn't mention Josh!!!!!!!!!! I think my post's these days fall into three categories: 1) Josh - 70% 2) Sturridge - 15% 3) Chelsea players who have had their day (Mikel, Kalou, Anelka, Malouda + soon to be a few more) - 15%
December 12, 201113 yr Good luck anelka Thank you for your services , you stood up tall and mighty , when we dint have drogba and the others ( african nations ) Thanks for your amazing pace and touches Good luck in china P.S : How much transfer fee are we getting from nico to shanghai ? is it free ?
December 12, 201113 yr I always liked anelka quality signing and helped us pick up a few trophy's Now enjoy the rest of your career and thaks for the goals!!
December 12, 201113 yr Made a great impact when he first arrived. Served the club well, although never seemed entirely happy playing out wide. Good luck for the future Nico.
December 12, 201113 yr I liked Anelka, he made it clear he was very happy at Chelsea - maybe one of the few places he really felt comfortable. He scored plenty of goals and brought something different to the team than Drogba. At £15m I'd say he was an unqualified success, how much could Bolton do with him now? However I also think it was time for him to move on we need Sturridge and Lukaku to come through and they are only going to do that with Nic and Didi gone.
