Kevin De Bruyne

Featured Replies

I wasn't 100% pro this transfer.

But now he is a blue,we have to support him and give him a chance for 200%.

Must be a dream for him,and maybe this can give him a boost to get back to the level he played with the Champion's of Belgium 2010/2011.Only problem for the next 6 months is that Genk is become a sloppy team so I could be quite difficult to get the best out of him.

Come on Kevin!

There is a video with him against us in the CL ..

He looks good in that video. Considering he's a kid, unaccustomed to playing top opposition, a lot of spotlight on him seeing as he's playing against the side that wants him, I think he does well, although I hardly noticed him at the time.

He can pick a pass, he has pace, he has skill, he can cross, he's strong and he looks like Tintin ..

What more do you want ?

I don't think anyone is really writing him off but I do think some are puzzled by this signing. Going back to our CL games with Genk, I remember there being very mixed opinion on the lad. He showed a couple of glimpses of quality and not a whole lot more.

The thing is, we all knew how unbalanced our squad is. Totally over-loaded on older players in decline and very young inexperienced players who the club seem very reluctant to put faith in. So I guess like me, people are expecting us to sign one or two players who will fill the big gaps in our squad NOW. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the club building for the future and nothing would please me more than seeing a young Chelsea side developing into a top team for years to come, but where does that leave us NOW?

Apparantly he'd be out on loan next season too.

On SSN:

Say wha! :300:

Um, huh?

It's one thing to be on loan the rest of this season. Like it or not, I understand it. Next season too? That's just a head scratcher.

That has to be a reporting mistake. I can't see that possibility happening until he gets some training and pre-season matches with the squad.

EXCERPT:

You come with some Champions League experience…

Yes, unfortunately I only played in four of the six group games because I picked up a couple of injuries, but we had some good games and some bad games. At home we played well, but away we didn't do so well. For a team like Genk it was good to play in the Champions League but Chelsea is always there.

How did you find Chelsea as opponents?

When we played in London it was very difficult for us, we didn't stand a chance. At home we played much better and I could show more that I could play a good game. If the team is on a down, you are part of the team, and you can only show yourself to be good if the team is good also.

What can Chelsea fans expect from you as a player?

At Genk I have played on the left of midfield but when I was younger I played as an offensive central midfielder. I am a creative footballer with two good feet I think, especially the right one. At Genk I create chances for the team.

Finally, there are also exciting times for the Belgian national team…

Yes it is exciting. There are a lot of exciting young players coming up, people like Vincent Kompany at Manchester City, Thomas Vermaelen at Arsenal. Eden Hazard is the best player in France and I think we will have a strong team for the next campaign. It's nice to be a part of that and around it, but it's also difficult to get into that squad. It is becoming a very good team.

IMO, his crosses, passes are far better than Malouda.

Let's have faith in our own. Unfortunately, AVB with that his statement about the boy, may not even give him a chance to prove himself.

Anyway, welcome boy!

11.47 Here's Chelsea new boy and extremely young-looking man Kevin de Bruyne:

Three years ago I was playing with the young guys in Genk, but now I am making a transfer to Chelsea. It's almost impossible - a real dream come true. To come to a team like Chelsea is a dream but now it's a reality and I have to work hard to achieve the level that's necessary. It's a few steps (up). Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world and if you see the level they have compared to Genk then it is a real difference but it's something I want to achieve and I will work very hard to get there.

I signed now and now I will go back for six months on loan to play some games and gain more experience. Next season it would be normal to be loaned out, but I will start the preparations here at Cobham, and if it goes really well maybe I will stay but probably it will be a team a little level less than Chelsea but bigger than Genk. I am patient. It will be very hard to play in the beginning but if you can train with these guys you will get to a better level than in the Belgian league for sure.

So sounds like after finishing this seasona t Genk, he'll train with the squad in the summer and then probably go out on loan again.

We could do with him now, but a good singing for the future, we may still need him next year so loaning him again could be a bad idea.

All in all, I'm pretty chuffed with this signing, VDW/Azpilicueta & Mouthino/Lucas to round of the transfer window would be lovely. I can dream.

Yeah, I'll be happy for him to start playing for us now. We need something new immediately, and I don't see the point of loaning him back. I suppose we are getting him for quite cheap, and he is young so afterall not a bad signing. Just need a quality winger/midfielder now. Hopefully see more action later on.

Let's hope he can replicate these goals for Chelsea

(if he ever plays for us!!!!)

I think KDB will do well.

I believe it was PDV that first alerted Chelsea to him.

Mind you he was the guy that recommended SWP.

I fancy AVB to work wonders with KDB, ably assisted by RDM.

PVA and KDB on the left, it sounds like the dream ticket.

So long as JOM doesn't get a game, I think this could be a good era for Chelsea.

IMO of course.

I think DB is talking BS about JOM.

Unless Josh's middle name is Oscar, I agree with him entirely.

I am really too pooped from w**king to sort it out without intensive meditation?
