October 31, 201510 yr Like some on here I did follow us in the 70's and 80's in fact 1968, hope was the thing then, up and down, up and down. Never ever lost faith. But because of probably an old gits memory, I was never so much confused as to why we are so unbelievably crap at the moment, never remember players giving so little effort aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah f.ck it
October 31, 201510 yr Yep, Azi and Willian were top class again today. Watched JM's post match ... god, he is suffering. The thing is, I still back him, and more than anything, I cannot see a better long-term solution right now.
October 31, 201510 yr If Oscar's long shot had gone in, if Lucas had been sent off. It's been that kind of a season. Taking off Mikel and then Azpilicueta was not good but most worrying was the way the heads went down after Liverpool's second.
October 31, 201510 yr Sadly I think the end is nigh for Jose. I thought we would be better without Ivan but was totally wrong. There doesn't seem to be any improvement and we look like we have ran out of ideas, there is something wrong at our club behind the scenes in my opinion. Jose has lost the players and I think the only reason he is still here is the disgusting amount of money it will cost us. I am a big fan of Jose but we can't keep saying next week it will be better, it now looks like Hazard is being targeted by Jose( maybe rightly so). If we are honest we have been playing poor since xmas, the players also must take a share of criticism but sadly the buck will stop with Jose. He's still our best ever manager but time to call Gus/Carlo I think.
October 31, 201510 yr As for tactics ... why the heck don't we ever play with TWO strikers. Why don't anyone play like that any more. Stick Remy AND Costa in and let's lob balls up to them for a while, and just concentrate on not conceding. We could still have Willian and Hazard on to hurt on the counter.
October 31, 201510 yr - Baba had to get in already in the second half, he's attacking LB and that's exactly what we missing during our counter attacks. Azpi joins the attacks but Zouma isn't because he's not RB, he's perfect CB. (perfect example for that is Azpi's assist to Ramires goal) - Remy had to get in the second half and not Falcao. Remy offers more than Falcao and I think he could offer more than Costa this game. It's disappointing to see Falcao above him. - Traore and Loftus-Cheek couldn't be out of the squad for this game, every game that was given them, they've proved that they're good enough to play for us, even start for us. - We can't lay down after 10 minutes and put effort only in the defensive duty. We have good quality in the attack, we have fantastic players, but they're out of form and we must find a solution to get them back into their form. Working only in the defence won't improve them, or help them play better. If we want to start playing better then we have to stick with Jose, he's the right man for us but he has to change his tactic, also his favourites. I will support our team no matter what, but Jose must play different players, and more youth. Edited October 31, 201510 yr by IliyaKrostin
October 31, 201510 yr cant score cant defend = not winning games, kennedy was ok for ten mins but hes not the answer, falcao completely useless
October 31, 201510 yr I wonder what life is like for people who don't follow football. The weekends must be so relaxing.
October 31, 201510 yr Having calmed down and thought it through I've got to say the issue must be tactics. If we're going to lose let's go all out to try and win. What's the point of soaking pressure for nearly 90 minutes only to cave at the end.
October 31, 201510 yr Sad, sad day when we get beat by Liverpool but we played right into their hands. No matter how little goals Liverpool had scored prior to this game, if you sit back and defend for 41 mins after a goal then the chance of them scoring increases dramatically, we made it so easy for them. I don't know if this opinion is shared by others but having Mikel on from the beginning was a disaster waiting to happen. To play a player who is notably extremely uncomfortable in possession against a high pressing side was a ridiculous decision, every time he got the ball he was swarmed
October 31, 201510 yr I know Zeta ... honestly, this is the xxth weekend where I am sitting here just feeling deflated trying get excited about the rugby. Ah well, it is all due for the love of this damn football club, no helping it I am afraid ;).

What's the point of soaking pressure for nearly 90 minutes only to cave at the end. It's this 4-2-3-1, it's sh*t, it always has been. We started using it under RDM as a way to play Mata, hazard and Oscar all at once, but it's a f**king negative formation.
