Chelsea vs Liverpool (PL) 31/10/15 KO 12:45 GMT

Said to my dad after we scored, we'll need about 3 goals, because we concede on avg about 2 per game (probably higher now). So we sit back and create nothing else in the first half (literally nothing, we had 1 shot on or off target in the first half).

I could take the defeats if we were at least having a go at beating teams, but this is the worst football i've ever seen us play, and it's no exaggeration to say it's probably the worst football any team is playing in the league this season. Absolute garbage.

If you were a fan in the late 70-80s now you may understand what it used to feel like following Chelsea. So personally I can take this and 100% Jose is the man to lead us out of this.

^^ +1

Don't want Jose gone but as spud said you cannot attribute poor confidence entirely to how we are playing. There is no sign of improvement. Added to that Costa will get 3 games again for the kick and things aren't going are way at all it's hard to see JM retain his current position

I'm hoping that I'm wrong but our only evidence is RA's past behaviour. That said, CFC have got to start winning. The top of the league is now less important to CFC than the bottom. That sounds sensationalist but there has to be a change in form. Worryingly, CFC are no longer intimidating other teams - other sides think CFC can be beaten.

I think JM's the right man but RA is the one making decisions.

glad im not the only one who feels this way.

Far be it from me to jump to the defence of Clattenburg, who has well and truly screwed us over on more than one occasion, but attempting to blame Clattenburg for today's performance, today's result, is clutching at straws.

Look back at the first half, we started brightly, took a well deserved early lead. We could easily have gone 2-0 up in a short space of time. So what does Mourinho do? He instructs the players to sit back, and invite Liverpool on to us. From that moment on it was  almost inevitable that they would equalise.

Liverpool are no world beaters, no Barcelona or Bayern - so why the need to sit back for thirty five minutes or more of the first half? There are no guarantees in football, but if we'd carried on as we began the game, I'd have fancies our chances of getting an actual win far more than by by sitting back and letting them come on to us.

For that, Mourinho is entirely to blame.

Agree with this to an extent, sitting back given the weak mentality of the players was asking for trouble. That said, I'm not saying it was the only reason we lost today, but I do think Clattenburg's failure to send off Lucas was a pivotal moment.

Sadly it just shows how important Drogba and Cech were last season, the team morale gets so low after we concede and nobody plays well anymore.Although we didn't really do much after Ramires' goal except defend and counter attack, which reminded me a little of how matches like this went during the first season with Mourinho(second spell),the only thing different is the result..

Meanwhile today we got a motivated Liverpool team that fought till the end.Not to say that they played very well, they also got lucky with one or two deflected goals and maybe a red card, but what stuck to mind was how they all went back to defend and attack in seconds while we only had like 4 players running to defend while the others just walked and looked, showing little to no motivation or maybe tiredness, considering it was the same team that played vs Stoke 4 days ago except Azpilicueta.

Hopefully the next run of games will get the team's morale up until the winter transfer, which should also be planned carefully,"rushed" transfers such as Salah and Cuadrado will only make things worse.

If we spent what we did in the 70s-80s on players and wages I think most would be fine with it. But we arent so the standards are naturally higher

Well said my thoughts exactly don't forget the prices to watch football at Chelsea not excactky the same cost as standing in the shed or sitting on the benches. Its no longer the working mans game

I know, it's criminal to go 1-0 up and then just stop. I do take part of the blame for the result though. At 1-1, when we were on top after Kenedy had come on for Hazard, I turned to my son and said, "Is Coutnho even still on the pitch - don't think I've seen him touch it since he scored". Literally 10 seconds later he put them 2-1 up and I got plenty of verbal off my son!

The only good thing is that the guy on the coach next to me is sharing his home made brownies.

Hash brownies? Or am I betraying my Amsterdam roots now?

Felt for you this afternoon BQ.

I've found that humming "Chelsea til I die" helps. And a beer.

Beer is helping slightly. And knowing that whatever happens, we won the league last year. And Liverpool haven't.

Trust me, 1 of the problems I have with jose is that pragmatism, however in the lvp game, that tactic did look promising in the 1st half..

I'm all for taking initiative but we couldn't do sh*t with it as there was probably no attacking gameplan from the manager.. The only way he can think of is what we saw for the past few games, playing on counter but even that now not working anymore and he has no answer..

Positives...? Willian and Azpilicueta were the best of the bunch, and Kenedy looked pretty lively when he came on. Cahill had a mare though.

Kenedy should start the next game.

Don't think it will make much difference to be honest. Changing the players doesn't seem to be working, it's the tactics i think, they just aren't working this season.
