While I am no Romelu advocate, imo we have to win this deal now at all costs. The losers of this deal will face teams that will drastically increase prices on strikers seeing as we can match 75m + wages.

Interesting play by us if it's true we've matched Lukaku's transfer fee and wages but not the agent fee - perhaps it's a preconceived plan to expose the corrupt nature of agent involvement? United have already been investigated by FIFA with regard to Pogba's transfer last summer, will be interesting to see what (if anything) happens if Lukaku joins United.

This story is all over social media now.  Apparently we matched ManUre's offer for Lukaku, but not the agent fee.  It's in Rom's hands now.

No action can be taken then as Raiola iirc stipulated in the Juve contract that he gets 50% of money from any deals to a new club

I kind of hope we sign him now just for the hilarious backtracking that a lot of vocal United fans on social media would need to do.

Look in principle I agree but I think they have pushed above getting a really good price into the holding hostage territory, football boards are full of egos and a lot of deals don't get done when people they aren't dealt with in a way they see acceptable and from what we see it's not just the asking for a lot it's the way they have done it with stones and Lukaku they are messing clubs about I don't think they are showing the respect you would hope for when doing a deal that should be building a business relationship, we can always deal with athletico for example because we have dealt with them before and it's been smooth, after this I doubt we will deal with Everton again and certainly won't give them a loan player that can score them 17 goals in his first season, in my opinion it's better business accumin to take 5 mil less and be able to pick up the phone to that club later when you need something
