The summer transfer period is a few months away, but some important moves are being worked on. The agent for Bayern Munich striker Mandzukic flew to London to talk to Chelsea and Arsenal, he is still trying to understand the intentions of the two EPL clubs. Real Madrid is also interested in the striker, they have been pursuing him for some time. Since Lewandowski signed with Bayern Manadzukic is considering his options. His agent is trying to drum up some interest from major clubs, Mandzukic’s future will likely be far from Munich.

That would be a great pairing, but we need more than two strikers. With 4 competitions to participate in and the FA/UEFAs inability to schedule matches with adequate breathing space, fixtures are going to be heavy in places. Fatigue is definitely a problem we've faced this season and has led to injuries.

We need three strikers. Not two. Even if we buy Lavezzi, that would be a tidy third forward to add more depth.

True, but we don't need his three ring circus bringing the wrong kind of attention to the club. You know what the gutter snipe toilet level tabloids are like in this country. They'd be following him around like a hawk. Even if he misses the toilet when urinating, the press would be making that a headline.

Not only a proven goalscorer, but also creates chances for team mates aswell. You cannot possibly deny that he is a talented player. Has massive amounts of energy and is a good sprinter too.

I would be very underwhelmed if he was our first choice striker next season.

 

He can't even hold a regular spot at Bayern, and it's not like they have great strikers themselves. Like i keep saying, they are bringing in Lewandowski for a reason.

Why does it matter how much he costs ? he wouldn't be the answer to our problems anyway.

I never said having him as our main striker. He would be a good secondary to Costa. At 20 mil, I think the price is right. Let's face it, we need multiple options next season. Can't just throw our eggs into one basket and rely on one forward. Look at how Eto'os injury has rocked us this season.

Good point. But to be honest, he'd be more likely to get more time on the pitch at Stamford Bridge than at Bayern. The bits that I have read indicates that he is concerned about a massive lack of football next season. The fact that his agent is putting out the feelers indicates that he wants out.

Exactly. His accelaration is easily on par with Salah and Willian. We need that kind of speed in a forward. We need someone who can create chances too. I've seen him create some very nice goals for Bayern.

I'm not one for writing players off and deeming them "not Chelsea quality' before they have kicked a ball in anger for us. I'm not surprised he has been dismissed by some already to be honest.
