Actually think Sideshow's ban could be a good thing facing them. Christensen looks so calm and composed, I've confidence that he'll do well. 

This game could be a belter, we've got the midfield and attacking options to have a real go at them and they won't want to sit back. Think we will edge it.

Sorry to side-track the thread but I'm down from Scotland on Saturday and I fancy watching the game in a decent Chelsea boozer, any recommendations near the ground?

Mendy out ACL so we will see Danilo, for me he is a top player but that's judging more on his Porto days, having said that first big PL game after being bench warming won't be easy for him , still the same 2 subpar CB's, so for sure they can be got at.

This has a 2-1 feel for me, if we can shut them out I think we can score, we are the right type of team to beat them petty the FA f**ked us, who gives a days rest after a CL away game.  

I'd take a draw.

No matter who they play for a player or anyone getting in a car accident is not something you want to see. Every time I hear about something like this I think of Yordana Ventura who died at his peak or Charlie Davies who was never the same after a serious injury.

The only way Morata doesn't start is if that ankle problem is serious. He doesn't seem like the type to sit out if he has a slight knock. The thing I question is what our approach will be in the center. Does Cesc start as well and we hope to control the center and spark counters or do we go for power and try to counter their approach with width to hold their WBs from getting forward? The Luiz suspension has worked out. We can bring in someone fresh and raring to go who is more conservative and patient for this one without controversy. I'm doubtful Moses starts again I think I'd prefer Frank anyway because he's more positionally sound.

First of all....who on earth is Frank???

Secondly, there's absolutely no chance we line up with a 3-4-3. It's almost definitely going to be a 3-5-2/3-5-1-1 the way we set up against Atletico AND against Spurs. We tried that with Arsenal and couldn't even muster up a thing until the second half when Baka came on and we switched to 3-5-2.

 

Damn man. Thats terrifying. Hope he's ok. But I have read reports that he will need 2 months recovery time.

I would put Andreas in the Luiz role (of a DM). A good tackler, great positioning, and most importantly comfortable on the ball.

Gary at the center of a back 3 is something Conte has never done and wont (unless he is out of players). That position needs a ball playing CB and that is clearly not Cahill's forte

I think they'll pass around Cesc and give him no time on the ball if we play him with Baka and Kante. If they play through the FBd we'll need wingers to track back and hopefully occupy those FBs to keep them from getting to far forward. Playing a narrow shape only invites pressure from a team like City.

True. Maybe then Rudi as a CB and GC as LCB.

I would be happy with almost anything 3-5-2 sans Cesc.

    Wish him a speedy recovery and thank God for sparing his life. The bad thing about this is that city will play their dynamic and peps favourite 3 pronged speed attack of Sane Jesus Sterling. I am really terrified of sterling isolating himself on Cahill. I wud rather play rudger on the left of the back 3 because his speed will be needed to cover sterling and also protect Alonso. With Citys Injuries their line up is very predictable it will be

Happy Aguero isn't seriously hurt but he's a rat and has tried to seriously hurt David Luiz multiple times so i am not going to feel to bad for him.

 

I got a feeling Morata will shine against that defense.

With Mendy out and a right footed LB Danilo, I think we should use Zappacosta. A right footed LB will find it more difficult to cut out the crossing. We should exploit that. Moses always tries to cut inside and thats not the best way against Danilo.

 

About the midfield, its tricky. They got 2 world class playmakers Silva and de Bruyne. So we may get a bit exposed if we play Cesc. Luiz would have been the best option there.

Christensen is not an option as he is more required at the central CB. And honestly, I dont think he has the quality and more importantly, confidence, to play there.

Kante and Bakayoko will have to sit back more than they normally do nowadays.

Aguero has often score against us, so i take this like one good new, even if Manchester City alway stay dangerous

Are you mistaking Davide  zappacosta with Frank Zappa ? One is a football player one a musician 

Aguero is a dirty little bar steward who goes into injure players on one hand couldn't happen to a nicer guy but I'd still never wish that on any player, hope the little bar steward is ok 

City's CB's are beyond sh*t. Hazard and Morata should be able to run riot against them. Soak up as much pressure as we can take then spank the ball up to that pair. Morata will win every header with ease.
