I saw that too but Wenger doesn't want to sell Ox, no one wants us to pay £40 for bloody Drinkwater and Southampton said they aren't selling. But honestly all but Drinkwater I would be ok with those purchases but it's 11 days left.... look how long it took us to buy Bakayoko I don't see 5 signings in 11 days

I think Drinkwater and Ox still may be possible. There is no way we are buying Bertrand back

I forgot Ake to Bournemouth as well as Begovic and Chalobah to Watford. (Not as big of names but still quality players)

Naive, but you have to ask who was responsible in advising the board that these players were surplus to requirements. I was annoyed when Bertrand was sold because he was tremendous in the Champions League Final in an unfamiliar position. I got the impression that Sturridge and Lukaku were impatient for first team football and wanted out although, we should have been a lot more steadfast in keeping them at the club. Perhaps the back room staff at the time were no judges of ability and wouldn't know potential if it fell on top of 'em. Begovic was no loss as I thought he was diabolical last season.

Whenever Emenalo is interviewed or when you speak to some of our young players it seems quite evident that Emenalo isnt the one forcing these players out. In fact he seems desperate to have some of them make it here. Its almost a guarantee that Conte has told the board and Emenalo that theae players arent going to get gametime so they were promtly shipped out. Most our youth players seem to be handle like assets and if an asset is likely to drop in value it seems we have set a presedence to get what we can for that player before his value goes lower. I think we have done a great job with our loans this year, both RLC and Tammy are getting a shot at proving themselves. Just too bad Conte isnt getting players in to replace those he didnt want.

Not many options left for us it seems. id take Krychowiak on loan, and then assess centre midfield next summer. Maybe rlc will be ready to step into that role.

left wing back is tricky, I would be happy to try again next summer for Sandro, but we still would need a short term fix.

We don't really seem to be linked with any top right wing backs. Although I'm not excited at prospect of candreva, I think he will be a decent squad player, that can hopefully provide cover and competition to both wing back positions.

So candreva for £25m, Krychowiak on loan, and then if we can bring in a player that will improve our 1st 11 like Sandro, then brilliant, but don't sign average players for big money that will end up on loan or blocking youth prospects.

Don't thin Ox is coming this window, he's one of their best player so far and selling him now would be a disaster for Wenger. Southampton is a selling club, they may ask for loads of money but they will let go one of their defender, like they did every other season with their players. I wish the transfer windows shuts in the next 24 hours, we may just get some deals done instead of just chasing, it's been so draining I don't even get excited by actual games like in the past.

I just thought it was strange that he's gone from being the flavour or the month to a non entity in double quick time. And no sign, as yet, of any dissent from Herrera. The fact that the board, quite willingly, let Matic go to one of our biggest rivals, seems weird. I didn't expect any reciprocation from Arse'oles with Cech because that seemed like more of a goodwill gesture for services rendered. We most certainly don't know what's going on behind the scenes, and nor should we, until the deals are finalised. There's bundles of money involved so cards are kept very close to one's chest. However much we try to speculate, normally at the prompting of some useless back page reporter or a snippet on the web, you can guarantee that there will be surprises in store up the the last minute of the deadline. I just hope one of those is Herrera because he would be ideal alongside Kante.

Ye biggest indication to me that it isn't happening is Mou almost mocked us for selling matic to them, he said I never thought there was a chance to buy him until his agent said you can buy him you just have to pay, it was about the money for us and marina looking for pats on the back for making money not considering Chelsea football club.

United wouldn't have allowed it. He cost them a lot of money, they know he is a very good player and they know he would have strengthened a rival. Unlike us, they won't take that risk.

they wudnt want to lose him..but i think they wud have prioritised getting matic over the prospect of losing martial..

but then our board need to be shrewd on the negotiating table...big ask..!!

Anyone else getting nervy that there's just over a week left and we still aren't signing anyone. We are linked with everyone and his mate, but that's just the usual rubbish. We don't actually appear to be going after actual players and we need payers like (home grown) to fall in line with the Champions League rules ...

Mahrez is apparently odds on to join now.

Suspect that that Aurier is moving somewhere before the end of window.

