I think a defensive midfielder will be high on most fans shopping lists this summer. We have debated Mikel left right and center and i have defended him against un-warranted abuse but have always maintained that i never rated him that highly as a player.

From what i have seen of Fernandinhio and especially against us in Europe last season for Shaktar i think he's a quality player.  

If reports are true JM feels the same, does anyone feel the same or what are the better if any options?

cant do the link, not the best source but in the Daily Mail today. Maybe BS but i'd like him. As Jack said though it would cost and not sure if our budget shouldn't be better spent upfront.

Would rather Paulinho who is better and clearly wants to leave.

I'm with others on this that I haven't seen him play, I have on the likes of FM and Fifa but nothing in life!

Yeah, city were interested earlier in the season and Shakhtar wanted about  â‚¬40-45 I think.

 

Definitely not worth it for a 28yo who is frankly unproven in any of Europe's big leagues.

True, in my opinion De Rossi would be the perfect solution, and I heard a rumour of De Rossi for 10m + Wallace on loan to Roma, seems like a dream deal in my opinion and a great oppurtunity for Wallace to gain some valuable experience in a top club.

Surely if he's that good then he wouldn't be linked with €10 million moves to mediocre teams? You seem to love him, but from the games i've seen him in, albeit a huge amount, i think there's better alternatives. I'd rather we buy an older DM so we can bring Chalobah and Ake into the team over time.
