The assumption is that a capable manager, less set in his ways, will take over and turn Arsenal around. However, transitions are difficult. There's a lot to unpick at Arsenal. Pretty much their whole approach to football, their style, their dressing room culture, would go. And who of the current Arsenal team would you be gagging to have at Chelsea, aside from the obvious attraction? And he stands out like a sore thumb in a team of players who flatter to deceive and who often look as if they need a kick in the arse.

The only one i'd snap up is Koscielny, I think he's a really top quality centre half

Mauricio Pochettino: Tottenham will not compete with richer clubs over huge wages.

Still pay big enough wages to tempt players, managers and staff from Southampton.

Ohhhh, Jermaine Jenas thinks Spurs should start paying those players that are "good enough for Barcelona and Real Madrid" what they deserve in this cute article

Is it just me or do managers do nothing but complain now? It's always about transfers, not been able to compete with other clubs, injuries, fixtures etc.

But now we have the Leicester card to pull out every time they moan about competing financially with the 'rich' clubs.

Yeah but now because the last two Champions haven't been in Europe suddenly Europe is the excuse for certain clubs not winning the title. The media need to see through the  farce that's excuse is all the Champions prior to Leicester from the 90s onwards were all in Europe.

So I've not been following other leagues to closely this season, mainly because I've been so engrossed in what we were doing.

Just seen that Monaco beat PSG to the Ligue 1 title? What an achievement that was for them, well done to a Monaco side that is full of excellent young players and rejuvenated Falcao.

Real Madrid now within touching distance of their first league title in five years. Amazig job Zidane is doing there... Firing the FSW was the best thing they ever did!

No surprise Jenas reckons Spurs would win the league next season if they were staying at WHL. While they do look a club making progress I think that's a bold statement to make. Especially given how all the other clubs are gonna spend. It reminds me of when Arsenal fans used to say "if we'd bought a CB, a MF and a striker we'd win he league". As if other teams are just gonna stand still.

Probably feels safe saying it since there's no way for it to be tested. Fall short again and 'well if they would have been playing at WHL they would have won.' Win win for him

It is just excuses isn't it? Last season was 'the haven't got the experience yet'. (as if Leicester did) This season was 'there was never really a race' and next season will be 'if they had played at WHL'.

Yeah you're right, I just think with Jenas he's basing it all on his own bias.

Pochettino: "Tottenham will not compete with richer clubs over huge wages"
Dele Alli: "You can never say what’s going to happen in the future. No one knows. No one can predict it,’ the youngster told Sky Sports.

Cheeky bid for Harry Kane? :laugh2:

"Juventus probably have the best defensive unit in Europe but, other than that, I don't see anything better than what Spurs have got."

Lol, just read that article. Yea, no difference, Juventus and Tottenham. One team playing in a CL final on the verge of a treble, the other knocked out of Europe a second time by Genk. I expect he'll come out and say Spurs would have won Serie A next.

f**king hell, if this is how they act when they get a distance second place in the league, what the f**k would they be like in the unlikely event they actually won it, shudder to think.

Another mini rant from me (I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning) so I was just talking to my Leeds mate and he says he wants Huddersfield to win the playoff final so there's a Yorkshire team in the PL. I was like but why? You hate them any other time. What's the relevance? If it was us and say Spurs or Arsenal in the playoff final I don't think we'd want another London club to be in the PL cause we hate those teams. Obviously baring in mind I'm not from London so maybe that's why for me. What's everyone else think?

All affiliations aside, it's good to have premier league clubs spread out over the country, it's good Bournemouth have had a good spell, the south west of England needed it. The north east just lost three premier league clubs, and next season we have one NE one SE and either another SE or Yorkshire, so it would be good for the Yorkshire population.

Another half-assed decision from the FA you mean

Quote

Where there is clear and overwhelming evidence to suggest a match official has been deceived by an act of simulation, and as a direct result, the offending player’s team has been awarded a penalty and/or an opposing player has been dismissed, The FA will be able to act retrospectively under its Fast Track system

So they're not really against diving unless it results in a red card or penalty.

This line I don't like: Asked to explain his visible on-pitch frustrations, Sanchez said: "Because sometimes when I look at the team we have and the players here... because when it comes to winning the Premier League we often lose or draw against teams at home when we are superior."

Seems to me he's too used to been at a club like Barcelona where they win most of their games. This is the Premier League Sanchez! Honestly more I see and hear from this guy the less I want him. I think his attitude is all wrong.

He's coming to the realisation he's been duped into playing his prime years under a tactically clueless psychopath, can't blame him.

How can you be duped, you just check Arsenals wiki page, zero premier league titles in over 13 years now. Duh !

I think it's more just an arrogance personally. Football isn't as simple as because your team is better you will win. Sanchez attitude is just wrong imo.

"Best team in the history of the Premier League because they didn't spend as much as previous champions and it wasn't pure luck like Leicester"

"THIS is the greatest achievement in Premier League history"

"They can go on to win the Champions League now for sure. They're up there with Real Madrid and Barcelona"

I'd f**king shoot my ears out.

Arsenal do in fact have way too many of those matches where they should win but end up bottling it though so he's not wrong, is he? Don't think it's a matter of being used to Barca. He wasn't a Barca kid, only spent about 2 years there (unlike Pedro who's a La Masia kid and 3 time CL winner and would have had a right to cry about our state last season). He played for Udinese for a while and whatever other Chilean clubs. So he has had his fair share of losses in his career. This isn't on Sanchez. Everyone knows Arsenal are perennial bottlers.

I tend to judge Arsenal on the question of how many PL teams would be nervous at the prospect of playing Arsenal? You can argue they've ceased to cause much fear among other top teams. Outside of the top six, many middling teams must fancy their chances, given some luck.

Whereas, being honest, if CFC turn up you worry about the outcome for your team.

Arsenal have a much reduced fear factor, which says something about how far they have fallen off the pace.
