It’s the defence where I am iffy about them. Specially both the full back positions. Who are the starting full backs these days?

HA, f**king genius.  "I am a bit iffy about the fullbacks" "Who are the fullbacks?"

England's squad:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44138600

Uncapped 19-year-old Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named in Gareth Southgate's 23-man England squad for this summer's World Cup.

Defender Gary Cahill has been recalled and there are also places on the plane to Russia for Chelsea team-mate Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart and midfielder Jack Wilshere have not been included.

England start their Group G campaign against Tunisia on 18 June, before games against Panama and Belgium.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is one of five players on standby for the tournament, along with Burnley keeper Tom Heaton, Clarets defender James Tarkowski, Bournemouth's Lewis Cook and fellow midfielder Jake Livermore of West Brom.

"I believe this is a squad we can be excited about," Southgate said.

"It is a young group but with some really important senior players, so I feel the balance of the squad is good, both in terms of its experience, its character and also the positional balance."

Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley)

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Kyle Walker, John Stones (Manchester City), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Phil Jones, Ashley Young (Manchester United).

Midfielders: Eric Dier, Dele Alli (both Tottenham Hotspur), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea)

Forwards: Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal) Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Standby: Tom Heaton, James Tarkowski (Burnley), Lewis Cook (Bournemouth), Jake Livermore (West Brom) and Adam Lallana (Liverpool).

Anyone with half a brain would have been able to comprehend exactly what was asked and said.

First of all, the question was "who are the starting fullbacks?", a question asked by someone not following german national football, but very much in the know of the options available to germany for the said positions, for ex - kimmich as a RB though he barely plays that position for bayern but a natural RB, we have seen loew employ howedes as a RB multiple times. For left back - they have hector, and toljan who was kind of linked with us.

Main problem being none of them have either played a world cup before or the full backs not being there no.1 position. Either ways, just shows exactly how much you know. Try adding something creative and constructive to the forum rather than going about creating problems like a grumpy old sad man that you are. If you cant do that, keep your nose out of others business rather than trying to show off and coming off as an idiot.

Cahill & Welbeck shouldn't be anywhere near that squad, and I'm very surprised Jonjo Shelvey didn't make it he has been outstanding this season. Considering we've got no good passers or technical players in midfield, just speed merchants that play up top, we could have really done with a player like Shelvey there.

Then again why am I bothered, lost my passion for England years ago.

And then another load of rambling, googled self-justification like a whiney little bitch.

If you say so,  little man.   Someone saying they are iffy about the fullbacks and then, two sentences later saying they don't know who the fullbacks are just strikes me as totally f**king ridiculous.  What was wrong?  Did your google let you down?

Looked at it in any logical way, someone expressing "iffyness"  about something and then immediately saying that they actually know f**k all about that subject is very entertaining.

However, it's not typical of you, I must admit, as I don't remember you ever admitting that there was a subject you didn't know everything about before.

Perhaps, just perhaps, there is a tiny little spark of  self-awareness flickering away inside that comedy helmet you are wearing.

I think Shelvey's temperament went against him.  He did appear to be very easy to wind up.

Is he still the same now? I thought he would've got out of that childish attitude years ago, he always had potential when he was a youngster in that Liverpool squad. It was his silly attitude that let him down.

Having problem reading and comprehending grandpa? Maybe an early onset of ... again.. knowing options of fullbacks as to asking exactly who the “starting” fullbacks were. 2 very very different things and very understandable.

let me try to break it down for you- are you aware of argentina’s Attacking prowess? Messi, higuain, dubala, aguero, iCardi, maria. Do you know who “starts”? Give your brain a jog? Try it. You might be able to understand the differences in knowing the options and classifying them as iffy because you are aware of the players available, but not knowing the manager/coach’s preference of the starting players.

I just love the true comedy of it, all the self-justification and rambling bullsh*t.

I don't like sushi.  What exactly is sushi?

(oh sh*t,  I should have googled sushi before I said something quite so inane and stupid.  Perhaps no-one will  notice.  Oh, I know, I'll move the goal posts and get aggressive and shake my head around under my stunning head of hair that I'm so proud of that I use it for my avatar,  and not in a preening, self-aggrandising, narcissistic sort of way, no sir.)

Glad we can be of entertainment service, @Slojo

The helmet line had me crying.

But it is amazing how one keeps constantly contradicting himself around the forum while being randomly aggressive towards others and players then plays the victim card innit?

Ya, because knowing the options available for national team is exactly the same as knowing what the coach’s preference is.

the best thing is as soon as this guy is proven to be the egoistic condescending maniac that he is, he tries to give it a spin that it is the other person’s fault. Talk about moving the goal posts. Next time when you try indulge somewhere you don’t belong, make sure you are doing it correctly, rather than it all ending up in your face.

ps- someone is seriously insecure about their hair. oh well..

