December 24, 20169 yr Whilst never being the biggest fan of Staus Quo, they were an enormous group when I was in my teens. Sad to see Rick Parfiitt has passed away today. 2016 takes another leading musician to heaven. It'll be rocking up there this year.
December 24, 20169 yr Very sad news about Rick. I saw Quo a couple of times. A great band live. I remember Quo announcing in late 1983 or early 1984 that they retiring and there would be a final tour. Remember queuing for hours to see them at the Hammersmith Odeon. It wasn't that longer after their supposed farewell tour that they were touring again and producing albums.

December 25, 20169 yr George Michael??? Good Lord, he was just a youngster! The sooner this year is dead and buried the better.
December 26, 20169 yr I'm still clinging on to the idea that you could pick any year from the last twenty and identify a crop of similarly big stars to have died, but 2016 is starting to get brutal.

No - no other year has been like 2016. Of course there's always deaths every year but not such huge names, and so many of them young - Prince and George Michael particularly so. But Bowie was not great age either.

Glenn Frey was younger than Bowie too. As for George Michael, he was a really soulful vocalist, even when doing lighter pop fare like WHAM. His life was troubled though, so I'm unfortunately not that surprised that he passed on before his time. RIP.
December 27, 20169 yr If the Great Reaper wants another victim for his scythe before the end of the year, there is an eminently deserving one in the Fart Meister of America.
