I'm no Sturridge fan & he was very wasteful but he looked much more of threat than Torres today.

Torres performance today was as bad as i've seen, it really was like playing with 10men

Torres MUST GO IN JANUARY, no "IF" or "BUT": HE MUST GO.

0/10 today.

When OWN FANS are literally CHEERING him getting subbed then he is a dead man walking at the club.

Here we are again.

- What's new?

- Nothing.

- Ahh, i know how bad you feel now.

- It's ok, i got used to it by now and already lost my faith.

My imaginary conversation in my head.

It really was a dreadful performance. I've been as patient with him as I can be. Enough is enough. There have been times when I've thought that he's played well despite the harsh criticism he's received, but there aren't enough words in the English language to describe how poor he was today. We aren't going to win against decent opposition when we get nothing up top for an hour.

4. Profit.

My language is more suited to insult someone than everything else.

Torres had another mare today which is sad because I hoped with Sturridge likely to shoot on sight it might take some defenders away from him and I even bet on him to score the first Goal.

Got to give credit to Danny today as hes not had that much game time but got into the right positions and made the right runs time and time again, still greedy but also unlucky where a couple of his runs the ball was an inch out when he got to it so a good conection was difficult, I'd play him against Juve on todays comparison.

Luiz again at fault and seems to be a weak link when comapred to JT or Ivan, I think Ceasar is doing well at RB and got some good crosses in today, I'd have Ivan at CB with Cahill for Juve.

Just coming out of ground, just to say Chelsea fans as one have lost patience with Torres after yet another dismal showing without hunger or passion.

I strongly believe this is the beginning of the end for him.

Now he has lost the faith of the thousands of true blues his days are numbered.

Sigh what a shame. About 90% of the fans were behind him cheering him on trying to build his confidence these last 2 years but it's not worked. The curse of the Chelsea striker strikes again.

I believe today was my breaking point. I was at the point anyway of giving Studge a fair run of matches but today just confirmed that Danny needs to get a fair go until January. I've supported Torres, I've cheered for Torres, and I've even had it in my mind that he could still turn it around for us.

He cannot. It's time to move on.

Give the time to Danny to see how he does. Either way, we need another striker in January.

I don't see why we shouldn't give Sturridge the games until January now. When has this guy ever had a run up front ? give him a run, we have nothing to lose because we don't have anyone else who could do a better job.

It's exactly what I've been saying all along - I never said that Sturridge is going to rescue us but currently there is no question who creates more danger for us, to score a goal.

Agree he can be frustrating at times, but he's a threat. Torres looks like he's running in treacle when going forward. Sheva was more of threat than him.

Even though Shevchenko was finished at the highest level i truly believe he would have scored more than Torres does. Shevchenko despite not scoring was never afraid to shoot.

I guess it was inevitable that when the day come that both Torres and Sturridge got playing time in the centre in the same game:

a) Torres would be crap

b) Studge would miss glorious chances

Thus openign the door to the 'Studge vs Torres' debate.

Based on today's game I would be starting Studge up front from now on. Yes he missed the chances but we at least got a glimpse of what things could be like with a centre forward who creates a little space for himself, who gets beyond the last defender and who actually moves when he doesn't have the ball rather than loafing about making himself ridiculously easy to mark.

I have probably been torres biggest fan on here but today I feel I can no longer defend him! Sturridge movement compared to his was embarassing!

Don't want to comment to much because there is going to be enough hate on here but he just doesn't look like he wants to get in the goal scoring positions anymore. If sturridge could finish he would be nailed on starter but we are going to have to make do with what we have until january.

By the way, whilst he is still at the club I will always have the hope he turns it around and he will always have my full backing but this is my view on things right now. Looking at the games we have until january he is still going to have a lot of chances because sturridge can't play them all so I still cling onto some hope.

Spot on Loz.

Danny's movement was fantastic and put Torres to shame. He isn't match fit and match sharp, that much is obvious but he needs a run, he really does. I don't see how there can be any argument to this now.

I'm done with Torres now and judging by the reaction to him from the away support today the good faith and feeling has gone for good. A few more starts and toothless showings and I'd wager the support is going to turn very quickly indeed.

The sooner he goes back to Liverpool the better. I have no doubts he'll start scoring again straight away with them, but with his current form we may have to pay them another £50m to take him.

Agree with everything except the first line. Based on today? Torres has been piss poor since he joined and hasn't deserved to keep Danny out the side, not by a long chalk. Danny missed chances today but as you say at least chances fell to him. He has a striker's instinct and those goals will come despite his flaws. They have to because Mata, Hazard and Oscar will find him all day long. With Torres, there's nothing to find, sadly. Danny has to start against Juve. This has gone on long enough Robbie. It is an utter joke.
