Should we sign Sanchez on free next summer?

Might be a solid investment

signing sanchez even now for 60 to 70 million wud be amazing.

but doesnt he want to join pep? i think city may do a deal on deadline day for him..

and if he stays at arsenal for another season and walk for free he wud need immense wages and probably signing on fee next summer which may make PSG most likely buyers..

i wud be thrilled if we can get him.. can play as AM or Striker.. Versatile..

Apparently arse offering 180k week- doesn't sound like them

and Ox is going to reject they claim.  Suspect he has had his head turned if so, by us or Liverpool.   No way they wont sell him if hes turned down that offer

You mean one of the top 3 players in the premier league?

if we win the league this year we might have a chance of getting him. Otherwise he’s joining pep.

On the contrary, it sounds very much like them. Faffing about with contract negotiations until the final year then propose a huge wage increase. Walcott is on 140k and he's basically a useless sub

Supposedly he's unhappy at playing wing-back as opposed to central midfield or winger.

Which is unfortunate given wing-back is the only position he's capable of playing in the first 11 for us.

Thought exactly the same, to be honest

Reports this afternoon that he's been told if he doesn't accept a new contract he'll be sold...things could be starting to move...

Apparantly he is turning down 180k p/w? there is no way we would pay that, so if he does make the move to us or liverpool then he is taking a pay cut!

Not sure about this. Right now Willian and Pedro are not better than him.

Right now Pedro is definitely better than him.
Regardless, wages are never strictly proportional to to quality or importance

Similarly he is no better than them. So surely he would be deemed a squad player

In the floating role behind the striker Willian and Pedro are far better in their creativity and intelligence, Oxlade-Chamberlain is the more powerful runner but that isn't such a necessary attribute for the role.

I mean those sort of wages for a player on free transfer is one thing but when we are still paying 40mill or so seems way ott. Wonder what Liverpool think of it.

Eh ? Willian and Pedro are well ahead of Chamberlain. What has Chamberlain done in his career that makes you think he is better ? He's played most of his career on the wing and rarely got a goal. Willian and Pedro scored more goals in their last two season's with the club than Chamberlain has managed in his whole career for Arsenal.

No. Willian and Pedro are streets ahead better than him in the technical part of the game. Ox is physically better and a powerful runner. Him and Moses should duke it out for the RWB role and even then Ox needs to increase his output and threat if he's to usurp Moses

I genuinely don't think that he is any more creative than either Moses or Willian. Whilst his engine may be greater than Moses' i am not convinced his tracking back, general speed and stamina is any better than Wiilian.

Regardless of the effectiveness of Willian and Moses in tracking back and defending there is still a willingness to play that role in our system which they have done without complaining.

If the rumours are true that he wants to leave Arsenal becuase he doesn't want to play the RWB role, then this must surely be a non runner. i just can't see how he will bring something that we don't already have.

He would be good for strength in depth but surely not for the numbers that seem to have been quoted in the press.

Whilst I agree with you, there's barely enough time to be picky atm and the board seem to be focused on players like Drinkwater and Ox. Either way, it's too late in the market to negotiate for fees for anyone of top class quality/potential top class quality without overpaying ie Barca with Dembele.

I honestly believe he has all the tools to be a quality wing back, in the same sense as Moses he isn't productive enough for a major attacking role but he defiantly has the ability to get past a player and be involved in the build up play, which are crucial elements for a WB.
