David Luiz to PSG?

Featured Replies

I read last night that PSG has made us an offer of 40 million euros for Luiz but we have turned it down and said we wouldnt even listen to offers below 50 million euros.

I personally would love Luiz to stay and become even better under Jose's guidance. How ever IF PSG came back with 50 million it would be quite tough to turn down wouldnt it.

Call me crazy, but I'd turn it down in a heartbeat. Luiz is going to reach great heights under Jose. I can feel it.

Possible we might think about it @ 75 million euro's, seriously @ 100 million, get back to us any time soon.

Seriously though guys (and gals) 50 million is a lot to turn down for a defender even in todays market.

It's just like the PSG owner said, offer me 1000mil for Thiago and I would say no.

When you sell you look to improve on what you had, I don't see who we could bring in that has the charisma, potential and genuine likability that Luiz gives us.

Then he's a fool, IMO. Marquinhos cost 5 million Euros when Roma took a chance on him, and now they are going to make 7 times that. The talent is out there for people with the money and willingness to take a chance on it.

how many trophies have roma won recently? they cant even get into the champions league

If PSG were to offer £40m+ for Luiz then I think Chelsea might consider it. That's a lot of money for any player, let alone defenders.

Is money needed to chelsea? we need good players to win, we dont need money - we already have (and plenty) money.

Not going to dispute that and we certainly aren't a selling club but I just think that every player has their price and if a stupid bid came in for any of our players I think it would be considered bit necessarily sanctioned.

if we got an obscene offer and let luiz go, bringing in someone like hummels or silva would require an obscene offer aswell. we'd gain nothing and we would disrupt the team

40 million is a lot of money

But it wont pay for the passion and leadership we would lose if we sold him

IMO Luiz will be our next captain and i hope he stays with us for the rest of his career

If a ridiculous bid came for Luiz and we let him go, who would be good and not too expensive CB we could sign instead of him?

I cant see Luiz lining up for another team for a long time (in a perfect world he would play out his career with us if he keeps up the good play). He has really developed at the Bridge and become the backbone of our side so it would be like if Barca had sold Puyol or Liverpool sold Carragher.

I think that Luiz was so criminally under rated by the media and opposition fans, as well as Chelsea fans, he is now over rated by many Chelsea fans.

The thing with our love for Luiz is that it goes beyond his talent, he is talented but he loves Chelsea, he's an absolute character and he plays for the badge every time he plays and in an age where so many footballers are just soulless mercenaries that will go to wherever offers the most money, a player like Luiz is hard to come by.

That isnt the point though, is it? By that logic every club that was good at buying low and selling high would be worthless and that clearly isnt true.

Chelsea is not Roma. Selling one star player wouldnt somehow send the whole club down the pan.
