i know ramires offers a lot going foward but i rather put him back behind and lampard more foward as the only reason he is getting criticized is because people expect him to do the same job he did before but dont realise that he is getting played to deep, he might 34 but he has never based his game on speed so i can see him playing top level until he is 36 resting more yes, but he will still do the job no doubt.

Based on current performances:

Thats right I said it, no double pivot bullsh*t. 1 DM who does nothing but sit in front of the back four. 2 CMs with licence to go forward, but at least one with an engine of Essien proportions to help cover when defending swift attacks. Two WINGERS as opposed to attacking midfielders who drift around the cetnre playing square Barcelona-like balls across the pitch.

Hazard has looked most dangerous for us this year when he's been on the left or the right, running at players and commiting them. That's what he needs to stick to. The problem is, Mata really isn't a winger, he is a second striker or AM, so we can';t play him on the wing like that, we have to accomodate him behind Torres usually, which means we can't play that solid 3-man CM, we have to play 2, unless we are happy to sacrifice width all together and play with Hazard & Mata both just behind Torres and no-one out wide, but that means we have to rely on fullbacks for width, and our fullbacks can't cross.

We play better when he's not in the team, he slows our play down too much

romeu and mikel are also slow players and meireiles is not the fastest, plus lampard is always on the right spot at the right time and attacks the box better than no one in the premier league, id never drop him

I agree with this for the most part. I would also like to see Ramires or Oscar alongside Mikel. Might work out better than Meireles.

And I would rotate Moses, Sturridge and obviously Marin when he recovers.

I'd agree. Raul compliments Mikel. He does all the ground work so that Mikel can do what he is best at -glide around.

but I can't see RDM changing any time soon and in that formation it would be hard for Mata, like Zeta already mentioned, unless we moved him to midfield so he would be further ahead of the other two...which is pretty much the 4231 posted above.

Depends who we were playing really. For a normal premier league game against an average opponent:

That doesn't make the point any less valid? I love Lamps as much as the next guy, but he does slow the game down dramatically & we've looked better without him.

I'd be tempted to play Romeu ahead of Mikel, depending on his fitness.
