You're missing the point! They are both not good enough to lead our line yes. Thats because we never signed anyone in the Summer. So yes we have to make do until January and the Summer.

He doesn't get into the right positions either. I've watched him closely. Sometimes he seems to move into positions where its nearly impossible for Mata etc to deliver a decent ball to him without it getting intercepted by the opposition. Its almost as if Torres hides in a cluster of oppositon players to do this. Other times he just does not get in the box. Tottenham away was a frustrating example. He never got in the box as much as we were expecting and then comes Sturridge. What does Sturridge do? Gets in the box and scores.

And there in lies the problem with that...in order to "try" Studge and Torres at the same time, it'd require you remove midfield strength. Like I said, everything seems to revolve around helping Torres succeed...but perhaps that is something that just can not be accomplished.

There are some players even proffessionals who are scared to get the ball.This could be due to fatigue or fear of responsibility. I feel that Torres at times lacks that confidence to recieve the ball and deliver by scoring a goal or what not.

Your the one acting like hes gods gift with the goals hes scored. Drogba, now he scored important goals. Use your common sense to work out the difference between him and Drogba. If you want to class Torres goals this season as important (we all know what important goals means) then there must be about 5 players at every club who score important goals.

And yes IMO he hides from the ball, hence why he never gets into the box as much as he should/could.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, Sturridge has been given 220 minutes on the field - he has scored two goals in this amount of time, but generally speaking you should give your second choice striker a lot more time on the field and than expect him to produce something. Most of the time Sturridge is brought on we are chasing a result with less than 10 minutes to go and we struggle to even get the ball into the box.

As a parallel Chicharito has had 700 minutes on the field while he is competing with far better players than Torres. Dzeko has had 600 minutes on the field within a squad that also bolsters Kun; Tevez and Balotelli. Only Liverpool are in a similar position to us having to use Suares in most of their games and that's mainly due to their inability to score without him. On the other hand if anyone here seriously thinks that if you take Torres and replace him with Sturridge, Mata; Hazard; Oscar and our defenders would score less goals are deluding themselves.

Mata; Hazard; Oscar are so good that they would create chances for themselves and even a donkey like Andy Carroll would score the occasional goal when he has them lined up behind him.

Well, i've never been to a Chelsea game since i live 3000KM away and i probably will not earn in my entire lifetime how much Ross Turnbull earns per week to go to a Chelsea game ever in my life but Chelsea is second in my life priority list (behind my family), even my GF is below Chelsea. I am one of those fans that will be with the team even if we play in the 5th division(if there is one) but there are some things i can't stand and thats Fernando Torres. I said earlier, i like him as a person but as a player he is a total failure and he is dragging the team down(maybe a bit harsh). What i want to say is , Fernando Torres is our weak spot.

I said Torres pathetic player. Booo Hooo! Doesn't mean I dislike or hate him as a person. As a player, as a striker his appearance/minutes -goal record is pathetic and his overall time at Chelsea has been a failure which you could also say is pathetic. Harsh maybe but its true.