Edited by didierforever

I just find it slightly incongruous that you, with such a wonderful bush* of luxuriant growth, perfectly trimmed and coiffured should have such an obsession with Antonio Conte's hair, to  such an extent that you take every opportunity to abuse him for his hair in the worst possible language.

OMG, is it possible that that wonderful comedy helmet of hair you have is  .................................. A WIG??????  Do  tell, the suspense is killing me.

* Urban Dictionary defines this as "bush

a pussy. or
A very hairy pussy."

Hmmm. Do go back and show the apparent “every opportunity”. PleAse. Since you are so sure of it, please do it.

another boring, sh*tty, non-constructive, lack of any apparent know how of whatever post.cant imagine the utter sh*tty life one must have to be this way.

the only one obsessed with hair, be it conte’s mine or anyone else’s seems to be you. Please take your weird fetishes else where

It amazes me mate.  The blokes a know it all and gets very rapidly aggressive with nearly everyone who  even slightly disagrees with his,  frankly stupid ideas.  I've seen him trying to get people banned before by playing the racist card, even though no-one knew his racial origin until he started shouting racist.

The hair is a cracker though.  And he regularly calls Conte a bald c**t or wig-wearing.  A bit of over-compensation,maybe?   And, like you say, constantly contradicting himself and getting randomly aggressive.

Total prat, and, sadly, a bit representative of a particular sort of internet warrior who has latched onto our club like a leech since summer 2015.  What happened then?  Did we win the league?  Perhaps if he'd got Sky and the internet the year before he would have leeched onto Man City.  They won the league that year :)

Talk about getting aggressive over disagreement.

The trolling is strong with this one. For someone continuously accusing others of being an Internet warrior, the amount of time this guy spends just randomly spouting hateful sh*t and name calling any one who dares disagree with him, it’s mind bogglingly ironic.

Calling/insinuating that others are not good enough fans and trying to big himself up on an Internet forum, ya THAT definitely is not over compensation, right?

Not going to  carry on feeding your inane self-obsession.  I'll just say two things, and then you go back on ignore, never to be thought of again.

Firstly, very little if anything that I have said to you could be remotely considered as aggressive.  Pointing out your very obvious character flaws and dubious opinions  is not aggressive, it's contemptuous.

Secondly, none  of my contempt or disdain is "random", it's all for and directed at you.  No other poster stalks my every post like you do, despite me asking you on several occasions to  put me on ignore and stop stalking me.  I have disagreements with some other  posters over football  matters, of which you know nothing, but you are the only person who  continually makes  personal  attacks on me and what I post, rather than entering into logical debate.  This is because you are a  knowitall who cannot see that there is possibly another side to an argument,  and  refuses to  accept that you might not be as right as you think you  are.  It is a recognised mental condition whereby a person lives in an internal  world  of their own in which there can be no other truth but their opinion.  You might have that.  There are very few other posters that I have "name called" as you so charmingly and childishly call it, because there are very very few other posters who are such a self-obsessed and self-opinionated pricks as you.  You, however, have managed to get into abusive arguments with and to alienate a large number of posters over the very few, glory-hunting years that you have been a "Chelsea fan" in this forum.

So, for the very last time, put me on ignore, stop f**king stalking me and my posts and f**k the f**k off with your inane Sky Sports football knowledge and your incredibly ridiculous wig.

Hahahahhaha... So you quote me and I am "stalking" you. Oh the delusions of grandeurs. Go back to Lala land mate.

Also, I have said this before, I will do as I want. If I want to put you on ignore, I will. If you have such a problem with me, I would simply say take your own damn advice and do it rather than posting utter nonsense and bullsh*t like you keep doing.

Again, I am fine with being called a glory hunting, does not change a thing about me. You on the other hand really need some help. Bigging yourself up or putting others down, well... like I said before... Over compensation.

Also, get over your bloody self. No one gives a f**k about you. No one cares about you. Get over this 'oh people stalk me, poor me" drivel that you keep going on and on about. Just like in this thread. You bloody started it. Have the decency to argue without bringing sh*t up.

Lastly again with the wig. Awww. I can guess why so much insecurity. Its fine. Only advice - get over it.

He was sent off in the first match of the season for stamping on Dele Alli (understandable enough I suppose).

He seems to have kept himself out of trouble for the most part since, but you'd never know with him. That said I think he was unlucky to miss out. Bertrand too.

Think it's a bad call not having Shelvey in the squad. It's not as if we're spoilt for choice with players than can put their foot on the ball and play a pin-point pass. Would have been a brave selection if Southgate had picked him but he's played it safe as England managers always do, Seems Shelvey's face just doesn't fit.

Agree entirely and so does football 365, one of the few English players that can play a long range pass. What is Ali without Eriksen?

Dier does this very occasionally.

Leon Bailey qualifies for England but isn't in the squad, wouldn't surprise me if he goes to the WC with Belgium.

Thanks, Brexit.

Germany is also possible.
