Hopefully adds a few more million to his price tag when we inevitably sell him at the end of the season.

23 years old already and done nothing of note outside of the AFCON. Can't see him being a Chelsea player for much longer.

Atsu deserves to play in Everton. I don't understand why Martinez doesn't play him, Everton doesn't play good and some upgrades in the attack won't hurt the team, Atsu can affect.

Martinez doesn't play him because the likes of Naismith, Merriles and McCready are much better than him.

They've just signed Aaron Lennon as well, which doesn't bode particularly well for his chances.

Apart from the fact he's been playing in the African Nations Cup he must be truely awful in training as he can't get past McGeady who I believe doesn't do anything for us other than track back. Personally, I'd have liked to have seen him get an extended run in the team to see what he can actually do but now we have Lennon on loan (with a view to a permanent deal) I believe his chances are zilch. I wonder why Martinez even bothered with him. I thought there was an agreement between the two clubs he had to play a certain amount of games? Is this not the case?

He was bought so we could try and sell him for a couple of million more. Literally no other reason.

He's probably worth a fair amount in shirt sales in Ghana, which might be somewhat important in light of the departure of Essien.

I can't see that happenening either as he doesn't look like he adds anything to the quality you already have.  I'm not sure if he'll be with us next season on a permanent deal as he's not had the chance to show us whether he can be a quality player for us.

 

Re: McGeady. Yep, I think he's awful, he hardly ever beats his opponent and his crossing isn't exactly amazing. He also gives the ball away far too often for my likening. He had a good career at clubs that, with no disrepect to them, are championship quality in terms of players and the league they play in.

Watching him for Everton and I knew he was awful from the start but I swear he's actually gotten worse.

Good move for him. Howe seems a shrewd manager so probably has a plan for him and plays nice, attacking football. Don't think he has a future here, but we could make a profit on him.
