Posters on an architectural forum give their opinions ..

Decided to read most of the thread just for the sheer novelty of visiting an architecture forum. Thought it would be an interesting change of pace from the sometimes tedious tribalism of football. Guess what I found amidst the mostly congenial dicussion of stadium plans? An obnoxious Arsenal fan, of course.

Feels like they've completely infested the internet. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a "GoonerCatLady69" on a knitting forum who endlessly goes on about how much classier her ugly handmade sweaters are and criticizes every poor woman (or man) who knits something in blue.

Same here bro, i was expecting them to be sharing ideas related to what the website is all about, but i was surprised with what i saw.

Yeah.. God forbid it's built of bricks for a change eh ...
I think it's an amazing piece of ingenuity by the club, and what a gesture by Roman, if this goes ahead he will have proved that it's not all about money with him.

He's grown to love our club, and intends to leave his son a legacy, the lad is as much Chelsea as anyone, and has known nothing else in his life.. We are so lucky.

As apposed to building it out of chocolate and pineapples?

Nearly spat my coffee out you jerk!

I'm a member of that forum, and have been since 2007.

There's an entire section dedicated to sports, and there's one Arsenal supporting member in particular who is a complete and utter twunt.

Everything Arsenal does is superior to every other club. Chelsea's new stadium? Unoriginal and boring, just like their manager.

Christ Almighty.

That's quite an interesting idea, matching stadium design to the Manager or club image...Arsenals would something flimsy on stilts with lots of telescopes for spying on the neighbours...Liverpool's would be something full of character and history,  like a Medieval midden.

Surely any new Arsenal stadium can use their abundance of 4th placed trophies to prop it up?

The stadium can then be wrapped in a shower curtain with several holes in for Arsene to peep through.

The outside stalls can sell clubs, rocks and stones so the neanderthals going in can smash each other to death and turn on each other when it all inevitably goes wrong, and at the end of the season, the stadium can collapse, just like their aspirations.

No matter what anyone thinks of Jose - I didn't think anyone could ever accuse him of being boring!

Somewhere along the line he's picked up the nickname Boring Maureen.

I don't get it either.

Hahaha,

Maybe the stands would face outwards so all the fans could say "I didn't see it" :)

How do you know BQ, you seen it?

Ha ha!  I did wonder when I wrote that whether someone would make some such comment!  (also the twin meaning of the word bore)

Just going to close this thread as the other one has more posts and more information in it, no point in merging them as anyone reading through will get confused.
