BBC 3 (Freeview Channel 7), 9pm to 10pm (UK time)

"One-off documentary in which Clarke Carlisle explores the recent allegations of racism in the sport"

I think we can all guess how impartial this is gonna be, might be an idea to give it a miss to avoid sticking a boot through the TV screen.

A one hour documentary needs plenty of time to make. Either this is a rushed half-arsed mess, or they started this well in advance before they knew what the result of the trial would be. Not sure if this means that they started doing it hoping that Terry would be found guilty or if they actually went and did an impartial fair look at the issue on a national level and not just one or two high profile cases. Will it be proper investigative journalism or sensationalist bullsh*t?

It will be edited in a way that will SEEM to show .........A)..All football fans at grounds are racist

B)..No one tolerates black managers

C)..Black players struggle to survive in teams and are cherry picked

for abuse

PS..I dont know the answer to this. Perhaps someone knows....Are there any black members in the FA

It will be completely one sided and show football grounds, supporters, players and everyone around the sport to be members of C18. Just something for the middle classes to shake their heads at and make more legislation to sterilise the sport and make it more corporate. There's bound to be a whole section dedicated to John Terry and eighties footage of the Bridge. Oh and an appearance from Doreen Lawrence.

Does racism exist in society? Yes, of course. As football is a microcosm of society, there's no question that there's racism in football. However, the fact that the doc is titled "Is Football Racist?" gives me the impression that it'll be sensationalist tripe and not an objective examination of racial issues in modern sport. Football in and of itself can't be racist or not racist. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

What a ridiculous title for a program.

What on earth is this country coming to?

Racism is an issue, of course it is, but it isn't the be all and end all for gods sake.

This kind of sh*t that constantly keeps it in the limelight is not helping anyone.

:face_palm:

Yes, Will not be watching this as the television may pay the penalty.

Unfortunately it appears that, Clarke Carlisle, Herman Ouseley, Garth Crooks and the few have been empowered by those with the agenda to carry on beating the racism drum regardless of fact or guilt. This act of what essentially is aimed at thought control can be seen at work everyday in the media and usually goes hand in hand with defined fake charities. You do not need to look very hard to find examples, it seems that those empowered have very few restraints put on them and will repeat Ad nauseam.

Anyone actually watching it? John Barnes just been on with a load of paranoid bullsh*t about the lack of black managers.

Yeah, lets ignore him being a sh*te manager and blame it on racism. Same with Ince.

This programme has been talking about how obvious racism is in football in THIS country yet they had to go to Poland to get footage of it in a stadium

They had to get the programme broadcasted as soon after the Terry trial possible, so that it would be "current" enough to lure the maximum amount of viewers. They probably couldn't afford to wait for the domestic season to start, so that could go and shoot material from domestic matches.

Having been a fan since about 2000, can someone fill me in on why everyone immediately labels Chelsea as a racist team? I know there was hooliganism running rife in the 70'sish but wasn't that a problem for every team? Case in point- Just read a tweet from a Spurs fan claiming how Chelsea fans made hissing/gassing noises during a match, despite us having a Jewish owner who 99.9% of us fully cheer. Plus my dad's Jewish and has worked as a steward at the Bridge since 2003/2004 and he hasn't complained once about anti-semitism and he's quite sensitive to that sort of stuff. There's always going to be a rotten apple in every basket, but don't let that spoil the orchard.

Because the media do. Unfortunately the London media in particular has always favoured West Ham and Tottenham over any other London clubs. Various Tottenham fans I know of have said anti-Semitic abuse these days is extreme at Upton Park and minimal at Stamford Bridge and the Emirates even less so but will West Ham ever get criticised for their anti-Semitic fans? No because they are the "Academy of Football" and all that bull.

Unfortately like all clubs we have our fair share of idiots and anti-Semitic chants are common theme at matches v Spurs from my experience but it is again a minority that join in.

In the 80s the NF targeted a lot of English clubs to try and recruit more members. Clubs like Arsenal were more resistant, others like us and Millwall slightly less so but that was probably as much to do with the performance on the pitch at the time.

the bbc used to make quality drama and comedy programmes! they have gotten worse than ever since they relocated north! too many overpaid idiots in the bbc has caused a lack of finance for quality programmes so they are reduced to cheap sensationalism!

Was a bit disappointed they didn't focus on the positives Chelsea are doing re coaching and bringing through asian players ('positive discrimination') and that we have a black assistant manager just to balance up JT and Y issues. All in all tho it wasn't a bad programme if the title a bit ridiculous and the conclusion positive for English football despite having to go back in time to unearth problems.

That bit was cringeworthy.

He didn't back it up with any examples, or bits of evidence or any form of proof, just seemed like paranoid ramblings to me.

Personally I loved the John Barnes bit, it was absolutely hilarious!

"I don't get jobs because I'm black" I'd have loved someone to tell him the truth!

"You don't get jobs coz you're sh*t"

In any walk of life I can go and find discrimination, be it against race, sex, sexual orientation, whatever I choose. The program was another waste of my licence money!

How boring is Clarke Carlisle as well!!

Has anyone here read the Jason Marriner book and how he breaks down the MacIntrye expose they did on the Chelsea Headunters? Seems like they are using similar tactics here.

I feel like this will be one piece of programming that I won't feel particuarly guilty in downloading in a dishonest fashion. They don't deserve the money.

Racism is an issue, of course it is.

See I don't think it is. I think when the majority say that racism just is not acceptable then I don't think it is rife, that's a long way from years gone past.

Yes you will always get idiots, but you cannot get everyone to reason hence why we still have prisons for those who rape, abuse children, steal and murder.

Clearly there are opportunities for Black Managers ( Ruud Gullit, Paul Ince ) 2 off the top of my head. But ask yourself this question why is no one asking why there are no Female Managers in the premier League, maybe someone can correct me here but I've never known one. Is it such a bizzare thing to think it should happen? Am I sexist or is it my mind that just reasons that it just seems highly unlikely,

Food for thought anyway.
