Now that this sh*t-show of a season is finally over, it's time for some season ratings I think. I'm only rating people who played over 90 minutes for us.

 

Courtois - 6/10

Certainly not helped by a woeful defence and midfield in front of him, but didn't cover himself in any glory either. Still looks very much what he is - young. Lots of potential though.

 

Begovic - 6/10 - Looked a decent backup most of the time he was needed, but some errors including that howler against Liverpool, and his indecision when coming for crosses would make me worry if we had to rely on him for an extended period of time.

 

Azpilicueta - 7.5/10 - Never really fell to the level that most of the rest of the squad did, but wasn't playing at his usual high level either. Just sort of coasted through the season being goodish.

 

Baba - 6/10 - Jury still out on him for me. Shows glimpses of quality going forward, but then he'll whack a cross into row Z. Shows glimpses of quality at the back, but then he'll get beaten easily or give the ball away cheaply. Ball retention certainly needs some work, he is very loose with possession. I'm not sure if he's the long-term answer at LB, he really needs a full season there, instead of chopping and changing with Dave every few games.

 

Terry - 5.5/10 - Not too bad individually, but has to take his share of the responsibility for our woeful defensive record. 53 goals conceded in the PL. I think it's above 70 in all comps. Simply atrocious record. His leadership and mentor-ship is definitely needed for next year though.

 

Cahill - 5.5/10 - Pretty much the same as Terry, though individually he was a bit worse, making too many mistakes, usually positionally or not closing down quick enough.

 

Zouma - 7/10 - Still young and still has much to learn, but he's very quick, he reads the game quite well, and I think we've got a real star for the future here. All that worries me is how he will return after his lengthy injury, hopefully he can just pick up where he left off, but it's not always that easy.

 

Miazga - 5/10 - I personally thought he did all right in his brief appearances, but in general it was a pointless signing that reeks of just trying to make money in the USA market. We've got players in the youth setup who are just as good if not better.

 

Ivanovic - 4.5/10 - Horrendous start to the season, picked up a bit in the 2nd half, but I think his days at RB are done. He looks okay at CB, but I don't want to see him at RB again unless it's an emergency.

 

Matic - 2/10 - Matic gets my award for worst player of the season by some distance. Useless at protecting the back four, clumsy, slow, has the turning circle of a Volkswagen Bus, can't pass, can't shoot. Needs to f**king sort it out.

 

Fabregas - 6/10 - Another one like Ivanovic who was absolutely awful under Jose, but picked it up toward the end of the season, though it was far too late by then to make any difference. Still goes missing too much in the big games though.

 

Ramires - 5/10 - I don't remember him really doing anything other than the goal against Newcastle before he was sold.

 

Mikel - 5/10 - Funnily enough his best performance of the season was probably at CB against Liverpool. Quite what dirt he has on Guus Hiddink I have no idea, but it must be something big to get in the starting 11 every week.

 

Oscar - 3.5/10 - Even by his usual standards of a handful of good games and then dross, he was sh*t this season. Wouldn't bat an eyelid if he was shipped off to Italy or France or even China.

 

Loftus-Cheek - 4.5/10 - A couple of decent performances, but too often when he's finally given a chance he either doesn't look interested and strolls around, or tries too hard and ends up being loose with possession and not really affecting the game. Personally I don't think hes got what it takes to make it as a premier league footballer, but he's the one the club seem to have put most of their faith in, so we'll just have to wait and see how he progresses if he ever gets an extended run of games.

 

Pedro - 6/10 - Hit and miss. Pretty much the definition of an inconsistent player. One minute he's amazing, the next abysmal. But I like his directness and willingness to actually cross the ball instead of f**king about passing it back and forth endlessly on the edge of the box.

 

Hazard - 5/10 - Looked much better in the last few games, but far too late to excuse how bad he was the whole rest of the season.

 

Willian - 6.5/10 - First half of the season he looked a cut above everyone else and a shoe-in for POTY. Second half he's been poor, I think not helped by the fact that as everyone else's form improved, it started to become more obvious how he wasn't really all that good, it was just that everyone else was so sh*t before, and all he'd really offered in the first half of the season was a lot of workrate and some freekicks.

 

Kenedy - 6/10 - I have no idea what to make of Kenedy. He shows glimpses of quality, but I'm not sure if he's really a winger, and he's certainly not a LB, I don't know where his best position actually is. I'd like to see more next season though.

