Kevin De Bruyne

Seems like a good long term buy, we're really starting to put together a quality core of young players which should see us well in the long term.

As for all the talk comparing us with our rivals, I'll accept the man u one but the one against arsenal and spurs is a load of crap.

Last season was one of our worst and we still finished above both, all arsenal ever does is get a good run of fixtures then crumble when they play a decent team and spurs have done even less. And for all those people buying into the spurs hype here's a little stat for you, in the last 15 league matches they've played 3 teams in the top 8 (drew with us and lost to stoke and man city). Hardly the "best team in ingerland"

Let's not forget this is spurs best season for a long time and they're only 5 points ahead of us in one of our worse.

Oh and let's remember arsenal bought oxlade a year ago and he's only just gotten a run in the team which is probably one of the weakest arsenal teams in years.

I'll say it. Tintin is not good enough.

If he proves me wrong I'll admit it. Don't think that day is coming, though.

Where do you get that ridiculous assumption from, give the kid a chance will ya !!

Hitsu I might be wrong but reckon they signed him Summer 2011. The issue with KDB is we haven't replaced Anelka and with the glaring lack of pace and width, it is just puzzling that we sign one and loan him right back. I might be wrong but if AVB rated him highly, meeting we are not creating or scoring a lot, he would have sanctioned and offer of say an extra £1m to Genk to ensure he came in this January. Will he be motivated playing for Genk till the end of the season knowing he belongs to Chelsea?

I think he will be a decent player for us, whats baffling is that we have bought no one that can score goals or create chances (which is clearly our problem) to join the team immediately, we could do with an attacking midfielder or winger now, not in 18 months.

Your right, what we should have done is let elder players leave (ahem Anelka, Alex , more this summer) while bringing in young, hungry players to start integrating (Luiz, Ramires, Mata, Cahill, Sturridge)...Shame we didn`t do any of that though...

I love the sarcasm as usual, as if you can't make your points like a normal person. Don't see why a regular conversation can't be had. Anyway, to answer your point, Luiz, Ramires, Cahill, Mata were ALL established players in their teams before coming to Chelsea which is why they all cost over 15-20 million pounds, Cahill the exception.

When I say young players I'm talking about the ones rotting on the bench like Josh, Bertrand, Kakuta (loaned out), Piazon in reserves, Lukaku etc. and the thing is you know exactly what I'm talking about you just want to argue but that's cool... whatever.

From watching him play against us. That seems to be a fair standard to use.

As I said, if I'm wrong I'll be the first to say so. I'll do it happily, as he plays a position of great need. We should get an inkling sometime next season.

That fact that no one else was even rumored to interested in him - not now, not last summer, tells you all there is to know about the player.

Possibly unrelated, but it reminds me of one of Warren Buffett's quotes on spending: If today you buy something you dont need, tomorrow you might have to sell something you need.

Or in our case, you might not be able to buy someone you need.

2 games? Wow, thats a huge amount.

Last summer plenty of teams were rumoured to be interested, how many teams were interested in Ramires? How many teams were interested in Sturridge? We have no idea who were after him and why they dopped out, it may have been as simple as they knew he would move to chelsea so gave up on him.

How many games have you watched him in, dkw? You seem to support the club policies no matter what transpires. Can you explain your reasons for believing De Bruyne is a good pickup? I don't know one way or the other, I admit that, but the only way I could judge were the games vs Genk, and to me he didn't look anything special. If you followed him closely and can voice an informed opinion please enlighten those of us who didn't.

I have seen enough of him to think he is decent value at £7 m (one fifth of Andy Carroll :-) He is unlikely to be an instant starter but is quick, skilful and tenacious. Truly a lot better than most of what I have seen in our Ressies and Youth.

I think this is a good singing for us, at a good price.

The problem is getting him in, why has he gone back out on loan, that for me doesnt make sence.

Just on another note I would not have sent kakuta out on loan again, even as an impact player from the bench he offers somthing we dont have

As did Josh. A couple more injuries and we're up the creek

Winger checklist:

1: Can play either wing: ?

2: Can pass with both feet: ?

3: Dead ball specialst: ?

4: Has pace: ?

5: Capable crosser: ?

6: Scores/creates goals: ?

7: Works hard off the ball: ?

8: Not overpriced: ?

9: Young: ?

10: Blonde: ?

10/10

............who put 5 past us at the Bridge ?????????????

The loan back bit is stupid.

He should be training with the first team, or playing in the reserves to get English experience.

I agree but I think we got him for a lower price now that we agreed he can stay in Genk. I don't think this is a bad thing. If the boy plays a great spring with his old team he might just be in perfect condition for us instead of hanging out at Cobham with the reserves. He is getting better by every competitive game.

The loan back bit is stupid.

Now we're getting him for a very reasonable price and he'll be at Chelsea well in time for the pre season in the summer. That's one transfer negotation less to worry about. I rather see him play competitive matches every week in Belgium than rot away in the reserves playing the odd reserves match here and there. Yes, he would be training alongside better quality players, but getting experience from competitive matches is much more valuable for the lad. Besides, I don't think we would've got him without this arrangement unless we paid silly money for him. And even that might not have guaranteed that we would've got him straight away.

Welcome Kevin!

Coco, we had a winger like that who was a success. Named after Homer's favorite beer. Signs are good for this boy.

How did things go so bad with Duff (actually based on what i have seen at fullham I would still have him ahead of malouda)

but a player with so much quality, he's only 32 now. was it the sholdur dislocation, he just all of a sudden lost the ability to take any on for us

I havent said whether I think he will do well our not, because I don't know as I havent seen enough of him. But I'm wiling to give him a chance, yet some are writing him of.