October 31, 201510 yr Agree with the formation ... I think it is exactly a way to attempt to "accommodate" the fact that we have Oscar, Willian, Hazard etc playing behind a striker. I have always thought 4-3-3 is better anyway; could push up Willian and Hazard, and create a rock of a midfield with Mikel/Ramires, Matic, Fabregas.

The sad thing is a midfield 3 of Oscar, Matic and 1 of Cesc, RLC, Ramires or other would be quite effective
October 31, 201510 yr I just have to get something off my chest, if this was happening to Arsenal, their smug fans would have crumbled months ago, also lap it up, but we're still last years champions and you still haven't won the league for a long time, same applies to the dippers. I've seen so many bitter posts from rival fans, all over social media, all these ‘bye Jose’ type of comments, maybe start to focus on your own manager, Wenger who can't deliver a Premier League title, Brenden, well..he was sacked hastily, you had no faith in him, even Pellegrini who fails to get City going in the Champions League and Van Gaal hasn't managed to transition United in to a trophy winning side yet. You're bashing our manger, still calling us plastics etc..yet you're contradicting yourselves because the majority of our fans are getting behind the team and we still love Jose, whether we agree with some of his antics or not. Long winded post, but I think most of our fans have been great considering the situation and you look at the likes of Newcastle, in the past their fans have started throwing toys when things don't haven't gone their way.
October 31, 201510 yr I do not want Jose to be fired BUT How is it not the managers fault today? Who picks the team? who sets the team up? who instructs the team to play defensive football after 5mins.? who was it that substituted the players?
October 31, 201510 yr Well put Floyd. The key reason for the absolutely enormous amount of schadenfreude is that this is Chelsea and Mourinho. Everybody loves to see us suffer, and are feeding off it. I have said this before on here, but I only thing we will turn this around when we come out swinging, and say: "We're Chelsea, don't mess with us". Today's performance was the anti-thesis of that sentiment ... extremely worried and anxious once we got ahead. Don't get me started on other fans ;), but if you look at Arsenal, they have something about them this year (well early days, but probably!), but EVEN with Chelsea out of the picture, City are probably going to pip them to the title, and then the only thing they have left is to be happy they're above us. As for Van Gaal ... without going into details on my view here, I think he is utterly clueless, but at least his team can keep a clean sheet ;). All that talk about "plastic Chelsea fans" are just sour grapes. I am not English, but I have never understood why some fans feel they are "special" or more "genuine" in this country; I hate it. Everyone who is a fan knows exactly what that means no matter what the club. Why do you think Mourinho is suffering so much at the moment ... he loves London, he loves Chelsea ... I have huge respect for that kind of sentiment.
October 31, 201510 yr I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. Jose employs the same tactic against every 'big' team. Park the bus and hope to get something on the counter. This time we got lucky with an early goal and that was that. Mourinho's fans seem to ignore the fact that we continue to struggle to create any goal scoring chances every game we play. How is that even possible with so much talent that we are unable to create anything upfront? He's so preoccupied with not taking any risks that the whole team is stifled. It's painful to watch. Jose's success in the past was always built around great defensive effort and organization and strong team morale. Now his defense is leaking goals every which way and the players don't seem to respond to whatever he's preaching in training.
October 31, 201510 yr Clattenburg is a ....... disgrace, ....... corrupt piece of ...., yellow for Mikel for a meaningless touch, a moment later Lucas stops a counter attack in the same way and gets nothing. We get nothing and I doubt it's a coincidence. 90% aren't even performing at half quality, Hazard needs to show he has the mental strength to go with his ability because that's the sign of a top player. Show Mourinho full support and give him everything to fix this mess, starting financially in January.
October 31, 201510 yr Tactics and team spirit. Changing players won't solve much. Let's get back to 433 for a start.
October 31, 201510 yr Salah? Cuadrado? You are slating Hazard who was the best player in the league last season and Fabregas who was like second in all of Europe for his assists. But this is not last season it is 2015/2016 season, they should not be excuse this season for last seasons performances.
October 31, 201510 yr What I find even more disappointing than our season so far is some of the abuse being hurled between some of the posters here. Get a grip ffs.
