No it means you have (finally) found someone who shares the same opinion- that is all, don't put words in my mouth.

It took a few days and numerous posters to disagree with you and take your arguments apart bit by bit but eventually you have found someone who agrees with you!! Good for you!

Actually there were quite a few who disagreed. That doesn't bother me. You have people that still have faith in Torres (too much). Oh well its their opinion. My problem with you, is that you feel so strongly about my opnion that you had to say/agree that I'm not a real Chelsea fan. Thats why we are arguing not because you disagree with me on the subject.

As long as you respect each others loyalty........brush these fools aside.

Oh the irony

Im so confused. What Irony? Where have I questioned another fans loyalty besides telling RTC to go and support Rangers AFTER he told me I'm not a Chelsea fan.

Please explain.

Sturridge might be a selfish player, but the folks in this thread will have us know that we should get behind all our players despite their cons.

We have gotten behind Torres for two years, maybe put some trust into Daniel Sturridge for a change instead of making false statements which don't apply to players you personally dislike.

Oh I've got no problem giving him a shot, would I prefer Moses get the opportunities though? yes.

But on the previous page or two of this discussion, I believe, I posted a potential roster idea that included Studge so I would be willing to include him despite his cons...but should the choice arise I would feel more confident in Moses than Sturridge.

So you prefer to play a player who's highest goal tally is 6 goals and who was never played as a forwarding leading the line instead of Sturridge - that makes perfect sense.

Lets give Sturridge a few games in a row and come back to this argument.

Sturridge should lead the line now and lets see how he fares. My only problem with him is that he only has a few monhs left in his contract so his heart does not seem in it. We have a very bad strike force, our worst for years for differing reasons.

All I will say is that should Sturridge want any chance at getting quality minutes, impressing against Sweden for country would be a good start.

No one said a thing after he helped England win a penalty in their last competitive matches - I guess you also don't recall the time when the "selfish" Sturridge setup Welbeck

McLovin and RFC, I really haven't got time for internet wars, I didnt sign up for this. If I wanted to I would just sign up to an Arsenal forum and troll them.

You don't have to agree with me, I really do not care if you don't, I will debate as much as possible with argument and counter argument and will agree to disagree if we are getting no where.

What I don't like especially since you do not know me is for you to question my fan status. I may in your opinion have far fetched views but it does not give you the right to stray off topic and personally attack me which is how this all started.

I'm willing to bury the hatchet and just debate like any normal fans should. If not well then fine..

I thought all the fuss was about scoring goals? Torres helps Chelsea do lots of things, he just doesn't score often. If we are concerned about drawing fouls then Torres is a superb player? I just checked and he has suffered 17 fouls through 11 games.

I also know full well that Sturridge does occassionally pass, I mean just about everyone has to get assists occassionally. I'd just like to see him think a little bit more and help the team take high percentage shots.

Thats what we paid £50million for. Those 'alot of things' were meant to be a bonus not the other way round.

My apologies if my sarcasm wasn't easy to see.

Yet you use Sturridge selfishness as a stick to beat him over the head with and promote Moses ahead of him because of his perceived selfishness.

Please take your time and read the article below - Moses actually takes shots more often than Sturridge based on last year's statistics:

sorry for not seeing your sarcasm, but such is some of the love for Torres on here, it really is difficult to tell.

Good read, and valid statistics so I will take all of that into consideration here forward...there are a few factors to bring into consideration with those statistics though, including Moses' prominant role at Wigan. None the less thank you for that article.

He was in a more prominent role yet scored half the goals Sturridge did here from more shots and 1/3 more time on the field in a team that scored roughly 20 goals less than we did in the League last season.

We do seem to be going around in circles, so i'll wrap this up. 80% of us now fear Torres has about as much potency as a gnat.

20% of us feel he's doing a blinding job!

I think 100% of us (& everyone else to be honest), must think Nando's transfer has turned out to be the worst piece of business the football world has ever seen.

Well,maybe not the dippers.

Or Nando's agent.

Or his bank manager.

OK guys

The Torres thread will continue and rightly so - he is after all a Chelsea player and this is a Chelsea forum so therefore it is a credible debate.

Can we just cut back on the 'my jibe is better than your jibe' as there are school playgrounds out there losing their jibe cred!

I doubt many of us want to log in to read this sort of stuff.

Cheers

Loz

Is there anyway to delete all of that nonsense? I don't want to accidently read that all again!

Getting back to the topic on hand: Torres.

I wanted him when we got him and was hopeful that he would become the player that we all thought he could be.

Defended him to everyone I could talk to when he started off poorly.

Defended him when the poor start lingered.

Hoped he would turn it around last season.

Slightly upset when he didn't but hopeful it would change.

Cheered when he scored the goal against Barcelona and tried to convince myself that was enough.

Hoped that he would suddenly become the world class striker I originally thought he could be.

Have bounced back and forth from elation to anger over the course of this year.

In a lot of ways I do see marginal signs of improvement and I don't think he has always been the reason we have lost the games we have. Unfortunately, he is often times the reason we may not win games. His passing and link up play has been good and I love his energy (for the times he shows it) but we need goals. I just don't think he can be relied to score the goals we need to win games. I told myself he needed until at least January before I started calling for a replacement and I will stick with that but right now I don't see anything changing. God, I hope I am wrong though because nothing would please me more then Torres going off and shutting up every asshole who laughed at us.
