Well, what you said is true. Ironically, he is our tallest outfield player.

It's interesting I think Cahill's threat in the box has been nullified by marking too as he was very strong from free kicks and corners for a while.

He's on the best scoring streak of his career, I have the feeling he will bag another one this Saturday. I hope this is time he steps up and show his true value.

He should since he won't be spending most time protecting iva

A touch underated this season, probably because we've lost a lot of the games he's scored in. His free kicks have been very Zola-ish. Does that mean they are strange?

I actually think he's been overrated, take away the goals and he's still contributing very little in attack from open play and making poor decisions in the final third.

The delivery from dead ball situations has been very good and he's been very fortunate that a couple of the deliveries were missed by everyone and went it.

He as much as anyone else needs to improve what he's been contributing in open play.

I think he's only meant one that he's scored.

Maccabi - Fluke

Newcastle - Fluke

Porto - Meant it

Southampton - Cross?

Maybe if he keeps crossing his free kicks rather than shooting he will score everytime.

Nearly every single damn goal we've scored this season has been written off as a fluke or luck.

We've scored a lot of jammy goals that's why.

Not seen many well crafted goals from open play which is a large part of my personal frustration with the team.

Tbf we have scored a few "lucky" goals this season. Both at Swansea had an element of luck, Hazard's V Arsenal, the above 4.

I don't think they were flukes necessarily. He maybe wasnt aiming to score directly, but he was picking a spot that causes uncertainty and makes the goalkeeper hesitate which is how they went in. He placed the ball in the perfect position for either a tap-in or a goalkeeping error resulting in goals.

If he wasn't aiming to score, and the ball ends up in the net - that's flukey to me!

I don't mind it either way - he seems to be the only player who gives a toss at the moment, maybe signing Pedro has made Willian step up a bit.

When Zola scored a goal like that, it was genius. When Willian does it, it's a fluke. I wonder what the reaction would be if it had been Mr. Magic Hat who scored those goals...

How can he be overrated when hardly anyone gives him credit for anything that he does? "His work rate is useless without an end product." "His goals were lucky." And so on...

He's got lots of MotM votes on The Shed End, I would dare say he's received more votes than anyone else this season.

Probably between him and Begovic.

Fair enough if he gets votes (I usually don't pay attention to the polls), but you couldn't tell it by the way people write about him on the forums.

Can't really see any wrong with him (and Begovic and Dave) getting more MotM votes than the rest of the team. Most of our players are simply not performing well enough.

Don't get me wrong - i'm not slating him. I just think there has been an element of luck to the goals he has scored - would say the same if they were scored by anyone else.

Zola scored an almost identical goal to Willians against Spud's, and it was as hailed as a great goal, Theres never been a mention of it being a fluke.

Lampard scored one like that against Blackburn (there might have been others), but I can't remember if people said it was a fluke or a brilliant goal.
