Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2016/2017

1. Silva is class. He'll keep Hull up and move to a bigger club by 2018. If I was Newcastle I'd be banging his door down when they are promoted.

2. I'm only half scared of United next season. Sure they're going to spend another 200m this summer but we'll also have the 'summer of Conte' (I'm calling it now, this is going to be the summer that sets us up for 5-10 years) to combat the likes of them and City, who are also going to spend obscene amounts of money

As long as Mourinho is in charge they're  nothing to be scared of.

Next season our biggest challenge will be Man City as I'm sure Pep will have an idea of who he wants and since money is no object he'll get them. Liverpool and Arsenal will remain the same especially if Wenger remains and Spurs, well.....

“Have I looked to sign Kante? Yes. When he was in France and when he was at Leicester,” Wenger said. “I cannot explain everything [about why he preferred Chelsea] but it is quite obvious when you look at where he has gone. Was it the money? I do not want to talk about that. Transfers are transfers – you cannot explain absolutely everything.”

LOL. Of course he did and of course he didn't want to pay up. This isn't the first time Wenger has come out and said he's tried to buy 'great player X' before their current team did.

Kante at Arsenal would be scary but luckily those type of things will never happen while their leader is a complete muppet

Pretty sure this is why

I love the fact that he thinks money was the main reason Kante picked us over Arsenal. Yeah nothing to do with being the biggest team in London in the last 10yrs managed by one of the best managers in the world. Stay bitter Wenger.

I've also noticed some rival fans comparing our season to Leicester.

yeah before this season we were constantly in and out the premier league and battling for relegation. Anything to demean us I suppose.

I'm not sure what they have written but there are similarities. In my eyes is this Chelsea team great, my personal opinion is no but it's obviously better than Leicesters.

Did Chelsea or Leicester need a great team to win the league I would say it's also a no. Both teams had an in form keeper, most importantly a great defence and generally take the lead in games and then don't lose.  Vardy and Mahrez was quality for Leicester last year but never on Hazards and Costa level. But base them on that one season and they was top draw.

I think both teams where based on a strong defence, organised, tactics, consistency and not playing in Europe. Also Conte is a great manager.

Both seasons the other teams all dropped silly points. I see lots of similarities.

Will probably blame it on the money when we sign Sanchez in the summer. Not the fact they fail every year and Sanchez wants to win some big trophies.

Obviously I'm drunk enough and bored enough (yet too lazy to go to the pub) to be going through one of those 'I wonder what Wim Jonk is up to' nights.

Anyway, apparently Darren Huckerby is only 40! That must be some sort of conspiracy.

Edit: Might turn this into a prediction game - Noel Whelan is somehow still only 38 and is currently playing for Nuneaton.

The Guardian have caught on

"It is the noisy ones, of course, who get the attention and there are none noisier than the stars of Arsenal Fan TV, who give their opinions to camera outside the stadium immediately after matches. For the uninitiated, it is Jerry Springer without the bouncers, except that nobody is chanting “Ar?sène, Ar?sène”.

To many Arsenal supporters, it is an embarrassment but when the YouTube numbers are considered – some of the videos have upwards of 300,000 views – it cannot be dismissed as an irrelevance, even if followers of other clubs are surely logging in for the entertainment value"

Richard dunne is only 37. Looks about 50. I know we acccuse African footballers of lying about their age but I wonder how many people here do it too. T

After that fantastic win just now much more relaxed about the rest of the matches this weekend, any other positive results this weekend are a bonus - still, c'mon Hull and Boro today! ;)

Hull takes the lead against Liverpool at the stroke of half time.

Another Mignolet-howler.

3-0 Sunderland away to Palace.

Impressive from Moyes and them.
