Really hope he gets a chance with us next year and isn't just loaned out. Very excited about this signing. Not a huge name for a huge transfer fee, but a quality youngster with bags of potential. The kind of signings we should be making more of.

this lad is ready for the first team and i have no doubt hell show that in the pre season

Hope so, De Bruyne himself says he'll wait for pre-season to decide what's best for him and Chelsea.

The new rumour I read is that Lille want us to loan them KDB for next year. I wonder if Lille has any player we are after that could end up being part of this deal...

Agreed. If we aren't bring in someone like Hazard, I see no reason to not bring back KDB.

We seem to be engaging in a lot of loan deals for extended periods of time. While that can be good for the development, I'd still like to see guys like KDB, Courtois, Kalas, Bruma, etc. back at CFC for the summer training and USA tour before shipping them out again.

End of season for Kevin de Bruyne!

He is injured,a broken toe..

It is not a surprise,Genk had a amazing come back in teh play-offs and today the key match against Anderlecht could give them hope for the title.

Rsca had to take him out...

Either loan him out to PL or keep him and match him carefully. Even Chamack and Gervinho could play like geniuses in Ligue 1. Hazard will go to Real Madrid anyway I think.

Just tell that to Alan Pardew and Newcastle's scouts.

Is he crying?

No, it's an expression of hurt. They had to pull his toe back in to position. After breaking it, his toe was standing in the wrong direction.

After De Bruyne left the field after 8-9 minutes we were nowhere. Lost 0-4 to Anderlecht, first loss in 4-5 games.

De Bruyne will be fit end may or begin june, so no whorries for his pre-season.

Has he been that important to Genk that him going off early saw them fall apart?

Yes, he was. He was the playmaker in midfield. During the time he was bein treated of the pitch, Anderlecht scored the 0-1. A blow we never really recovered from. His partner in midfield Hyland (ex-Portsmouth) was suspended so we had to switch too many players to be as good as the last few games.

Couldnt find any other thread about KDB - hence a new post in this old toplic.

Seen a rumour today on the telegraph that KDB will be off to Southampton for a season long loan.....but then they also got in a little dig about the fact that he failed to play at Chelsea following his signing in January (failing to acknowledge that he was loaned back to Genk)

Cahill has been absolutely awesome!

Kinda glad he is out of the Euros to get a good rest.

From a Chelsea perspective, I was not disappointed to see Lamps get a rest this summer but I'm not so sure Cahill really needed a break. He didn't play every game for us as AVB didn't use him for a few games after he'd signed and he had the hamstring injury rest after Barca. So as a younger lad who is just starting to make a name for himself as a top centreback it would probably have been better for him to have played and gained experience of international competition and hopefully further confidence to carry into next season.

All for KDB getting loaned to Soton as I can't see him getting much football for us next season (sadly). Only worry is that our recent loanees to prem clubs have not fared well at all in getting to play much football. Josh, PVA, Kakuta.

Lukaku was signed from Anderlecht one year ago amid much fanfare, but hardly featured in the Premier League and soon grew frustrated at his bit-part at Stamford Bridge.

That is not something De Bruyne wants to happen to him.

"I want to adapt quickly"

the 20-year-old told

Zevende Dag

"I have not thought too much about Chelsea lately, I was on holiday with friends. Now, I live from day to day and I will be extremely dedicated from the very first training session at Chelsea.

"Obviously I will have to get used things. I will train with players I have watched and respected for 15 years, but I want to quickly improve the level that I am at.

"I don’t want to have a situation happen to me as happened to Lukaku. I just want to play, but I realise the competition is strong."

And De Bruyne insists that he will not be disappointed if he is loaned out to another club to gain more experience, though he is targeting the chance to prove himself with the Blues in pre-season.

"I won’t feel down if I am loaned to a weaker team just to play"

said the midfielder.

"Chelsea have made a few transfers since I signed. Before these new arrivals it was agreed that I would join on 4th July and go on tour to the United States. I will then have the chance to prove myself and analyse my situation."

De Bruyne really wants to fight for his place, all comes down to how he (plus other youngsters do) in pre-season. But i do like the enthusiasm.
