August 20, 201510 yr We would still have Kennedy and Traore. It's too much IMO. I think Juan and Moses will go. i honestly hand on heart cannot see either kenedy or traore kicking a ball for us in the PL or CL this season that doesnt mean to say i disagree with you... i didnt really finish my post so here is the edit selling willian wouldnt make sense. we are devoid of depth and keeping willian for me is key, assuming we arent going to be buying any stellar replacements. i think we will see juan and moses go too... and rely on a core AM rotation including oscar, hazard, pedro and willian. traore and kenedy will see limited, if any, game time IMO Edited August 20, 201510 yr by CFC_RFC_TID!

August 20, 201510 yr We don't have to sell anyone, the whole problem with our squad right now is that we have a lack of competition for places. We're allowed to have more than 11 players in the squad.

August 20, 201510 yr Hazard, Willian, Moses, Cuadrado and Pedro for 5 spots? Willian might also be played in the centre in place of Oscar, so its really only 4 outright wingers for 2 slots, not including youth players. Plus the fact that i'm sure everyone would love to see Cuadrado sold, if only someone could be so kind as to take him off our hands. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by Jonty

We do have players who can move into different positions but that's not always idea. I think Cuadadro will go for sure and possible Moses.
August 20, 201510 yr I'll be very surprised if Kennedy and Traore are involved in any capacity in our league campaign.
August 20, 201510 yr I'll be very surprised if Kennedy and Traore are involved in any capacity in our league campaign. They're surely gonna play at some point otherwise what's the point in them been here?

August 20, 201510 yr I'll also be surprised if they are both here at the end of the window. Them moving on loan is definitely an option but I really think they'd have already gone out by now, unless the Pedro deal pushes the loan(s) through
August 20, 201510 yr There is only room in the squad for cuadrado or Moses, and 1 of either kenedy or traore. I think we will most likely keep Moses and traore and the other will go on loan.
August 20, 201510 yr Willian would make a good bench option late in games. At least then you could excuse his awful output. And with how often Ivan is exposed on his side of the pitch I'm not so sure his defensive attributes are all their cracked up to be....
August 20, 201510 yr I think people need to remember that we need a squad, even if a player is dropped in favour for Pedro it's not gonna be every single match. Last season the reason we couldn't challenge fully on four fronts was because of our squad depth.

And with how often Ivan is exposed on his side of the pitch I'm not so sure his defensive attributes are all their cracked up to be.... You make a sound point. With that being said, I would suggest that Branovic has only started to decline alarmingly in the recent past. I can't think of many glaring mistakes prior to the end of last season. A season ago and earlier, he was probably the best RB in the league, along with Zabaleta. In my eyes anyway...

I still think Ivan can be a top CB for many years to come
August 20, 201510 yr Would love for us to move Haz central to the #10 role and have Willian and Pedro flanking him on the LW and RW. Oscar to be moved deeper next to Matic. Him and Fabregas to rotate based on form and opposition. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by Sing the Blues
August 20, 201510 yr I still think Ivan can be a top CB for many years to come True, I just don't think he can do the job at RB anymore. He was already as slow as a paddle steamer, now he's lost his legs that's even worse.
August 20, 201510 yr True, I just don't think he can do the job at RB anymore. He was already as slow as a paddle steamer, now he's lost his legs that's even worse. Agreed his days are numbered there, we haven't offered him a new contract yet so I'm wondering if we're going to at all.

Him and Fabregas to rotate based on form and opposition. I like the sound of all that except for Hazard on the inside. I think he needs the space provided on the flank to do his thing. Add into the mix that he draws defenders out wide and opens space up in the middle, I think central for Hazard will just limit his impact on games. Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. He cuts in anyways. It would also decrease him having to track back and having to gallop over huge distances which limits his offensive output. Not to mention that he would play and get the ball higher up the pitch which should theoretically increase his end product tally. I agree with this, he starts wide giving him the chance to drift inside etc. Our front 3 behind the striker don't really stick to a position anyway, constantly on the move and allowed to switch positions. If anything I would prefer Oscar or Willian in the middle. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by dkw

Add into the mix that he draws defenders out wide and opens space up in the middle, I think central for Hazard will just limit his impact on games. Just my opinion. I personally think Hazard is one of those special players who merits a "free-role" in the side, so he can drift about and look to exploit teams weaknesses wherever he sees them. I know you still need discipline and a structure but some of Hazards best moments have come where he has gone at sides through the middle, either scoring great goals or winning penalties. Don't like the idea of him being stuck out wide where our best player can get isolated. As for Willian, hopefully the signing of Pedro will give him the competition he needs to up his game as I still don't see Willian as definite starter every game. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by Nibs

If anything I would prefer Oscar or Willian in the middle.Don't see much interchange with the rigid way we are set up . Maybe Oscar and Haz at times but those times are quite few. Interchange between the front 3 was a hallmark of the Mata days under RDM. With Willian having to cover Ivan and Oscar baby sitting Fabregas it really isn't a feature of Jose's set up. Agree with Nibs.Hazard could be given a free role with license to drift wide if the central areas get overcrowded. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by Sing the Blues
August 20, 201510 yr Don't like the idea of him being stuck out wide where our best player can get isolated. Fair enough but to be honest I don't think he gets isolated all that often he is simply too good for that to happen consistently. When you have his pace and ball control you can take on 3/4 defenders at a time no problem, as we have seen on a regular basis. Another issue with Hazard as #10 would be that he spends wayyyyy too much time on the ball to play in the centre.
August 20, 201510 yr Interchange between the front 3 was a hallmark of the Mata days under RDM. Duff and Robben did it under Jose
