January 31, 201610 yr We may have ended up playing them in the semi or the final anyway, let's knock them out sooner.
January 31, 201610 yr Paul Ince on BBC1 sounds like he has forgotten how to speak. He is terrible. Made me wish they had Savage on because even though Sav is a c**t at least he can string a sentence together...

January 31, 201610 yr great performance today against a pretty poor side to be honest, but well done to the team and to mk dons for not going down the road of kicking them to bits!! shame about city in the next round, probably get knocked out on pens in the replay

January 31, 201610 yr Opposition was poor but fair play to them as luckywerthers said. Played the game, not like Stoke etc etc. We played very well. What I'm pleased about is £25mil for Ramires & we have RLC. Still young but no worse a player than Ramires. Goal at Barca though, the rest is history. Sorry, I forgot. We got no history. January 31, 201610 yr Quality team performance. Really impressed by; Oscar (obv!) Hazard Baba Diego RLC did well, thought at times he didn't want to make the runs needed but he dragged the opposition around nicely
January 31, 201610 yr That will be clash of the Titans. City wants FA trophy, knowing that PL wont be as easy as they thought with Arsenal, Lester and Tottanham playing excellent football. When it comes to Chelsea, FA Cup is only achievable silverware we can get this season. CL is out of question unless we will be extreamly lucky. I think we can beat PSG but Barca, both Madrid, and Bayern not so much.

January 31, 201610 yr We missed a lot of easy chances and looked slow in central defense but overall lots of fun to watch. As expected against this class of opposition our young guys looked the goods. Baba, rlc and even Traore. Rlc could work harder defensively, and will have to if he wants to start in the pl.
January 31, 201610 yr Apart from several short bursts and the pass through for Oscar's goal I thought RLC was pretty tame tbh. Not sure what the fuss is about him but he doesn't seem to get stuck in as you would expect an allegedly hungry prospect.
January 31, 201610 yr Thought Matic was poor today, RLC played ok in patches, saw him duck out of a few tackles as well.
January 31, 201610 yr That stadium was amazing. Got to see the darts live for 3 hours before the game, then watched us win 5-1! Fantastic day
February 1, 201610 yr Apart from several short bursts and the pass through for Oscar's goal I thought RLC was pretty tame tbh. Not sure what the fuss is about him but he doesn't seem to get stuck in as you would expect an allegedly hungry prospect. I agree there was little intensity from him but then again most of the team strolled through the game like it was a training exercise anyway. Cesc pulling out from that challenge and Costa and Oscar laughing about missing yet another golden chance summed up their attitude towards the match which they knew we were definitely going to win. Still I was happy with the team, they turned it on when they needed to, although for yet another game in a row I find myself unimpressed by Matic. I really can't tell if he can tackle or position himself as a DM anymore, more than once one of their attacking players just ran through midfield with no resistance. Everyone has shown they are returning to form at some point this season except Matic.
February 1, 201610 yr badge kissing!!! allow me to be naive for this one and leaning on thinking all is well with hazard, he's staying.. well well..
February 1, 201610 yr f**king hell, we have City. Oh well, we had to play a big team eventually. But now it's two big teams in the span of four days including a trip to Paris. Six matches in 20 days. That's insane. All the first team players must rest against Newcastle. Send them straight to Paris after Manchester United so they have time to adapt and recover. I'd be tempted to rest some against Watford too. The human body has limits.
February 2, 201610 yr Send them all to Paris straight after Manure? A whole week in advance? So they have time to adapt to what? Paris is only an hour or so away! Not a different climate or time-zone (ok an hour different) And rest against Watford which we want (need?) to win? Same against Newcastle. Sorry I disagree.
February 3, 201610 yr A very comfortable match. MK Dons were very poor defensively, we effectively had the game sewn up by half-time, and in the second half we were completely in control. As such, while it was enjoyable to win so emphatically, there aren't a great deal of conclusions to be made. That said, I was glad to see us give opportunities to our youngsters; it was excellent to see Loftus-Cheek and Rahman get 90 minutes, and also to see Traoré come off the bench and score. I thought Loftus-Cheek played very well, made intelligent runs and is surprisingly sophisticated on the ball for someone so young. I am always surprised to see the amount of attacking instinct that Rahman possesses. There isn't a great deal I can say about him defensively as he wasn't really put under any pressure at any point, but he flies forward with abandon, and his crossing is encouraging. Traoré took his goal extremely well, made some very good runs. On a personal note I enjoyed his performance even more as he is (as far as I'm aware) the first Burkinabè to score a goal in senior English football, and he seems to be one of those rare footballers who always plays with a smile on his face. I'm very happy for him, may it be the first of many. Once again the Matic-Fabregas midfield didn't do a particularly good job of shielding our defence (although they moved the ball around well). In the first half MK Dons looked dangerous when they went forward as they were able to break quite frequently, but in the second half (when they looked to have given up) they were more or less restricted to shots from distance. Hazard looked a little rusty at first but certainly grew into the game. He dispatched his penalty well; I hope that, on some level, that helps him get rid of the goalscoring millstone he seems to have been carrying all season. Credit to Oscar for getting a 45-minute hat trick; I know he (predictably) received a lot of criticism on here for missing a few chances early on, but he took his goals (particularly the third) incredibly well. He seems to be playing himself into form - I certainly hope that is the case as there is definitely a correlation between Oscar being at his best and Chelsea being at their best. He was probably my pick for man of the match until he went off (it seemed a little early to be a fair choice); in the end I think I would pick Loftus-Cheek. Very enjoyable game, hope we take confidence from it for the games to follow. None of them will be close to that easy.
