What the hell was going on today? We were looking past WBA by resting Rambo, Mata, and Oscar? Same thing for Ashley and Ivan on the bench. Maybe if they were both out there we wouldve kept a clean sheet (optimistic I know but I am just pissed off right now, looking for answers) but instead we are left with recriminations and another lapse from David Luiz.

This also seemed like a perfect game to throw Marin out there. Torres/Sturridge seemed like a mess for most of the first half until RDM changed things. But instead we were feeling our way in the dark for half the game. So far this year, Marin seems there just to round out the squad.

Same goes with Romeu. Why throw two holding mids out there, one of whom has barely played all year? WBA away was NEVER a walkover. Considering the offensive pivot is Rambo/Oscar maybe the pair of them could have split the game as Mikel's partner.

Sounds like whining, I know but I am just searching for some god damn answers right now.

Looked ok to me, Ivan rested and I hope thats for the Juve game, Luiz has been trusted so no surprise and Ceasar is doing well at RB, Moses deserved a start and Mata deserved a rest as did Oscar...people complain when the squad doesn't get used and then complain when it does.

Danny was overdue a start and had he had more minutes under his belt likely would have scored a couple with his movement looking pretty good.

Romeu and Mikel was my main concern but Romeu needs game time as Mikel will be off to the ACN and again I suppose resting Ramires for Juve was a reasonable idea.

The team we put out was capable of winning even at a West Brom in good form, a defensive mistake early put us on the back foot and then two less than perfect strikers are not really a confidence booster for turning things round.

Thats my take on it anyway.

I was actually very pleased with the line up. It's what a lot of us have been screaming for, and I think it was brave of Robbie (again) to start with the team he did.

We have used the least number of players in the premiership of all teams this season, so it was good to see the change.

I think the ref missed a couple of big calls, and then their keeper played a blinder for them. Again, we failed to take our chances, and that's the main area of concern...who thought Sturridge and Torres as our only two strikers for the whole season was a good idea?

Never rotate away at the top 10 teams in the league. Play the best eleven then rest players if and when the points are looking safe. 5 changes was overkill, don't think we've won a league game when we've rested that many players this season. Very frustrating day/month in the office.

The problem is this is the first time we really rotated players in the League.

Tonight was Moses's third start I believe

Sturridge's second game playing from the start

Romeu's 3rd game.

In the end I think they weren't awful, but they were obviously lacking match practice.

On the other hand you have Luiz and Cahill playing every week and somehow always find a way to gift our opposition a goal.

Romeu and Mikel is a disastrous midfield 2.

Yes I've been screaming out for a player to sit in front of the back four and give us a degree of solidity that we have lacked all season, but not alongside Mikel, that is just the wrong combination.

Never again Robbie. Never again.

Well the Shed has spoken and its clearly been in favor of reason.

Rotation was necessary, of course, but I don't think we should have rested Mata, Oscar and Rambo. One of Oscar or Mata should have been on the pitch from the start.

That was my point exactly. I didnt expect the turnover to be that high for one game.

Moses? Yes, surely. He has been excellent in recent weeks.

Ivan and Cole were two players due for a rest.

But it just seemed that with Oscar, Rambo and Mata all sitting, we had none of the trademark explosiveness the midfield has given this year.

Agree with that. The Romeu of last year was dynamic and inventive. This year he looks so short of confidence.

That said (and this goes for the cries for Marin too, I being one of those people who are asking for him) RDM sees the squad in training every day and I dont. Hopefully Marin can get some sub minutes, somewhere, because I think with a little form he may be a great asset in relieving the fatigue on the Haz/Mat/Oscar trio.

I think Robbie choose a team that should have won the game, at least they had enough talent to win the game....That said, not enough of the players turned up.

When players need resting i would always rather we put out our strongest team , then rest players once we have a result in the bag.

I'd really like to know what the score is with Marin. It's at the stage now where there has to be something going on we don't know about.

No, tell you what we're missing at the mo,,,,,, leaders, pure and simple, no JT, no Frankie and no-one stepping into their boots so to speak.

That's a good point, Jezza. We need someone out there who can crack some skulls in our locker room, but without JT and to some extent Lamps, we have no such person.

Agree with that. The Romeu of last year was dynamic and inventive. This year he looks so short of confidence.

Would that be short of confidence born out of lack of playing time?

Yep, absolutely zero mobility.

None. Both labored and slow.

Looking forward to getting KDB in there next season if I am honest. Been looking great over in Germany.

But I am really concerned about our DM choices of Mikel and Romeu.

We only really need 2 players, a world class DM and world class striker and we are sorted for many a year.
