May 1, 201311 yr I was actually talking to the wife about this last night. End of the day, he isn't forcing through a move, we are the ones allowing his contract to expire. If he has the option of staying in England where his family is and having the chance to continue to earn decent money and compete for titles could we really begrudge him moving to United were it to happen. It would make my gut wrench seeing him in red but at the end of the day there isn't much we can do about it.
May 1, 201311 yr If it happened then the board are the ones to blame not Lamps. Im sure if he scored against us he is classy enough not to celebrate.
May 1, 201311 yr If it happened then the board are the ones to blame not Lamps. Im sure if he scored against us he is classy enough not to celebrate. If he were to score against us I think I would be close to applauding him (as long as he didn't celebrate) because I would want to show that despite moving to a rival I still respect him for everything he contribute to the club.
May 1, 201311 yr is it necessary to start a new thread on lamps' future? and WHY is this thread not in the RUMOURS section??
May 2, 201311 yr Author I thought it might probably be merged. I've made a few threads here that have disappeared and i can't find them again so i always assumed they were merged with another.
May 2, 201311 yr NEVER.....Lamps isnt needed there...They have good enough players .....He wouldnt go there anyway.....Im sure that while the big folk are holding Lamps in limbo ATM, while they suss out who they can sign ( or not), he would end up abroad if not here
May 2, 201311 yr Probably naive in today's game but i'd like to believe Frank is a different breed and wouldn't even consider them as an option out of respect for us fans. (same with Didier and JT)
May 2, 201311 yr Author Why are they even being linked with Falcao, Ronaldo and Lewandowski? They're going to be up the wall with diva forwards wanting a starting place. How do they plan to accommodate these players, Rooney, Van Persie, Hernandez and Welbeck? My intense dislike for that club intensifies. I hope we can secure Falcao.
May 2, 201311 yr Probably has something to do with journalists and newspapers making crap up as they go. As much as I've always disliked Man utd, I've got a big begrudging respect for how their club is run, particularly the management of Alex.
May 2, 201311 yr Fergie has not denied how much he rates frank and as we all know the red nosed scottish one is inteligent to know that being above 30 doesnt make u a sh*t footballer, i wouldnt blame frank for wanting to stay at the top level.
May 2, 201311 yr This story came up a while ago and i will say what i said back then. If Lampard ever went to United, and i don't think he will, then it would be unforgivable. I would be pissed at the board for letting it happen and just as pissed at Lampard as well. But like i said, i don't think Lampard will join them, i don't think he would sh*t on us fans like that. I will be forever greatful for all he has given us but i couldn't accept such betrayal.

The man has made his intentions clear that he wants to stay at Chelsea, if the board let him go, then he is free to go whereever he wants - This doesn't mean he should not be remembered for what he has done for Chelsea. Don't forget other passion - playing for England - and if that means he has to play for our rivals then you shouldn't hold that against him. Edited May 2, 201311 yr by Sharpy
May 2, 201311 yr Totally agree with Sharpy. If the board, a.k.a. Abramovich, let him go, then they/he and they alone will be to blame. Nothing Frank does can reduce the respect that fans should have for him.
May 2, 201311 yr Tbh United really dont need SFL this is pretty much a non story. Edited May 2, 201311 yr by Mamizcar

I never said i would forget about his time here, i said it would be unforgivable and a betrayal to us fans if he left for United, which it would. Why would he need to join one of our most hated rivals, why take it out on the fans ? I wouldn't mind him playing for anyone abroad but i couldn't accept him joining a rival team, it makes me sick and angry thinking about it. I believe Lampard is loyal to us fans though and he wouldn't do such a thing. If Lampard left us for any rival then it would prove that loyalty in football is dead.
May 2, 201311 yr i dont think its a betrayal to the fans Scott. surely he shouldnt have to leave the country just because the club he wants to stay at refuse to give him a new deal, and he fears offending the fans? he's got a family here that he shouldnt have to leave/uproot just because he wants to keep the Chelsea fans sweet. i will applaud him and chant his name wherever he goes, QPR, West Ham, United, Sp*rs... he has given amazing service to our club, and we know if he was offered a new deal he would sign it in a heartbeat. i would be embarassed if anyone booed him if he played for another side at the Bridge Edited May 2, 201311 yr by Coxy15

Don't get me wrong, it would hurt me too to see our Frank playing for one of our rivals. But its not a 'betrayal' because he WANTED to stay with us. Like someone else said, you can't expect him to uproot his family just to go abroad because he doesn't want to 'betray' his fans. The only betrayal here is our board to our Frank!
