January 16, 201610 yr Great comeback and hopefully it will lift up the spirits and gives us more confidence in the next few games. Having said that, the performance was a great example of why we're struggling this season. The defense let the team down once again (JT's own goal, Zouma and Ivanovic caught ball watching for Everton's third, etc). On top of it, the central midfield doesn't offer protection to the backline, so they're under pressure far too often. Matic's abysmal form continues. Mikel was just as bad in the first, got better in the second. Still, we need to address the CM in the summer, because this is our Achilles heel. Ivanovic shouldn't be a starter, he is a useful player to have in some situations, but unlike the old days he offers nothing going forward and his lack of speed and constantly getting caught out of position costs the team at the back far more than whatever he can master getting forward. Today Zouma was cleaning after him all game long. Enough is enough. Pedro needs to hit the gym if he wants to make it in the PL and learn to stop running like a headless chicken when no running is needed. His ball control is also quite poor for a La Masia graduate. It's incredibly frustrating to see him play because he clearly works his socks off and leaves everyting on the pitch, but the return is so disappointing. Costa, Fabregas and Azpi were quite good. Willian is our player of the season but he wasn't at his best, I thought. As far as the subs go, Kenedy looked decent, even though his inexperience showed. One thing certain, the kid is a player. January 16, 201610 yr very fortunate to get a point out of this match, but I will take it. I was worried about our D & rightfully so - gave up 3 goals jeez
January 16, 201610 yr Absolutely robbed here. I'd be embarrassed if we were granted the draw like that. A terrible performance capped off by an offside, over-time goal.

January 16, 201610 yr It wasn't over time, your lot celebrated for over a minute when you scored to make it 2-3. Yeah it was an offside goal, but we were robbed ourselves against West Brom a fair few times. We were on the counter attack in added on time and ref blew for half time before added time was even up, Yacob should have been sent off twice, Costa should have had a penalty and West Brom were getting away with fouling our players all over the pitch. This kind of sh*t has been happening a lot to us in the last year. None of this is getting any notice though, but when Chelsea get a lucky decision, people can't shut up about it, funny that. Also, you can't moan, Man City had a clear pen denied against you only a few days. Not to mention the offside goal Bournemouth scored against us.
January 16, 201610 yr I've lost count of the amount of times Matic gets caught on the ball, loses a 50:50 or fails to clear his lines. He is desperately out of form and needs an extended break. Cesc was very good today I thought

The goal came in the 99th minute. I do not care about your history against West Brom. This is Everton. I also do not care about our history with City, although seeing as you've brought it up, in the previous game James Milner was awarded a penalty against us which was incorrectly given. So in that instance, what goes around comes around. You were granted a draw like that only a matter of days ago you buffoon See above. You mad bro ? image.png Always playing the victim card. I swear there's something wrong with the water in Merseyside. Toffee anyone? May have a sour taste though. We're not like the others. We don't send death threats when we lose, or when Gerrard wants to leave us. This was bull though. You have been gifted a win in more ways than one. To play it off like this is just sad. I've often found myself enjoying Chelsea, both because of Mourinho and the constant tormenting of the redsh*te, but you've certainly changed my perception for the worse here. January 16, 201610 yr I guess it's a good thing I don't have any hair to pull out. If Costa can maintain this form till the end of the season then we're at the bare minimum competitive. edit- Is he injured then? Edited January 16, 201610 yr by Luca Vialli
January 16, 201610 yr Ah the irony a mouser complaining about being robbed Still 14th Unbeaten but not winning sweet FA If Romans not bringing in reinforcements it's going to just continue like this. Let's get real the team played Shyte again, pub teams could score against this piss poor defence. Gooners away next, who have the best keeper in the league. More freaking irony !

You mean the offside that goal that was set up by 3 hopeful cushioned headers, with some powder puff challenges from your boys? You mugged yourself off pal, nobody did it for you.
January 16, 201610 yr The referee added on 7 minutes to make up for the Costa injury and our celebration. The goal came in the 99th minute. 98th minute actually. January 16, 201610 yr 98th minute actually. And the celebrations for your third goal contributed to the seven minutes I believe, ergo the added time at the end. Indeed. I think the game restarted at 91.20 after the Everton 3rd goal.

You mugged yourself off pal, nobody did it for you. It was offside. It was a 99th minute goal. It shouldn't have happened. The referee has given you the win. Accept it; I know I have.
January 16, 201610 yr 98th minute actually. And the celebrations for your third goal extended the seven minutes I believe, ergo the added time at the end. 99th minute. A goal scored on or past 98:01 is registered as a 99th minute goal. The time was added on after the celebrations. The seven minutes took this into consideration. If Funes Mori didn't celebrate like that, we'd have been looking at 5 minutes. Edited January 16, 201610 yr by notawool

January 16, 201610 yr You have been gifted a win in more ways than one. . Makes a change don't you think, remember one of ours being bunny chopped? Career threatening tackle? Hazard most fouled player? Don't get me started on penalties not awarded... Over the season most teams have things fall in their favour, or not, one hopes it evens out. Off side fair dos, but the time element has been verified. It's footie after all.
January 16, 201610 yr The Funes Mori goal looked to go out of play from the corner anyway. Ref had a bit of a mare, but we'll take it. Love that we are in 14th, and we still manage to piss everyone off.
January 16, 201610 yr As someone on twitter said: JOhn Terry scoring an offside goal in the final minute of overtime...nothing more Chelsea than that

We lost to Bournemouth to an offside goal, we got shafted by a ref v brom. We got a decision today. Swings and roundabouts.
