Who's the best...

Striker in the world currently... A few of my friends are now on Suarez band wagon. The last few years RVP has been argued. Both the spanish giants started today with false number 9's which tells us everything we need to know about the striker situation in spain.

It's always been a fickle argument, I remember people claiming to be Torres then switching back to drogba.

In you're opinions whose the best front man around today?*

Ronaldo and Mesi excluded as they are just ridicules wide men

Hard to say.

RVP would certainly be close given his efforts over the past two seassons.

Aguero would be close, Falcao is another.

I personally think Ibra. Even at his age he just has that ability to just win the game by himself with his finishing and crucially his creativity.

Falcao and Cavani are still scoring for fun, albeit in France.  Lewandowski has to be considered.  I don't think RVP has declined so much as he's disillusioned with Moyes and his style, he looked as good as ever with the Holland team, and of course Suarez is up there.  Throw in Ibrahimovic and I'd say they're the top 6 strikers in the world at the moment.  The best is a matter of personal taste I suppose.

So any of Falcao, Cavani, Lewandowski, RVP, Suarez or Ibrahimovic.

Cases can be made for players like Aguero, but he had one great season, then dropped off and now seems to be hitting his best form again.  If he can sustain it this season then he's certainly up there, I still wish he was playing for us.  Hopefully our own Lukaku can be considered up there soon.

Messi is hardly a 'wide-man'...

Can't really argue with this, it's one out of this lot IMO. Might just give the edge to Falcao on his day but they're all more or less neck-and-neck.

On a side note... who would you say the best full-back is? This is an position that's drastically declined in recent years, nowhere near as many top fullbacks as there used to be. Think Bayern have the best shouts in Lahm and Alaba.

Lahm and Alaba definitely. I would throw Baines in as well. Massive fan of Baines, would love to see him here. Think there was a stat a while ago that showed he had created more goal scoring chances than anyone in Europe. He's not too bad defensively either. Plus he has one of the best free kicks in Europe.

Big fan of Baines myself but he still hasn't done it at the highest level because Everton don't play champions league would be interesting to see how he would get on. I'd like him here.

Hard for me to comment as I only watch English football really - I'd rather than a League One match than La Liga etc... unless its in the Champions League perhaps. If I could take any striker at the moment from the Premier League it would be Aguero or Rooney... Although Van Persie is clearly a class act too.

That nasty, vile, spiteful, petulant little ratman who acts/tumbles/bites for Liverpool is quite a decent player too... Erugh.

I can narrow it down to Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski, Aguero, Falcao and Suarez as the top 5 in the sense that they are all very well rounded and score for fun.

From there if I had to chose one it would be Lewandowski. Just because only one name on that list has dragged their team to a champions league final lately, 2 of them haven't even played in it (Falcao/Suarez) and another hasn't gotten past the group stages (Aguero).

Ibra and Suarez are my favourite to watch.

Everytime I see Suarez on the ball, I just want to put on my boots and play like him.

Ibra I love as nobody can ever be him. His self confidence blended with his humility and dislike for Guardiola is infectious.