 

Costa - 6/10 - Another who decided to turn up once Jose left. A good poacher and instinctive finished, but poor all-round player. Personally I'm sick to death of his bullsh*t antics on the pitch as well and wouldn't really care if we replaced him, as long as the replacement was good.

 

Remy - 3/10 - Waste of space, always injured, gone in the summer.

 

Falcao - 2/10 - lol

 

Pato - 4/10 - Played 1 game wasn't it? Great signing.

 

Traore - 6.5/10 - Still very raw with lots to learn, but he knows where the goal is and his link-up play is good. More next season please.

Courtois - 5 ( I think he showed poor performances, this season he wasn't a world-class goalkeeper, but we as a club had a poor season, so it's acceptable. Anyways, sometimes he was very important for us, but most of the time he disappointed)

 

Begovic - 5 ( When Tibo got injured, Begovic replaced him very well, but when he lost his spot again he didn't show good performances, but I'm happy to have him as a 2nd goalkeeper)

 

Azpilicueta - 7.5 ( Had few poor games, but most of the games he was our bright part, always did his job and didn't lose his level)

 

Baba - 6 ( I think Guss didn't have to drop Baba after PSG's first leg match, he caught his good run and he had to continue. I think we didn't really give him a chance to prove himself, I do think he's talented and can do a job for us. He had few games with big errors, but he's still young. Half of his games were good, but half of his games were bad. )

 

Terry - 6 ( Our defence was really poor, and he's part of our defence. But he was important as a captain, never gave up and always pushed the team forward )

 

Cahill - 6 ( He had some poor games, but when he did his job and was focused, then he was good. I think he was the same as Terry )

 

Ivanovic - 3 ( He must  forget this season, poor form all over the season. Always surprised to see him starting every game, big disappointment from him. )

 

Zouma - 6 ( Was our best defender, saved us many times and he's our future. I just hope his injury won't hurt him much. )

 

Miazga - 4 ( Hasn't really been tested, just after one mistake Guss kicked him from the squad. Still need more time. )

 

Matic - 4 ( Very poor start of the season, different Matic from the last season, he was one of our worst players this season, but still had few games that he did his job really well.)

 

Fabregas - 6.5 ( Very poor start of the season, but under Guss he found himself and became our reason for scoring goals. He has to save this form for the next season.)

 

Mikel - 5.5 ( He's not CB, he's only DM. Veteran of the club always gave 100% from his body, half of his games were decent, but in some of them he was really poor. But he tried and did his best.)

 

Oscar - 3 ( Lost his position in the first team, he doesn't really suit us as an N.10. Time for him to leave.)

 

Loftus-Cheek - 5 ( He showed good performances, he found himself very quickly in some of his games, but he has to improve his working on the pitch. He's very strong and fast, he has to use these to improve his hardworking on the pitch. )

 

Pedro - 6 ( Started really well, in the middle of the season lost himself and showed poor performances. Since then showed few good games, but he didn't really impress me.)

 

Willian - 7.5 ( Our POTY, was our best player this season. He has to play at his best all season, and not only 75% of the season. )

 

Hazard - 5 ( One of our big disappointments, only in his last games he started to show what he really know to do. We needed him and missed him this season, he has to pay back next season.)

 

Kenedy - 5.5 ( He's not LB, we had to play him much more in as LW. He's really great in counter attacks, deserved more playing time. )

 

Diego Costa - 6 ( Woke up too late, we needed him since the beginning of the season. With Guss he has improved and started to score. Fantastic performances against PSG. )

 

Bertrand Traore - 6 ( I think he proved himself. Of course that he still have a lot to learn but these things will come to him by gaining more confidence and experience. I believe we got a great player him, we have to play him more next season.)

 

Remy - 2 ( Nothing really to explain, his stats this season explains everything )

 

Falcao - 2 ( Knew since the beginning he will flop. This is not Falcao anymore)

 

Pato - 2 ( Another useless loan, knew it won't work )

I'm sure i did this a month or so ago, oh well i'll do it again.

 

Courtois - 4 - Poor season from him. Looks indecisive, not making many saves, look's like he can get sent off easily. Just doesn't look like a very good goalkeeper right now.

 

Begovic - 6 - Came into the side when Courtois was injured and didn't do much wrong, he has looked dodgy from crosses and set pieces in recent times though.

