Maybe explains yesterday. Not sure about all the games preceding it though. I have massive faith in Conte and his ability to improve players, but i can't see who he would get in front of in our team. I don't get the comments about challenging VM for his place as i am sure i saw a quote last week stating that he was turning down the Arsenal offer becuase he didn't want to play as a wing back.

I agree with everything you said, though I think if we sell costa we will only be 25 million in the Black.

Im more saying I think all evidence points to the board not wanting a net spend of ~30million+. Do I think they “should” spend more, yeah. I just don’t think they will.

Well not at this point but we were willing for the right player, Sandro for example, if you take in to account what we discussed about a good player making you money through various channels then I would say they will spend but only on the right players that tick the boxes.

On a bit of a gamble at this point, no, I think we are looking only at what the club see as very sensible transfers.

Fee agreed!

Brilliant transfer for us, can play midfield and wing back. Under Conte he can hopefully evolve a lot more. The talent is there for sure! 24 yo and English.

One more now before the window and im happy.

Our next home game is L'Arse. Media must be licking their lips

He needs to be left out of the squad for that one, likewise Vardy and Drinkwater vs Leicester if they come. Will create an unnecessary media circus.

This ungrateful piece of **** can do one. He'll fit in well with the snakes over at Chelski. One good game in five he gives us, ONE good game in five. Then he plays like he did yesterday to force a move?

This will leave a sour taste in the mouth of all Gooners I reckon. We showed so much time and patience with this guy, many a manager would've got shot of him given his terrible goal return. Let's not act as if he's played RWB his entire time here.

Him, his quarter-life crisis hairstyle, and his Little Mix girlfriend can all get to ****. Bellerin and Nelson both have higher ceilings. We've seen the best of Ox.

Can't believe people are actually upset that this absolute fanny, who's accomplished the sweet sum of **** all for the club, is being sold.

He wants to leave. Who gives a **** where he goes. **** him.

Gone down well with a few Arsenal fans...

Aw it's a shame!

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

However, i don't disagree with their assessments. We were saying similar things about Oscar i remember. I don't get all this versatile stuff as well. With the exception of Azpi this normally means mediocre in a number of positions rather than really good in one. Personally i much prefer a Fabregas type of player, who has his failings in certain scenarios and positions, but is different gravy when playing in his favoured position. I really hope i'm wrong but this looks like a classic benchwarmer, just playing in some of the cup games.

He is square peg round holes in wing back and CM positions, from what I saw they played him there at their own peril, he is not a versatile player.

I only see him function as one of the 2 behind the striker. Hazard, Pedro, Willian, then Ox as 4th choice bench boy, I don't think Conte fancies Kenedy at all so an incoming HG player allows Kenedy to go now or in January.

Where will he play then?

RWB rotating with Moses?

In a power midfield 3 with Kante & Baka?

In a midfield 2 with Kante/Baka/Fab?

As a right forward instead of Willian or Pedro?

I have always rated him and with the coaching & discipline Conte will give him I think he can really flourish.

The last wing back we signed from Arsenal with a pop star girlfriend ended up becoming a Chelsea legend, maybe the Ox has something to aspire to! :)

Helps the quota but struggled to hold down a place at Arsenal so not holding my breath on this one, hope I am proved wrong of course.

dows this move explain his dire performance yesterday ?

ditto

Well i gotta admit, i'm not excited at all by this transfer. I have said it before and i'll say it again, he's very average at pretty much everything. He isn't great at one thing, just average at everything.

He's had six very underwhelming years at Arsenal and if he wasn't English, then i don't think we would be going anywhere near him.

Hopefully he proves me wrong, but other than adding depth and home grown players, i don't see anything to get excited about.

Ox yesterday was already gone in his head, his performance showed that.

Thinking about coming here playing for a struggling Arsenal side would just make me play safe and make sure to stay fit ;)

The big difference was that Ashley Cole was already world class when we signed him.
