Someone who said this isn't common I just read that Mateo Kovacic and Jordan Ayew refused to train with the team. This is today. Might be bs the both cases but I think it happens quite a bit. 

Courtois's financial advisers must be screaming at him to get back to London sharpish.

He could lose millions in wages, but worse he'll be backed into a corner when his contract ends and RM don't offer him the same dollar we have offered him for a new contract. They won't budge because they know he can't go back, he'll have to accept whatever they offer.

If he'd of come back, worked his last season and picked up something like £10m in wages, then when RM come in for him out of contract on a free, he will insist on his wage demands being met, or he will accept a new contract with us for more money.

Or he just blows multi £ millions and does what the hell he likes.

I think we should have given Courtois an ultimatum, and had he not signed then replaced him at the start of the summer.

I work in similar field as our board members and if they were this naive, then that shows even a higher level of inconpetence. They are not fit for their position. My head would have been on the chopping block if I had made a critical mistake as this. They are doing the same mistake currently with Hazard. 

It is basic at its core, there for a numpty to see that Courtois was just stringing us along and they should have acted on that. He has been running his mouth nonstop, obviously that was to warn our board that this is coming. Negligence, incompetence and lack of giving a sh*t is what has led us here. 

When the sh*tferry arrives, we all get sh*t on. It has arrived.

It wouldn't bother me at all if he departs. The way he's conducted himself towards the club has been nothing short of disgraceful.

A part of me hopes that that happens. Awful thing to hope for, I know, but his lack of professionalism throughout this entire process has finally done me in.  In reality, the club aren't faultless but they also have done what they can to appease him since he has come back from Madrid in 2014.

It is what it is sadly........proper incompetence. We look disorganized, chaotic.

There's more to this than meets the eye. While it was reported last summer that he wanted to go back to Madrid to be with his kids it was also reported on 4th January 2018 in the Telegraph that he was close to extending his contract to 2023 on £200k per week and that it was important we signed Hazard at the same time. He said he would sign if Hazard signs.

What has changed since then. Has he had a sudden case of the "guilts" about his kids or has Eden decided to not sign. I suspect Hazard may not extend his contract and because of this he wants out.

The Daily Express is just now reporting that Chelsea have "sealed a deal" to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga of Athletico Bilbao. £72m release clause.

If it were another paper I might be happy.

I don't buy this family stuff personally. It may or may not be true but it is also very likely an image damage limitation narritive being put out there.

Some people can’t see beyond their own bias. I am no board sympathiser, that much is clear from my posts in the past, but as you say this is 100% not their fault. Courtois has f***ed us here and it’s in my opinion a despicable thing to do to a club that’s developed you the way we have with him. I’d say that whether it was a city/Arsenal player as well.

 

What will be the boards fault is if we head in to the season with Caballero as our no.1 it might be painful to pay it but we need to activate someone of Oblaks quality release clause or we are in serious trouble this season.

We'd be mad to be a mere staging post for Real's anointed Modric successor, we should only be bringing in Kovacic if there's an option to make the move permanent next year.

My opinion on Courtois is that he is a steady keeper but not a match winning game changing keeper. We may we'll miss him when he's gone but if we sold cech at 26 then that would of been a disaster, we will get over Courtois departure.

Sign kovacic on loan, sign kepa. 

Get Courtois in "Hey d**khead, we've sorted your move out, your going to Luton on loan, it's 40 miles that way now f**k off."

Sadly not worth alot these days...........

He is not our player anymore for me. No problem that he wants to leave, I can respect that, but missing trainings and ignore the manager it's something different.

Wish him the best everywhere he will play, He had good moments with us, but also some bad. Still one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