 

Azpilicueta - 7 - Still our most solid defender. Had a slight wobble a few weeks back but he's back to normal now.

 

Rahman - 5.5 - He's had a decent run of games under Hiddink, but still look's like he has a lot to learn. He has his moments, but under pressure he seem's to struggle

 

Ivanovic - 3 - Improved under Hiddink, but nowhere near enough. He's been awful at RB all season, doesn't get tight enough, allows teams to get crosses in and makes sloppy passes. At CB he looks a bit more solid but he still get's caught out of position at times and look's very casual which leads to more mistakes.

 

Cahill - 5.5 - So up and down this season. He has a good game, then he has a bad one. Injuries hasn't helped him.

 

Zouma - 6.5 - He was ok, but i don't think he was as good as some were making him out to be before he was injured. Even when he was playing, we were awful defensively. His main problem is that he loses people when the ball is in the air, for a CB, that is a big problem. I like that he can track back and make good clean tackles, but he shouldn't have to do that as often as he does.

 

Terry - 6 - Obviously not one of his best season's. Not many individual mistakes like the rest, but the contract issues and injuries have gotten in the way at times.

 

Matic - 3 - Wow, what a disappointment. Looked like one of the best holding midfielders in the world last season, i thought he was going to go on and be one of best players for years to come, now look at him. Every weakness he has has been exposed this season. Can't use his right foot, doesn't like players pressuring him, plays sloppy passes out of nowhere and he seem's scared to tackle. I don't know if Ashley Barnes tackle on him has affected him mentally, but since then he hasn't been quite the same player.

 

Mikel - 5.5 - Did ok to begin with when Hiddink took over, but over time his performances dropped. He's too limited, we need someone much better in my opinion.

 

Ramires - 4 - Was poor before we sold him.

 

Fabregas - 5.5 - Look's good when he get's space, but it's like playing with 10 men when he is being marked.  To get the best out of him, i think we need to play a different way. We need our most creative player to be able to create in every game.

 

Loftus-Cheek - 6 - Hasn't had a run in the first team all season which is really disappointing when everyone else has been so poor. It's hard to work out how well he is progressing when we get's a few starts and a few late substitutions. When he has started he has looked pretty good.

 

Oscar - 3 - Poor season, he's rarely having a good game anymore. He's not progressing the way we hoped and it's got to the point where he is barely featuring anymore. He seem's to be behind the youngsters now. I personally feel that we need an upgrade.

 

Willian - 7 - Was good at the start of the season but since January he hasn't been as good. Still player of the year but only because everyone else has been so poor.

 

Pedro - 6 - Had a good start, then his performances dipped for a while. The early months it looked like he was trying to adapt to the league, he's finally getting there now though. In recent weeks he has played well. Hopefully he get's to play in a better Chelsea team next season.

 

Hazard - 4.5 - Improved in recent weeks, but has had a terrible season. Either he has been injured all season or he has been holding back for the Euro's. We will never really know what has been up with him this season though.

 

Kenedy - 6 - Look's like a decent young player. Only time will tell if he can make it at this level though.

 

Traore - 6 - Same as Kenedy.

 

Costa - 6.5 - Terrible to begin with. Overweight at the start of the season and his attitude when Mourinho was in charge was awful. He finally got his act together and has improved though. Was probably our best player in the second half of the season.

 

Remy - 2 - It's a shame Remy hasn't made it here, i think he's an ok back up. Will definitely be gone next season.

 

Falcao - 1 - 99% of the fans knew it was a waste of time bringing him here, but the club thought differently. Terrible decision to bring him here.

 

Pato - 1 - Waste of time. It was a joke of a decision to bring him here. He couldn't even play for the first few months because he was unfit. The only time he could play was when our season was already over. Bringing him here was yet another terrible decision from the club.

Agree with most of the posts bar the rating of Mikel. Putting him in to midfield has made the biggest difference to our season. Bought the best out of Cesc. He gets a solid 7 from me.

I don't think Mikel made much difference overall to be honest. Him taking over from Matic started well enough, but in the end it was back to normal. Players were running through our midfield and our defence had no protection. One simple run or pass and the opposition were through. I don't think Mikel has bought the best out of Fabregas either, Fabregas has been nowhere near his best.

