Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

i think the original fee of £35m would be accepted. it's hard to argue with the fee considering he's one of arsenal's better players, young, and english.

Did anyone watch MotD? That moment when Oxlade and someone else spent about 6-7 seconds just walking away not looking at the ball, while Liverpool won it back and attacked. It summed up Wenger really. He just sat there doing nothing. Conte would have absolutely destroyed them.

I am not going to put any weight in his performances so far this season. Arsenal are just dying at the moment.

I really like his energy, speed and techincal ability and think Conte can turn him into an excellent player. He'll look a lot better for us so i hope we get it done.

I think the Ox will be a better player at Chelsea. You're joining a club were the manager doesn't accept anything less than 100% and a club with a winning mentality. Arsenal suffer bad from injuries in general and Ox has had his fair share.

The Ox isn't stupid and knows Wenger is only playing him so he signs the new contract, once signed he will be out the team again.

Also what Conte did with players like Moses and Alonso is a good sign he can make Ox into a better player.

I hope this transfer goes through. Apparently Liverpool want him to play in CM, he won't ever play then.

I was keen at first for the reasons above (we need depth, he'll finally have proper coaching, he's young, English and has the physical traits) but recently have been struggling to recall a commanding / stand out performance from him over the years. I don't make it a habit to watch Arsenal so it's possible I've missed it, but how much of his mediocrity is now baked in / learned?

I think a good marker is that it sounds like he wants to join us and conte. He wants to improve his game. He clearly has a good attitude!

Plus I like his girlfriend quite a bit

Seen a few reports today claiming we're liking to complete this signing within the coming days with the fee somewhere between £35-40m.

I think it'd be a good signing. I reckon Conte could make him take his game up a gear. Just look what he's done with Moses and Alonso no to a certain extent Dave as well.

He's a talented and versatile player, and still quite young with a fair amount of unfulfilled potential. He would strengthen our squad at the very least, which is definitely Conte's priority.

Hope it goes through. He would be a very useful signing if maybe not the most exciting.

Seems like a very high price, considering how little he has left on his contract.

I suppose the price is all about making it attractive enough for Wenger to let him go now not in 12 months time...personally I like the player and think Conte can improve him but I'd also be interested in Lemar if he's available too...maybe it would also be worth sticking in a £100m offer for Oxlaide Chamberlain and Sanchez...and agree not to bid for Lemar to help clear the path for Arsenal...

For me, his performance against Liverpool showed the situation for what it is. He's sick to death of playing for Arsenal and cannot find it in him to give 110 per cent. Not ideal for clubs scouting him but, for me, totally understandable. Whilst it doesn't excuse him, you have to say there is a reason why he didn't play well. His head looks focused elsewhere and who can blame him? What excuse do the other players have? Blaming the likes of Ox for that performance, as some in the media did, is expected and the easy thing to do but, for me, wide of the mark. There are bigger problems at that club, which is why, it seems, Ox wants out.

Two things...

Firstly, I think Conte will unlock the Ox's poential. He has an abudance of talent that we're yet to see and Conte is known for making players better.

Secondly, if he puts in the same effort for us as he did yesterday for Arsenal then he won't even get on the bench let alone the first team.

Antonio won't put up with lack of effort.

That was a concern I had. If things turn sour here, would he pull the same, I wondered? However, it's Arsenal. Way different club. I think he'll be happy here.

It also doesn't help that Arsene has been shifting him all over the place. Granted I watch Arsenal only on several occasion to get a feel of their team when they play us and from what I saw, every season he's been there his position changes. First he was a RW, then LW then RM then CM then RWB, then LWB then RWB again. If he was 6ft, I'd bet Wenger to play him at CF, CB and GK.

We can’t afford that. We don’t have the money to spend £100m on those two as well as getting Drinkwater.

Is that a joke? We're awash with cash...it's just the board don't like parting with it...

Lemar is Liverpool bound along with Keita, while we try to sign Drink water.

I'd be shocked if Liverpool signed either of those two at this stage !

Keita is a done deal but arrives next year apparently.

Lemar is a possible, he wants out of Monaco and they don't care about selling - the manager is what makes their team what it is and they have recruted well.

Lemar's a highly gifted player. I can't understand why we didn't enquire about him at the same time as we sealed the deal for Bakayoko. Maybe we did and got a knock back.
