Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

He was amazing in the fa cup final against us and I've always thought we was a talent. Can't wait to see him improve massively under Conte. Potentially very good signing for us.

Llorente is 32. Weren't you saying we shouldn't sign players like Marchisio and Candreva because of their age on other threads??

Yes that right...and I'll explain it simply so you and you and little sad band of sycophants can understand it...unlike the other two, Llorente has played in this league for what two seasons?, and has a proven history of goalscoring in this league too...he will be a plan B option that will be infrequently used...and will not block the ability of Tammy to break through into the first team next season...hopefully that explains the difference or would you like me to do it using stickle bricks for your little friends in the sandpit?

Oooh touchy! Someone not had their Weeatabix this morning?

1 year in this league pal. Was at Sevilla the year before last.

I think i'd rather take a risk on an older player that is still doing it at a top club than one that is winding his career down at a small club because no big club wants him anymore...

"untried" for marchisio!!! :laugh2::laugh2:

Its like every new player who comes to play in PL takes 5 years to settle down and simply cant play football in that time period.

Yep untried in EPL...whole different league to the slow, tactical game in Italy...jeez I would have thought anyone who knows anything about football would know that...:face_palm:

Hmmm. Well you clearly showed me that I dont know much about football and then suddenly I remembered a certain Marcos Alonso who came to PL from a whole different league.

By the way, had Ballack ever played in PL before coming to PL.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had entered the final year of his contract, rejected a £150,000-a-week offer to stay at the Emirates, pushing for £200,000.

And Starsport understands the England international has agreed a huge financial package with the Stamford Bridge side worth £220,000-a-week.

Played in Bundesliga which is probably the most similar to EPL...keep trying son...and Alonso has already played in this country for Bolton and Sunderland...do you research son...

No idea who starsport are, but i'd be very disappointed if he's been given anywhere near that. He's nowhere near that good. That's even more than Hazard probably.

Like I said, there are many more names. Some successful, some not so much.

We have a great record signing players from Ligue1 (DD, Essien, Azpi, Zouma), does not mean that the french ligue is similar in style to PL or that we should buy any Papy Djibodji coming out of there.

Marchisio is a great player. To say that we should not sign him as he never has PL experience, if probably the weakest argument ever.

You think Serie A is slow and tactical??? It's not 2002 anymore you know, Serie A is my 2nd favourite league to watch because games are played at such a high tempo now, try watching some games it's a very exciting league and has been for 2 or 3 years now

Of your list btw Henry was 22 when he joined Arsenal and Bergkamp was 26...hardly Marchisio territory...and this board ain't going to buy him or Candreva...

And Zola was? Desailly was? Give it a rest mate. It like saying we should not go for Sandro because he has no PL experience.

Does not matter what the board wants/does not want. Its what COnte wants. We are buying Drinkwater and OX, and maybe they were Conte's first choice, maybe they were not (Marchisio and Candreva being the first choices but we were unable to get them). I am decently happy with Drinkwater but there is not even a comparsion between the quality of Marchisio and Drinkwater.

I agree that it has improved in the last couple of years...

Who said I ever compared Marchisio with Drinkwater? And who knows if we were ever interested in Marchisio or Candreva? Recent history shows that this current board are looking for younger players with potential rather than older players on the way down...

perfect as a RWB. Either an upgrade on Moses or a backup, either way we got some cover in that position so its a win/win

Great, now all I'll see when I look at him is a poodle.

 If we can popularise this it might put off the opposition, a big poodle running at you in a blue t shirt with a ball at his feet if not terrifying is at least confusing.