Poor season by his standards but still looks like he can be a world stopper on his day. Would do everything possible to keep him in summer. 

 

Begovic - 6/10 - Had a good season when relied on other than the Liverpool mistake. Don't think he will ever be good enough for first choice. Not sure he'll be happy rotting on the bench again next season.

 

Azpilicueta - 6/10 - Same old Azpi doing exactly what was asked. Looked shaky at times and looks uncomfortable on the right now. 

 

Baba - 5.5/10 - Strange player. Looked world class against PSG and had every player in his back pocket. Same with Mahrez last game of the season. Then other games looks like a complete failure. Looks low on confidence and needs a proper run in the team next year.

 

Terry - 5.5/10 - Not a great season but not as bad as many pundits have made out. His leadership qualities alone are the reason he should be in the starting 11.

 

Cahill - 6.5/10 - Never really been a massive fan of Cahill but he's been one of the better defenders at times. Still stands off his man too much but good squad player.

 

Zouma - 8/10 - The shining light of the season. Massive improvement in every aspect of his game. Shame about the injury but will hopefully come back stronger. 

 

Miazga - 3/10 - Signed for a marketing ploy and nothing more. Got better players in the youth setup. Hopefully won't see much more of him.

 

Ivanovic - 5/10 - Woeful RB. Competent CB. Been useful to fill in with the absence of our CB. Would only use him there in future. 

 

Matic - 1/10 - The drop in his level is ridiculous. Head looking elsewhere. Didn't even celebrate when he scored the other day. Would be happy to cash in come summer.

 

Fabregas - 7/10 - Poor under Mourinho, but who wasn't? Second half of the season has been the model professional for Chelsea. Looking more confident and taking control of games.

 

Ramires - 5.5/10 - Miss his workrate in the middle but for £25? Cya.

 

Mikel - 6.5/10 - Thought he was vital in our turn around this season with Matic's performances. He's never going to make headlines but solid player.

 

Oscar - 2.5/10 - As bad as Matic this season but more expected from Oscar given his drop in recent seasons. Not creative enough for a number 10, not fast enough for a winger and useless played deeper. Doesn't have a role in the squad, would sell asap.

 

Loftus-Cheek - 6/10 - Comes in for a game, gets motm and then gets dropped for the rest of the month. He's looked lazy at times but unreal when he has the ball at his feet. Think he's wasted at #10. Played deeper he could replicate Lamps with those late runs into the box. Needs a disciplined partner next to him though. 

 

Pedro - 6/10 - The only one of our wingers that looks like a natural goalscorer. Offers something different from everyone else. Good figures for a first season in England. Most people seem to do even better second season round. 

 

Hazard - 4/10 - Turned up against Arsenal and the last 4 games or so. Rest of the season has been abysmal. I believe there is a lot more to his story than we know whether it be personal issues or what. Only player in the squad who is truly world class so need him more than ever next season. 

 

Willian - 5/10 - Been over rated this season because of his freekicks. Still offers nothing other than an engine anywhere else on the pitch. He is Ramires on the wing. Need to upgrade.

 

Kenedy - 6/10 - Has looked great in every game until about March. Think lack of playing time has effected him. For his age he looks more than up for the physical demands of the league though. Will be a good squad player next year.

 

Costa - 6/10 - A good striker who will always score goals on his day but his attitude and injuries have been concerning. One day he'll run his heart out for the team and the next screaming for a slight misplaced pass. Good striker but not sure if he's still worth the hassle?

 

Remy - 1/10 - Nothing to say. Needs to leave. People were calling for him to get more play time yet proved he's sh*te

 

Falcao - 1/10 - Dog sh*te

 

Pato - 5/10 - I think he offers something our other strikers don't with his runs behind. Can also play on the wing. Would sign him up as a back up for next season with the Remy money. 

 

Traore - 7/10 - Looked good when brought on for the last half hour popping up with goals and his goal against Stoke was great. Don't think he can operate as a lone striker it would do well with someone next to him. Looks like one of the youth that will make it.

Willian 8, all the rest 3 or 4

Everyone bar the young lads and Zouma has played well below what we expect.

Willian up until Christmas was on the verge of a 7/8 but he too has been pants for months.

Can't argue much with the original poster.

Willian's freekicks in the 1st half of the season have him rated than a 5? This has been his best season so far, and for me he is well overrated. He gets a solid 5!
