mickydroysleftpeg Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 It has been at times a difficult season, lacking a clear striking threat, and at times lacklustre away performances yet as chelsea have over the last decade and as we know JM can Chelsea we have dug deep and won the critical games. It could still be a season of rebuilding for the future but we find ourselves in a position where if we do the job for just 7 games remaining we could be premier / champions league double winners. Greatness. How many teams have achieved that ever, Liverpool 70s and they who must not be named? Certainly no goners ever. We don't even necessarily need to win all 7. I think we need the 4 premier league games, but if we do win them, and it's not the biggest if in the world, then we are champions, Fact (sorry!). An away drawn, even 2 draws could see us through a semi against AM. Then a massive one off game against euro giants with the odds against us and JM at the helm. Not unthinkable we come away victorious. It's been a funny season but here we are, hoping, praying, in with a shout, just seven steps from greatness. Come on you blues......
Bobbywoodhogan Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 If we do it we'll shut up a hell of alot of people
Zeta Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 no it won't. even when we won the CL they still bitched and moaned.
evissy Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Yes. The style will be bitched about. Good victory but it was laboured or something along the lines...well I couldn't care less what others say tbh.
jack_super_class Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Yes. The style will be bitched about. Good victory but it was laboured or something along the lines...well I couldn't care less what others say tbh. Exactly its like we play counter attack football = Chelsea parking the bus Liverpool play it - one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Prem.
kennypaul Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Yes. The style will be bitched about. Good victory but it was laboured or something along the lines...well I couldn't care less what others say tbh. I wish I could say with belief that I couldn't care less but in all honesty it does wind me up that we're not respected by for example gooner fans and Liverpool fans, even though we know it's just bitterness from them.
Bobbywoodhogan Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I don't know about anyone else but I kind of like our club been hated, makes victories all the more sweeter
JoeyN Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Liverpool away is probably the biggest game in my recent memory.
bluegraham Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I don't know about anyone else but I kind of like our club been hated, makes victories all the more sweeter[/quote Of course bobby. When we stop been hated that's when I'll worry means we ain't winning anymore
evissy Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 The difference between Jose's style and Manager X's style is if Jose's team is in great form it can beat anyone and with any kind of result(6-0 Arsenal) but when the things don't go as well as it should Jose tweaks the system (aka has a plan B) and he plays according to the opponent, tries to nullify them and nick a goal for the win (0-1 at Swansea). This gets a lot of hate and negativity. Trying to win is essentially hated. Jose's style is much more of a team effort rather than the style of an artist like Wenger. Wenger tries to paint his painting, Jose tries to make his team win with a collective performance. Not trying to get any hate from you Brits but isn't our way very close to what team Germany is doing a year after year. Does the hate come from there, maybe...
bluelion111 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Liverpool away is probably the biggest game in my recent memory. Biggest since Munich.
LFC7NH Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Exactly its like we play counter attack football = Chelsea parking the bus Liverpool play it - one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Prem. It's exciting because we score goals though...
jack_super_class Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 It's exciting because we score goals though... Because you have good strikers but the style of play is similar. The only difference is we can defend better but your full backs get higher up the pitch. Media make it sound like there is a huge contrast in styles.
axman2526 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Make that 3, positive result over 2 legs against Atletico gives us a chance at a great night in Lisbon. Our domestic glory now lies in ashes. How times have change where I am hoping for a more fair performance for match officials in Europe rather than England.
Mr Pink Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Liverpool away is probably the biggest game in my recent memory. Huge for three teams, can't wait for it, but dreading it at the same time. Missed being involved in games like this for too long now.
Mod Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Jose will field the second team and pack the defence just to stop a rugby score.
sonic90 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Jose will field the second team and pack the defence just to stop a rugby score. I wonder what he will actually do, we're not completely out of the title race if Liverpool and City slip up, but then again focusing on the CL will increase our chances of reaching the final. Split bet or all in with the CL?
Mamizcar Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Because you have good strikers but the style of play is similar. The only difference is we can defend better but your full backs get higher up the pitch. Media make it sound like there is a huge contrast in styles. They're also more creative to be honest. According to opta, they have created almost double the number of clear cut chances than we have this season. Edited April 20, 2014 by Mamizcar
