Thibaut Courtois

Things we have done for Courtois

Let him compete against us in a champions league semi final, and he produced a few worldie saves to keep us out.

We dropped an all time legend Cech to keep Courtois happy

Anything else we also did for him?

Sacked a coach and brought in his own preferred coach.

Rumoured to have chosen him over de bruyne over personal problems.

deary me....so much nancy schoolboy angst in this thread despite the fact that he's been angling to leave for about 2 years now & for credible reasons.

I wish him well - certainly not our best keeper ever but within our top 3 to 4 keepers of all time. Thanks for your performances Courtois & I wish the best for you for the rest of your career.

I think after his actions we are well within our rights to be salty with him. As for his credible reasons, more fool you for falling for that obvious bullsh*t.

^ gee I'm sorry for your facial tic & the fact that you have to rely on gifs - tell me, do you have a thing for that actor?

dude calm down, don't take it personally

we have different opinions. i didn't say anything bad about him but ain't wishing him luck

hey mate - so be salty - matter for you. As for his reasons - well his wife is spanish isn't she & lives in Madrid....writing has been on the wall for a couple of years hasn't it? So why the angst exactly?

You're right but you're only right - so he isn't married but his kids are in Madrid....enough reasons right there.

If he so desperately wanted to be near his family for so long why no transfer requests, why not make a financial sacrifice ?

The way he has acted has left a bad taste, constant gobsh*tery when on international duty, not turning up to training, resorting to emotional blackmail. There's ways to do things, his way was to totally disrespect a club that has given him incredible opportunities and bent over backwards for him. f**k him.

Righto...well, if you want to waste your emotions on him that's a matter for you - he's always been cagey since day dot but he was a professional on the paddock. Here's the thing - not every footballer who plays for us is always going to be 'model' of the paddock. Indeed that gets rarer & rarer these days so why the angst exactly?

Finally gone, been pushing for the move for 2-3 seasons now, just can't see him being focused even if we keep him and allow him to walk free next season. In the end, the deal wasn't too bad for us, and at least he's not going for a rival club.

hehe...been called a lot of things in my time but 'nice'...that's new & gave me a chuckle so thx mate: as for the perception these days that the 'loyalty' of professionals must, in some imagined way, equate with the 'loyalty' of supporters....crikey....

The annoyance at Courtois in here is the same that Athletic fans have for Kepa, with the difference that he has given them 80m € and we get 35m GBP... and the opportunity to develop Kovacic for Real Madrid.

My Biggest concern now is that in consecutive seasons we've had players not return for the new season and have been successful in getting there preferred move, this sets a very dangerous precedent. Like it or not but this is a failure on the part of Chelsea in allowing such a situation to arise, the situations should've been anticipated and possibly resolved before the players took matters into there own hands.

I disagree, we got great deals for both players. All it shows is that we'll sell if someone meets our valuation.

Did kepa go on strike too?

Ex-wife and kids. The same ex-wife and kids he's been without for 4 years and he would have been without for longer when he told the press he was thinking about signing a new contract with us and would have been happy to stay here for longer. But no, now it's all about the kids.

^ hehe...heya punch...22 or is it now 23, and w/o kids...hehe. I imagine he's also sick of England with brexiteer idiots like you and of course much nicer climate in Spain - but hey, always good to see you that you have an opinion.....

With hindsight and now that I've calmed down after my little knee jerk tirade (possibly involving the eloquent use of the word c**t)... by going AWOL perhaps he just didn't want to get injured and compromise his move to Real Madrid, kinda makes sense in a "but he's still a c**t" kinda way.

I said before that I wouldn't begrudge him a move to RM because of his kid (kids?) so see no reason to label him a "judas" etc and wish him all the best for the future.

Totally uncalled for.
