oh dear...ex-Chelsea employee talking sh*te re. Liverpool

Featured Replies

mr nobody Glen Driscoll is his name...on taking job at liverpool laughably claims rodgers is a better manager than jose and carlo and then does the old 'Liverpool are in different league to chelsea' bollox that we have heard many times before...maybe in the past, but now?

He must mean in how he styles his teams, or probably more accurately how he ideally like them to play. jose and ancelotti are better managers but they have (well mainly jose) been accused of playing anti-football at times. Thats the only way i can make sense of this.

I think you're missing the much more realistic explanation that simply all scousers and people associated with Liverpool are delusional and living in their own little bunker, surrounded by pictures of their past glories, refusing to come up to the surface and face reality.

Or something like that.

jose and ancelotti are better managers but they have (well mainly jose) been accused of playing anti-football at times.

We all know that is bitter nonsense though don't we? People mistake a solid defence for being boring.....totally ignoring the amount of times a Mourinho team has torn the opposition apart with attacking football. Look how many goals Real scored last year....yet people still accuse him of anti-football. Morons.

This guy is asking for ridicule saying Rodgers is better than Jose and Carlo. An absolutely farcical thing to say.

Just playing devils advocate, i dont agree with him, its hard to argue that jose plays anti-football at times, then again i think its pretty much the best way to play against barca.

It isnt "Anti-football" at all, its a different way of playing to win a game. Something the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona cant (or wont) do.

For "Anti-football" read not allowing the opposition to play their own game, to walk all over us, for being tactically astute. Playing in a manner that improves your chances of winning the game against teams who play in a certain way, a way which is touted by many who really should know better as the only way the game should be played, and that therefore any other style of play is not actually football.

Or to be a little more concise, the term "Anti-football" is nonsense.

Anti-football is a garbage term and spits in the face of defenders/defensive players everywhere. Wish people would stop using it. If you think its ugly, fine call it ugly but to call it anti football is just wrong. Since when were you supposed to play into oppositions hands just to look pretty.

Hey look, we are arsenal aren't we gorgeous. You know what looks better? Chelseas trophy cabinet.

Yeah actually i agree that 'anti-football' is generally a sh*t term (apart from when applied to stoke cause they just ruin the game), but there does seem to be a general consensus amongst football fans of a desirable way to play

Mourinho's Inter battered Barca in the first leg of their 2010 CL semi-final in the San Siro. And of course Jose's Chelsea scored 4 goals against them at home in 2005. He sits deep against them away but so what? More-or-less every manager adopts those tactics in the Nou Camp. In 2010 they were reduced to 10 men early on as well.

What is the point of playing expansively at Barcelona and gettered slaughtered?

We also battered Barcelona when we drew 1-1 with Ovrebo being sh*t, after holding them at their place. Something that gets completely overlooked when this talk of anti-football appears.

There's no such thing as "anti football". Football is football. There's no "right" way to play it, just different ways, some more enjoyable to watch than others. The 80s Wimbledon side were just as entitled to play their style as Barcelona are to play theirs. It's just a sour grapes excuse, usually made by pious Barca or Arsenal fans right after they've lost to a side who wouldn't meekly roll over for them.

I am playing a match against the best team in my age group in ireland this weekend FYI my team is in the third division in my area would anyone call it anti football if we won because its the only realistic chance we have and if it's not anti football for me why is it whenever chelsea play. When someone outclasses you as badly as barcelona you have two choices be defensive or lose but apparently we weren't told we had to be attacking and lose.Since Uefa didn't get what they wanted it's been labelled anti-football and you just know if Spuds beet us defensively that it's an AVB masterclass instead hypocritical barstewards

He added: 'I’d sat in the opposition dugout here and been involved in some pretty amazing Champions League games at Anfield.

'To finally be sitting in the Liverpool dugout makes me very proud. It was obvious when I came here there is an aura at Liverpool and there is class here.

'The passion around the city and football club is something different. With no disrespect to Chelsea as I had a great time there, enjoyed some amazing moments and still have colleagues and friends there, it just feels the set-up here could really take Liverpool above and beyond.

Aside from the usual obligatory mention of "class", I dont really see much there besides someone paying platitudes to his current employers. What else is someone at Liverpool going to be talking about these days?

As for the ridiculousness of comparing Carlo and Jose to "Buck Rodgers" well, that is another matter.

What a tosser, why do 'new' people at the dippers feel the need to arselick, there's f**k all 'class' about Liverpool at the moment (or recently in fact) to crow about.

Detestable w**kers, they all deserve each other, whilst basking in the classy glory at the bottom of the table !!
