MK Dons vs Chelsea

Again FA cup ties are hard to guess as it's a good opportunity to rest players or let players try and re-find form but you also want to keep the squad strong.
I'd go for.
             Bogovic
Ivan - Zouma - Cahill - Baba
           RLC - Matic
Pedro - Hazard - Kenedy
     Pato/Remy/Bamford

I'd leave Costa out of the side he has been picking up knocks and could probably do with a break but which Striker we will still be at the club for this game is hard to tell

This will be the team with Remy upfront.

Just read we had a chance to sign Dele Alli when he was performing so well at the dons, but repoerts back were he wasn't as good as /Loftus cheek, well Chelsea show this faith!!

Chance for some youth.

I'd like to see this:

------------------------------ Begovic ------------------------------

Azpi ------------------ Terry ---- Cahill ---------------- Baba

--------------------- Loftus-Cheek --- Matic -------------------

Hazard ---------------------- Fabregas ------------------- Kenedy

--------------------------- Bertrand Traore -------------------

Come on CHELS!

I would rest Costa, and a few others.

Begovic

Azbi zouma Cahill baba

Mikel loftus cheek

Willian Oscar hazard

Plato ?

Subs courtois, Ivan , terry, matic, fab, Kennedy, remy

I'd keep Costa and others in to practise for PSG and Southampton away. Thrashing them would be a boost, we don't want to slip up and risk a loss to a 'lesser' side away.

Is that just you philosophising about Plato playing or have we signed an old Greek guy?

As terrible as it sounds, this is the first match ever I don't want us to win. I will be travelling back to the UK on monday the 8th until Friday, and if we draw this weekends game then it means I will get to go to my first game (the replay) at the bridge in 3 years. Come on the draw!

Any chance this pato guy could play as soon as this?

Nope.

He's not played in ages, hasn't trained with the squad and will more than likely not be anywhere near match fitness.

Even if he was there is no way he should come straight in ahead of those still here like Remy, Traore, Bamford. He'd be a second half sub at best

I would rather see the young guys get some play time.  Would be great to have:

Cortois

Baba,  Cahill, Zouma, Azpi

RLC, Mikel

Traore,  Pedro, Kennedy

Remy (Pato sub debut)

Costa needs a rest - he's limped off the last 3 games

Hazard needs a sub appearance to get minutes under the belt

Give Kennedy a full game.  The guy is really good!

Loftus needs good minutes too!

I would argue that a couple of our backup players are shoo-ins for this: Begovic, Cahill, Rahman, Kenedy, and Remy would all instantly go onto the teamsheet for me.

While I am concerned that the likes of Mikel, Fabregas and Costa may lose momentum if they are rested, I think it will be worth it in the long run as we have four games in two weeks at the beginning of February, one of which is our crucial Champions League first leg against PSG. I would also like to see if Matic can return to any semblance of form (hinted at against Arsenal), and would definitely start Loftus-Cheek. If he is going to replace Ramires as the 'fourth man' in our midfield then he absolutely has to be starting this kind of game at the very least.

If Pedro is fit (or back to good health) then I would start him on the right; I would also give Hazard a game in the middle in order to get him back to match fitness. He can be taken off at some point in the second half if necessary; a goal and a good performance in this game will hopefully do wonders for his confidence. Zouma has played the past six consecutive games - I'd probably start him in this one, but it might be worth resting him against Watford (as Guus did in the 2-2 draw on Boxing Day). That is quite a young side so I would start Ivanovic for experience.

--------------------------Begovic

Ivanovic-------Zouma--------Cahill------Rahman

--------------Loftus-Cheek-----Matic

-------Pedro-----------Hazard---------Kenedy

---------------------------Rémy
