Victor Moses role this season?

Featured Replies

What role do you think he'll play for you this season?

Do you think he'll be a first team starter or 2nd half sub similar to Kalou?

I started this post as I think he will be one to watch this season now at a top 4 club

What are your thoughts?

Should start off as a sub but I see him working his way into the starting 11 on the right hand side.

He will be good cover for Torres and Ramires.

I'd like to see him given a chance in the role on the right that Sturridge is sometimes asked to play - Sturridge is not a winger, he knows he's not, and it shows often as he cuts inside impeccably and then shoots abysmally. Moses will (hopefully) still be able to beat his man, but provide better end product. Sturridge can then be a dedicated backup to Torres.

Hopefully Ramires will go back to midfield & Moses will take his position. Sooner rather than later, because Ramires doesn't look himself this season. We need him back on form.

I see him getting a chance (maybe Saturday) to show what he can do on the right of the three, if he does it well i see him cementing that place as his.

For me he is the perfect right 'winger' to go with Hazard on the left.

Alan

I really don't think we would have gone after him with such persistence if we had no intention to give him a lot of opportunities, We clearly wanted a right sided attack minded player as can be seen with the players that we seemed to be targeting. Really hope he gets his debut vs QPR, were we to stick him on the left I think he could give bosingwa nightmares

Realistically when our squads at it's best, I assume he'll just be a squad player, which will be used as a sub most matches.

I see him playing on the left of Hazard on Saturday with Mata out.

^^ this for this weekend but then deployed on the right in subsequent games. Personally I rate him and would play him a lot based on what I've seen. Ramires to take centre again. Sturridge as cover for Torres who I'd avoid playing on the right as much as I could...

I see him as an impact player. His energy and pace is what we need in tight games. I think he is on the right side as a winger or midfielder. Hope to see him soon in action.

It could be tough for him as he would have to replace Ramires or Mata and lets be honest he isnt any where near as good as either of them. I see him more of a sub to change things up. I dont think Ramires would suit the deeper midfield role. We should also have Marin back dont forget and think he will be good for us.

I'd certainly rather see him play there then at right wing.

Im not sure which he would be worse at. Our new system just doesnt seem to suit him. 4-3-3 was best for him imo.

Like Marin, Oscar and Cesaer he will need to be given a good run out against solid opposition to see if he is up the task....if he can play to his full potential there is a good opportunity he can make the first team...if not he will be a good bench warmer... if he is prepared to sit and wait. I have difficulty in understanding what I would describe as decent players arriving here who were first team choices week in and week out in their former clubs and then are prepared to sit on the bench knowing that the opportunities will be few and far between...unless it's all explained up front when the initial approach is made that they will be no more than a squad player given the talent thatthis and other big money clubs, (RM, Barca, City, PSG) have at their disposal, or do the players all buy into the 'squad' philosophy without moaning because they think they should be in the first 11 each week because their name rather than their performance......perhaps another question for another day?

Benchwarmer. I just can't seem him getting games, let alone a start unless we are plagued with injuries. Might play in the Capital One Cup or whatever it's called

hasnt oscar proven hes up to the task already? hes already bossed some big games, i think its quite clear he is the real deal

He hasn't bossed any big games for Chelsea yet though to be fair.

He has put in some decent & promising performances but we are still yet to see the lad given 90 mins. I hope we see it soon.

Bit of a 'glass half empty' sort of opinion.

Whilst I appreciate he will have to work hard to be picked ahead against the liked of Mata & Hazard for the big games I think he might surprise some people for us this season. We have lacked width over the last few seasons and now we have the luxury of having a wealth of options to choose from- that can only be a good thing.

I hope he starts tomorrow to be honest.

Unfortunately not for Chelsea....

Unfortunately not for Chelsea....

I`m sure it will come, when he came on in the 2nd half of the debacle against Madrid our midfield looked a lot more fluid almost immediately, and he was demanding the ball as soon as he came on.
