Chelsea vs Everton - Sat 16 Jan - 15:00

Featured Replies

Good spirit to come back twice, though it would be nice if we could look like we gave a sh*t from the start instead of waiting until we're 0-2 down.

Ivanovic was a shambles, and the way he literally just stood there and watched 3 Everton players attack that cross for the 3rd goal was disgraceful.

Matic looks done as a top player.

Pedro needs to hit the weights and bulk up.

Oscar I was seething with, even chasing the game at 2-3 down, he was just jogging all around the pitch, not bothering to close players down. it's like if he doesn't get picked to start, he doesn't care. Sell at earliest opportunity please.

Fabregas and Costa finally showing signs of getting some form back. if hazard could join them now, we might finish top half.

Willian and Dave quality as usual.

Terry showing fight and desire to turn it around after the OG

Tactically, even with 2 DMs, the number of times Everton were running at our back 4, with Matic and Mikel lumbering back to try and catch them was shocking.

It was well past seven minutes, and an offside, but in the midst of everything going on this season I'll celebrate every good moment like a cup final pretty much. Not to draw any attention away from our performance, which was dire for at least 50 minutes and needs a lot of improvement for the Arsenal game, but I'll savour every last bit of this.

I know, trust me I'm happy too (actually, I think relieved is more accurate), but I feel for Everton fans. The offside isn't the issue...the ref had chances to blow FT, and he just didn't do it.

We benefited, so that's great, but I'm just a bit confused. Unless there's a huge delay in injury time, I don't think there's much reason to go beyond the 7 minutes, when attacks have broken down right on 7 minutes, and again 30 seconds later.

The only good thing to say about this is that this team under Hiddink (and I mean that) seems for whatever reason NOT to lose. That's a good quality ;).

As I said at the start:

Everton players can get down and dirty when required, too many of ours are unable to do it or like Costa go to far and try and beat up opposition. About the best I'm hoping for is a draw, anything more would be spectacular considering our recent form.

while we got the draw our defensive abilities are still terrible.

John Terry was offside and the goal was almost a minute after the designated added time.

A) There is some justice there after the Liverpool goal earlier in the season, but B) please let this stop the stupid conspiracy theories as the added time is just a MINIMUM so all the talk after the Coutinho goal was just bollocks.

The problem is consistency. We were counter attacking against West Brom at half time on Wednesday and the ref blew the whistle before the added time was up. The refs all ref the game their own way when they should all be the same. There shouldn't be such a thing as one ref being better than the other, they should all be as good as each other.

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a half of football as much as that second half. There's clearly still a problem in defence but we played with more spirit and energy than I've seen for long time. Not that you'd know it from reading this thread though, obviously.

You're right about that, no question I'd be fuming beyond belief if I were an Everton fan now. The only reason I can think of is if there were was an injury or some other delay *during* the stoppage, as you say.

Great comeback by our lads!

Who the f**k cares if it's offside?

Great comeback yes. Care about offside? On this occasion no ! You beautiful Blues!

+1 ... Chelsea have been involved in a lot of, to put it nicely, "weird" situations with overtime this season. They need to sort it out. Coutinho's goal for Liverpool was robbery, and last week when Ivan broke after the corner there was 30 seconds left. What gives?

Their celebration in the 90th min took about a whole min so that was probably added on.

Fair enough I guest ;).
