Kevin De Bruyne

I'm sure the loan next season isn't a dead certainty yet like he made it sound like. He'll get an opportunity to impress in the summer, and even if he does have to go on loan, maybe it would only be for the first half of the season. Just hope that we would loan him to a team that actually would use him every game.

Anyways, I'm excited for this transfer. Welcome to CFC KDB!

Hopefully he'll impress and next year we can have somehting like:

-------------------------------Cech

---Ivanovic-------Luiz----------------Terry-------Bertrand

----------------------------Romeu

----------------Ramires----------------Mata

De Bruyne--------------------------------------------Kakuta

---------------------Torres/Lukaku/Other

Good signing, again shows the clubs ambition going forward. I agree with the loan back, we need something now but dumping that pressure on him would be unfair for a player that is quite obviously not the finished product yet.

DE BRUYNE BECOMES A BLUE

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Kevin De Bruyne from KRC Genk.

The 20-year-old Belgian international joins compatriots Thibaut Courtois (currently on loan at Atletico Madrid) and Romelu Lukaku on the club's books, but will spend the rest of the 2011/12 season back on loan with Genk in the Jupiler League.

De Bruyne is a product of Racing Genk's academy, having signed as a 14-year-old after training with Gent from the age of 12. Now 20, he was born in Drongen in the north-west of Belgium on June 28, 1991.

He made his debut for Genk at the end of the 2008/09 season and by the next campaign was a regular in the side which finished in mid-table, contributing one goal, a winner against Standard Liege, in 24 outings.

Last season was one of huge personal and team success, as De Bruyne made his national team debut in August 2010, albeit a 1-0 loss in Finland, before helping Genk to the league championship.

During the campaign, the pacy left-winger contributed five goals and 16 assists in 22 games, and has taken that form into this season, one in which he has also faced Chelsea twice in the Champions League. Genk were beaten 5-0 at Stamford Bridge but earned a 1-1 draw in Belgium.

going out on loan for the next season and a half by his own account, so really look forward to seeing him in a blue shirt in the next 2 pre season tours, then on the bench for 5 months, then in another premier league team's shirt for 5 months then out the door for under a mill ...... as undoubtley there will be another new manager by then who will deny ever having wanted to sign him in the first place......lol

And being loaned out the following season.

hmmmmmmmmmm

Hard to get excited about a player who we'd be effectively signing one and a half year later. Who knows what would have happened by then?

In all probability spot on... unfortunately

What are the club playing at in the transfer market ???

Welcome to Kevin!

Forget the motivations or reasons for him coming here, he's a Chelsea player now and that is that. We should all get behind him now that he is here.

Personally, I think its awesome to get a guy from Ealing at this club and hope he does the business for us.

Is the Ealing thing right then, I saw it on his Wiki page and thought it must be a wind up. But then I do remember it being mentioned before the CL games.

According to reports, he will indeed be loaned out again next season to another premiership club?

Welcome to the lad anyway, just a shame we might not see him in Chelsea blue until 2013

It probably all depends on how he'll do for us in pre-season and on trainings.. so if he's on level, he could stay with us, if not, loan to a PL team would suit us/him i guess.

Don't need a new manager for that. The current manager doesn't want him.

I have seen enough of him to think he is decent value at £7 m (one fifth of Andy Carroll :-)

If you believe that Chelsea have a transfer budget, and in the era of FFP you should, then that's £7 million (actually, £9 million) less that can be added to the transfer fee for a needed player. £9 million less for the next Modric. Or whoever AVB actually values.
