Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2014-15

Featured Replies

I particularly didn't like the teenagers singing "where were you when we we're sh*t" brigade at the bridge on my last visit.

I felt like shouting "getting stick off my school mates for Mickey Droy and his defence in the '70's well before you were born".

Thought we were all on the same side

Neither nearest nor dearest rivals by any stretch of the imagination but  I'm watching the Fa Cup 1st round tie between Warrington Town and Exeter live on BBC2 this evening. The magic of the Fa Cup and all that.

You're welcome mate. Fair play to the BBc for covering it. I love games like this, proper old school. A crowd of 2500 in a ground where the average attendance is 200. An entertaining game so far as well, what's not to like ?!

Yep love the fa cup always will. Dreamt of Chelsea winning the fa cup when I was a kid not the European cup are the premiership the fa cup meant everything

Yep ^ too right. Cos I am the age I am I'd be pleased as Punch if Spurs won the Cup. Players want to win medals - Wenger: there's no Cup for fourth place and being bummed by some Belgium team in the Cl.

I am watching Sky's coverage of the last CL day (wednesday) and I just had to come here and say

I want to strangle Jamie Redknapp. The man is a waste of space as a pundit. He is not just boring, he is actively annoying. How the hell did Super Frank come from this family?

Get back in the que

What's everyone's favourite fa cup moment besides actually winning it?

I have a few 2-0. Luton at wembely

The whole fa cup run in 97 was amazing especially the 4-2 against the dippers and loved mark Hughes 3rd goad against Wimbledon at Highbury and he's volley away at pompey. Poyets double against Newcastle was fun also.

Good work. I was getting scared to look at this thread...

Me too.

I really enjoyed that game tonight. Proper Cup football and really entertaining right up to the final whistle. Fair do's to Warrington Town.

Wow best FA Cup moments not including finals:

Beating Liverpool 4-2 in 97, probably my favourite victory over Liverpool

Terry's late winner against West Ham back in 2002

Smashing Spurs 4-0 back in 2002 after they hammered is in the cup prior to that

Coming back against Spurs at the Bridge and then beating them in the replay at the Lane with a beautiful goal from Sheva in 2007

Beating Arsenal 2-1 at Wembley in 2009 (any victory over Arsenal I love)

Beating Spurs 5-1 back in 2012 at Wembley

Slightly off topic but I was watching Europa League highlights earlier and I noticed Jose Bosingwa still has a unibrow Lol

Haha archeologist will find his bones in hundreds of years time and it will still be there :p

I don't really hate Spurs tbh, at least not like I do Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona. It's just a coincidence that some of our greatest memories in the Cup have been against Spurs.

How could I forget winning on penos up in Newcastle in 96 cracking game

A bit odd for me but it was 1984/5 I think when Everton lost to Man Utd. I remember sitting in my Grandad's back garden with him and Radio 2 on (it was waaay before 5 live and the final was prob tbe only full match broadcast), just willing Everton on. They lost but that afternoon is as clear as day to me.

For me it doesn't get much better than this.......apart from winning it of course.
