I will be truly amazed if they have come up with some way of fitting a stadium that large on such a small piece of land.

Standing room only!!!!!

I think 20000 seats will be underground, so they won't be able to see the pitch and will watch on big screens.

No worries. About 20,000 of the people that go these days don't really give a t*ss anyway.

Me and a couple of others are going to the Bridge next Tuesday for the meeting with the consultants. Will post a note of what is discussed and see if I can take photos plans. I've a few questions (so far) which I hope to ask.

1. Will there be an area where fans can stand?

2. Where will away fans be allocated? May be too early in the planning stages for that to be answered but no harm in asking.

3. Will there be an impact on prices? A couple I know are ST holders at Man. City and as part of the redevelopment of the Etiad stadium the cost of their ST is being reduced by £100 next season. Could Chelsea do the same?

If anyone has any questions they would like asked I'll try and ask them and post the answers.

Boyne if you get the chance to ask question will you ask will there be a single tier stand behind one of the goals that could house our vocal support ? Cheers

Bluegraham and ForeverCarefree, will do.

One other question I've just thought of. What do the board of the CPO think of the proposals?

If I'm allowed to I'll take photos of plans and post here.

I contacted four people who have memberships and they still haven't been sent invitations to make comments. I sent them copies of the stuff I received from the club.Has anyone with membership being sent anything? Seems wrong that members haven't been contacted. That will be another question I can ask. Why haven't members received copies.

I've heard nothing mate

Thanks all for responding about members not being contacted. I find it very strange that members haven't been contacted. I can't recall seeing how many members we have but guess it must be in the tens of thousands.

Not forgetting us CPO holders either, heard nothing from CFC.

Carshalton Blue, have just found this on the CPO website. Posted today.

Many shareholders will have received invitations, recently sent out by Roman Abramovich’s professional team, to attend the consultation exhibition for potential proposals for the expansion of spectator capacity of Stamford Bridge stadium.

The consultation at this time is for neighbours, season ticket holders and members. We are aware that not every shareholder is a season ticket holder, member or local resident and that, at this early stage, the sessions are aimed at those specific groups of people.

However we contacted Mr Abramovich’s professional team and they have agreed to host an additional session on 3 July between 10am and 1pm that is exclusively for CPO shareholders falling outside those groups.

We realise this is short notice but hope that shareholders appreciate and take up this offer.

Where: East Stand Reception, Stamford Bridge Stadium.

When: Friday 3 July, from 10am to 1pm.

I'm an international member and I got the below invitation via email:

Dear Member

A year ago a study of the area from Fulham Broadway to Stamford Bridge and beyond was commissioned by Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich to examine the potential of upgrading the streetscape.

The study also began to assess the feasibility of an expansion of the stadium capacity within the existing historical site boundary, based on the principles of improving site access, benefiting the neighbourhood and enhancing the spectator experience.

Mr Abramovich has appointed a professional team to assess, in more detail, the feasibility of expanding the existing stadium capacity at Stamford Bridge Grounds.

The process now enters a further local consultation phase. This will include an explanation of the rationale for expansion, driven by spectator demand for more seats and the need to increase stadium revenue to remain competitive with our major rivals, this revenue being especially important under Financial Fair Play rules.

Technical solutions for stadium capacity expansion are being investigated initially.

This stage of the consultation will focus at present on discussing the rationale and technical solutions for expansion with residents and match-going spectators.

Local stakeholders, neighbours, season ticket holders and club members will be invited to comment on the potential expansion.

This feedback, which to date has assisted our progress in earlier stages, will continue to inform the next stage of the study.

We therefore invite you to attend this consultation phase:

Dates: 30 June, 1 July, 2 July

Times: 12noon - 8pm daily

Venue: East Stand reception, Stamford Bridge Stadium, Stamford Bridge Grounds, Fulham Road SW6 1HS

Thank you for your participation and continued support.

Can't understand why the brochure hasn't been sent out to CPO. Will ask when I'm there next week. Also the "session" for the CPO on the Friday is only between 10.00am and 1.00pm. A bit unfair on those who can't get time off work. Not sure why they couldn't make it like the other sessions i.e. between noon and 8pm. At least it gives people a chance to go after work.

Looks like from the responses above that invites to members have been sent out randomly. I wonder how the club chose who the invites should go. Names out of a hat?

Surely there's no reason why CPOs can't attend on one of the other days if they can't make the 3rd July though? Local residents are invited so they won't be asking for membership cards or anything. I'm sure you could just turn up at one of the other sessions.

Seems to me its a typical Chelsea balls up, as a member i'll go along on the dates i was given on my email, as a CPO i cant make the times they've offered due to work.

And we're relying on them to build us a spanking new ground(gulp)

For the North Stand, my money is on a partnership with TFL with Chelsea FC stumping up money for a concrete box tunnel for rail at the back of the North stand also incorporating a new match day station, future provision provided for a new rail line extension incorporated into the construction.

That's a good point.  There's a decent amount of distance behind the MH to move the pitch towards the railway lines if the station is integral and build a large steep lower or single tier by lowering the pitch level.  This would enable the West to have a steeper lower tier as stated in the article above, extend it towards the MH, knock down the section closest to the Shed which gives scope to move and enlarge the Shed End to match the MH and an East Stand to match the West.  Lovely symmetrical looking stadium and I've just saved the club millions in architects fees.