Then there's Alexis Sanchez whom I really think is going to move to us or PSG (if they don't get Mbappe)

Spending 300 million to win a leauge that stoke could win seems crazy to me, I guess they fancy themselves in the CL.

They just want to stockpile talent and improve their brand. Not too confident that they'll win the CL anytime soon until I've seen them go up against Real or Bayern

If they (PSG) have the best players and the best coaches/coaching, by sheer probability they'll win the Champions League eventually

Feel like the Drinkwater deal is coming in the next few days, 30-35M is more than anyone would pay. If we sign him, there's a good chance Conte will play lots more 352 this season, and I do believe this formation would allow Cesc to play more. I don't think Ox is coming this Window, we should be able to get Betrand back from Southhampton.

It's funny after beating Spurs, all the sudden the transfer window is not as depressing as it was a week ago.

I think we will get Drinkwater too.

Suspect the OX and Cancelo are no longer on the table.

Surprisingly I think we are still chasing Sandro though I see no movement there.

I also still think we are interested in Nuri Sahin.

Agree on Drinkwater and the OX, I think we are interested in Nuri Sahin though have seen nothing to back this up.

I also think we are still chasing Sandro though don't think anything will come of it.

Re your last point, I agree though think we were lucky to have the versatility of David Luiz.

I really doubt we'd sign Mahrez and Sanchez in one window. We already have Pedro, Willian and Musonda. I'm hoping it'll be Sanchez rather than Mahrez!

I agree.

3-4-Cesc-Hazard Morata

Bertrand tweeted he is on his own way home.

Drinkwater maybe, it depends if Conte thinks Luiz is capable to play regularly in midfield or not.

I hope Ox is coming next year for free.

I would be curious to see Belotti in premier league, I think he is not worse than Harry Kane.

You know nothing John Snow....

I know we should show faith as the board has managed some good deals in the past years like Luiz, Hazard, Courtios, Willian, Costa, Fabregas, Pedro and so on...

what you sit and think good business especially when they sold Luiz for £50mil and Mikel and Ramires and Oscar for a combined 90 mil. But you also got to think about the amount of bad business they did! Baba Rahman, Flipe Luis, Dji (what's his name), Hector, Atsu, Cuadrado, Salah, Remy, Ba and Torres (even though I love him and still a big fan of his) was terrible business. Roman should really start reviewing his board and maybe let the manager push for their own targets more.

Im still hoping for some deadline masterclass but let's be honest now, if they've even considered buying Danny Drinkwater it's obvious the board is a little out of touch this window.

Oke, once and for all, can we just stop the DD bashing ? The guy is a good player, do you really think someone like Toni Kroos is about to join CFC ? For a 4th choice midfielder he can do a decent job, and he fits a 3-5-2 system.

Looking at the Swansea v United game today, I noticed that Herrera was on the bench. This, the same player who was supposed to be taking over the captaincy when Rooney left, was voted Player of the Year last season, was courted by Barcelona in July with a 60 million pound offer, has one year on his contract to run but it was reported that Mourinho wanted to tie him down to a new lucrative contract.......then Mourinho signed Matic. Now Herrera is a bit part player with even Fellaini coming on before him. Call me a conspiracy theorist but have we made a deal with United/ Mourinho in that they get Matic now, while we get Herrera before the transfer deadline? I say this because the Drinkwater transfer talk seems to have hit a brick wall.

Herrera is terribly overrated. I'd rather have Drinkwater than him. There's nothing between them and Drinkwater is English.

Herrera got way overhyped during a terrible two years for United. their fans got blinded by his effort because everything else was completely dull. You get enough fans melting over a player and suddenly pundits and other fans assume they must be missing something so blindly join in. He's bang average.

Problem is, when we did give Mourinho control on transfers, he sold Lukaku, De Bruyne and Salah all for far less than they proved to be worth (something for which we've definitely suffered for)

It's taken a long time, but I do think we've gotten gradually better (/less wasteful) on transfers than we were in the early Roman days.

Or at least I felt that way till recently when we sold/loaned out all our depth before sourcing replacements [emoji33]
